RE: Travel Trailer Towing Recommendations

Have you looked at the tow and capacity rating of the 3 SUV's you are considering?
I was suprised at the low rating of the Tahoe.

You could spend thousands of dollars to protect hundreds of fuel and the tank from something that rarely happens. Take normal precautions and keep your insurance paid up/

RE: Covid in RV Parks

Covid is like the the flu. It's always going to be with us and some will die. I've had both shots and a booster and now have my second go 'round with Covid Not any worse for me than a cold.
Take whatever precautions you think is best, and live your life.

RE: catalytic converter stolen

Your engine was designed to run with the converter in place. How much damage are you doing running without it? Hopefully you are smart enough to have insurance, use it to get the converter replaced.
Or put a piece of tape over the light so you don't see it.

RE: Not a good week for Ford

the recalls are the least of the problems. Chip shortages anf o?her supply issues are going to screw up production and sales for a long time.
I got a recall notice a couple years ago for an air bag iossue. Got a letter two months ago to call the dealer and set up an appointment.
Was told they will call me when the parts come in. I asked "How long" Answer "Who knows"?

RE: Best RV Extended Warranty

For liability self insurance is not an option. For repairs self insurance is the only way to go.
Extended warranties are a money maker for the seller, but a loser for the buyer. To many restrictions and requiements, such as yearly inspections by the dealer
at the RV owners expense. A $2K account will cover any repairs you need. If you need any repairs you are at the mercy of the dealer whether you have an extended warranty or not.

RE: Yellowstone with pets

If the dog is well behaved and kept on a short leash, OK. How does he behave in a crowded situation? I think you, the dog and other visitors would be better off without the dog being a tourist. Some kids, and adults too, are afraid of dogs and some people are allergic. Do everyone a favor and leave the dog in the RV or at least in the vehicle while at busy areas in the park.

RE: What to do about fire damage

Have you asked the small shop if they would even consider doing the repair? Be upfront with them about your reservations on them doing the work. If they are hesitant about the job, go somewhere else.
As to driving 100 miles to a marginal shop, it would be a nerve racking trip. You sound like you have already decided against the trip.

RE: Are chips coming available?

the auto makers are profitting from this so called chip shortage. If they weren't thay would charter a cargo plane and go get them some chips.
How many chips could they load on a 747 cargo plane?
It's the same with all these other shortages. If the companies weren't profitting from the shortage they would fix it.

RE: Max Pressure Cold vs Hot Pressures - How Much Is Too Much

You are over thinking this.
Inflate the tires to the recommended cold pressure and forget about it. Check the pressure regularly when cold, cold being the ambient temp. 110 pounds at 30 degrees is not the same as 110 pounds at 90 degrees.

RE: Putting new decals over old.

Yes you can use a heat gun and scraper to remove the decals. The trick is to get ALL the adhesive off also.
