RE: Would I ever be happy towing with a half ton truck

I think you’ll be just as happy as this guy! I’m sure the trailer brakes are working properly.:S

RE: Pigeon Forge and Nashville

Pigeon Forge, stay at Pine Mountain RV Park, Nashville stay at Twin Rivers RV Park or if you have $$$$ KOA Nashville. The shuttles for both downtown and the Grand Ole Opera visit both Nashville campgrounds. Have fun.

RE: 2018 RAM 2500 with Adventurer 910DB

I still don’t understand why you wouldn’t look at a Northstar TC. It’s better suited to your truck, because of the height, width and weigh of them. I am not against Northwood campers, I own a AF990.

RE: GAS 6.6 GM

That 6spd has probably cost them a sale to me. I’ve got an early 6.0 that has been a great truck, but it does struggle with our camper. I held off on buying a truck for 2 years to see what the new one had to offer. I’d checked out the Ram 6.4 in case my truck died, and read about their gear selection issues, then when the Chevy 6.6 came out I was disappointed that it had the 6spd. After reading forums and watching reviews everyone is raving about how much improvement the 8spd made in the Ram, and I’m beginning to hear things about the Chevy 6spd year selection. I test drove both last week, and the Ram 8spd felt much better, and I liked the interior better. I really wanted to love the Chevy since my current one I’ve had for 17 years, and 238k miles of reliable service. I feel guilty leaving Chevy, but at this point I will probably go with the Ram. I could have written this myself. Go drive the Ford 10 speeds also. I have been with GM for 30 years...that may be coming to an end. Bill, I believe you will miss the better ride of a GM HD truck vs a Ford. I also find the ergonomics on the GM’s to be nicer. Good luck.

RE: 2018 RAM 2500 with Adventurer 910DB

I would look at a Northstar TC, they are a non-basement TC, well made, offer the bunk over the dinette and their weights are realistic. Definitely install Timbrens and possibly a rear swaybar.

RE: Coast on the uphills accelerate on the downhills

BenK maybe on to something with that engine radiator. I installed this in my 2007 3500 with the 4L80E transmission, The factory transmission coolers on the 4L80E were marginal at best.

RE: Artic Fox 990 on F350 DRW

Your DRW Ford should have no problems with the AF990 and trailer. Worst case scenario install a rear swaybar.

RE: 1 ton SRW debate

I wouldn’t own a HD gas engine truck with cylinder deactivation. More things to go wrong.

Bill, did you look at Banks Chevrolet/GMC in Concord, NH, they usually have a large truck inventory

RE: Just for you Gritdog 30 mph backwards

Don’t you just hate when someone misses their turn and instead of finding a place to turn around they just put their flashers on and proceeds to back up.:S Nice job 4x4ord.:B

RE: RV parks North across bridge from Mackinaw City

If your visiting Mackinaw island, stay at the Tee Pee campground, they sell tickets for the boats to Mackinaw and the shuttle comes right to the campground.

RE: So many closed topics!

Yosememite, There is always more than one way to skin a cat per say. Say something, disagree with someone, no big. Name calling will get you no where on this forum ANYWHERE! Not just here. As I have noted before, I am probably the lowest deleter of threads, posts etc on So if you happen to get my attention. You deserve it! I have no problems with people debating, as long as it is kept polite. If someone is not being polite, adult like, then expect to be deleted in posts, threads, or even need to get your posts approved by a mod before they are posted, last is deleting your account. If you are causing "ME" that many issues, I skip the approval of posts, just plain ask to have you deleted! Also, in real life, have some respect for real snowflakes, they can kill you in the form of an avalanche. having been knocked down by a mini one at Stevens Pass ski area on the 7th Heaven run, I would not want to be in a real one! I've seen the damage a real one can inflict too! Marty Thanks, Marty.

RE: IRA and new SECURE Act

An IRA is intended to be a "Retirement" account for the purpose of funding the retirement of the person(s) that accumulated the money in a more tax friendly environment. It is not intended to be a tax friendly "Inheritance" account for your kids. It's still free money for your kids, minus deferred taxes due. P.S. You don't pay taxes on a IRA twice. Either you pay the tax when you earn the money (Roth IRA), or you pay the tax when you retire (Regular IRA). Beyond that, I'm really struggling to have a lot of sympathy for someone that has and extra $1 million laying around they want to pass on "tax free". X2

RE: Single Rear Wheel vs Dually - Whats the Best for You

What a joke, apples and oranges. One ton, long bed dually compared to a three quarter ton standard bed SRW. :S
