RE: Portable air conditioner

I use a 5000 btu window unit with an rv compartment door mounted down low near the floor on my cargo trailer, and it works perfect for me. Looks like the prices have gone sky high lately but here's an example of the door I used:

RE: new fantastic fan

I just replaced a used one time fantastic fan on my trailer. It was so noisy and moved very little air.
I installed a new MaxxAir fan and so glad I did.

RE: Get Internet with No Cell Service??

I waited for 14-months for Starlink and finally got it a couple of weeks ago.
I can't believe how fast it is.... I'm getting up to 260 Mbps and even took it way out in the country roaming where there was no cell signal and got over 150 Mbps.
I have the fastest internet I've ever had and can take it with me all over the country, thanks to roaming.
It's not mobile, but it's moveable.

RE: Best camera setup for 44ft 5th wheel

I have a Haloview from Amazon and it works well. But, a wired camera system is the best.

RE: Best solutions for internet - REAL solutions please! :)

As Jon said, a MIMO (Multiple In Multiple Out) antenna set is a good choice if your hotspot or router supports it. I use an aimable dual Yagi set that has equaled or out performed our previous $600 amplifier/repeater everywhere we've been with it at less than one-third the cost. My set is mounted just above our Winegard "batwing" TV antenna.

Hey Dutch.... could you please post a picture of the rear of your batwing antenna? I have my yagi's, just need to see the best way to build a bracket for them. I have to build a bracket that will allow the antenna to go up and down, but I haven't worked that out yet. Thanks

RE: Best WIFI Hotspot

I stream TV 16-hours a day with Calyx... It's about $400 a year ($33/month average) and on Sprint/T-Mobile towers.
Visible on Verizon towers.... $25 a month unlimited. Works well on some towers and then can be slow on others.

RE: Locast TV suspends operation.

I watch free Pluto TV several hours a day, especially Andy Griffith and Barney which is on free 24/7.

RE: Calyx Institute?

I have Calyx and am more than well pleased with the service. If T-Mobile works where you travel, you should be happy.
I have the 4G plan which is plenty fast enough for streaming all the data I need. I pay $400 a year which is around $33 a month for all the data I can possibly use.

RE: Skool me on cell phone boosters and install tips, please

Yagi antenna
I use a painter's pole from Lowe's and rotate by hand. The website cellmapper.net can show you the tower locations about anywhere you travel.

RE: Skool me on cell phone boosters and install tips, please

I have the WeBoost Drive Reach... if I'm getting three or more bars on a phone the unit is useless, but if I only get one bar it will flat boost the signal into a good one. I won't travel without it. I can point my yagi antenna right at a tower and get a much better signal.

RE: Temptation to Buy a Chromebook

I need a laptop or Chromebook to use in my trailer, which is 12-volts on 400-watts of solar. A long battery life and low power draw is important. I do not wish to use an inverter. Can you recommend a laptop or Chromebook? No tablets.
