RV Dump Station App

Now that I have a new iPhone I am looking for an RV dump station/sani-dump app that can be downloaded and used while traveling. I know I can look on the web but I am looking for recommendations of an app you are using and happy with. Thanks

RE: Elks

Yes, you need a sponsor to be put up for membership, but if you don't have one, simply call the secretary of the Lodge you wish to join, and I bet there will be a way. Yes, they want you attending meetings, participating in events, supporting their charities, etc, etc., etc. but it is my experience as a 7 year member that you can be as active or inactive as you wish. Usually there are no pressures, but as in my case it was easy finding what worked for me. Also, many of the Lodges have camping clubs who go on monthly trips together Good luck and happy travels.

RE: Which Mail Service do you use?

For mail forwarding we use Flat Rate Priority Mail. This works great as long as you have someone picking up your mail at your home. Before we leave on an extended trip we call the post office in that location to confirm we can have mail forwarded to us c/o General Delivery. If they will, we pre-address the Flat Rate Priority Mail envelope to that location and affix the appropriate Flat rate postage. We ask the Post Office how long the priority mail will take from our home zip to the zip where we are going. Usually 3 business days, but if going to a rural area it can take longer. Then we leave instructions with the person picking up our mail on what date to send our mail to us c/o General Delivery. The only drawback is the Priority Flat Rate Mail Envelope must be taken to the Post Office Counter. It cannot just be put in the outgoing mailbox. Your mail forwarder can stuff whatever mail the flat rate envelope will hold for the one price. We have used this for years for trips up to 3 months and only once did our mail not get to us before our expected departure from one RV Park to another and this was our fault since we forgot to find out how long it would take from one zip code to another. Safe and happy travels to all.

San Jose, CA RV Park/Campground

Heading to the San Jose area soon. Anyone want to recommend an RV Park or Campground you enjoyed? Full or electric & water preferred. RV is in excellent shape but 10+ years old

RE: Campground near White Sands national monument

Best Park near White Sands National Monument, bar none, is Boot Hill RV Park in Alamogordo. Just returned from a 10 day stay with them. Owners, Cindy and James are terrific. If you can, try for a back in site near the trees. All other sites are large PTs. Also, don't miss the White Sands Missile Range Museum on the White Sands Army Base; also near White Sands Nat. Monument. The missiles displayed there are terrific and are all missiles tested there. Do check WSNM website daily because often the highway and monument are closed if actual missile testing is going on. Of course, you have to be a good guy to get on the base so have your drivers license, proof of vehicle insurance and registration. Happy Travels
