Where are you putting the generator?

RE: Safet T Steer or Roadmaster Stabilizer

I had Safe T Steer on my old RV. My new one has a Blue Ox TruCenter. It does the same job as the Safe T Steer, but also lets you adjust to offset the effect of a strong side wind so you don't have to drive with the steering wheel turned to drive straight.

RE: New Fridge

Before changing out to the residential, which was less than $1300 BTW, I installed three computer type fans above the fridge which help a lot. It seems one of the biggest issues with the 1200s is that the two fans they put on those fail all too often. Since they are pretty quiet you don't realize they've failed and since you can't see them you don't know it until it's too late. I found the 1200 was a great fridge when it's working properly, but when the second one failed, I switched to residential. Biggest difference is 12 cu ft vs 20 cu ft in the same of luck to you. Enjoy camping....Dennis My 1200 is not cooling properly either. Would you please tell me what you replaced it with.

RE: Slide out Fuses

You must have the parking brake set and the engine running.

RE: ? Heat & Air on Ford Chassis?

My only concern is the use of gasoline. In my experience, the dash air drops your mileage almost 1 mile per gallon. Using the generator and the house air is a lot more economical and cools the entire coach. The dash heat should be okay to heat the cockpit. I just prefer the house heat. I always run the generator and only use the the dash air when it is really hot. My motorhome has a 120V water heater and it is nice to have the water hot when we get to our next RV camp. It is also nice to have the whole motorhome at a comfortable temperature.

I don't like the cooking and dinning area by the toilet and shower. I would put the bed back there and have a toilet shower combo. Everything else would go up front.

RE: Changing heat pump to heat strip

When my heat pump can't handle the cold my gas heater comes on.
