RE: Another Tesla problem

I'm in my 60's and have never been in a car accident. That said, and much to my embarrassment, once I was on cruise control on the interstate approaching my exit ramp and went to tap the brakes to slow down when the truck started to accelerate. Shocked I pressed harder and the truck continued to speed up. White knuckled I made the curve and went to let off what I thought was the break pedal and the truck slowed down. To this day I don't know how I thought I was on the break when I was on the gas. This was 20 years ago when I was a little sharper also. :h :S

RE: Discount on fuel if paying with cash??

Savin Nickels by spendin Dollars. Gotta love it. Park at the pump. Walk into the store and wait in line while Bubba buys his lottery tickets. Hand the cashier some cash to get the pump turned on. Go back out and pump the fuel. Go back in and wait for Larry to pay for his hotdogs. Get your change. Might I suggest leave the rig sit there at the pump and order 6 hot dogs prepared 3 different ways? :B:W

RE: Changing Atwood water heater plug to brass

I have used a brass plug for years with no issue. I do wrap the threads with Teflon tape. Don't know if that makes a difference.

RE: Will snow damage your average toy hauler roof?

There are thousands of new RV's sitting on the manufacturers and transporters lots in Elkhart / Goshen IN, and on dealers lots. They don't worry about snow or clean it off. At the local Camping World they don't even run in slides, and they leave the bunks / tents deployed on hybrids. Well if Camping World says it's ok ......:B

RE: potty without the rv

A small collapsible shovel from an Army Surplus store. Have a roll of toilet paper with you. Dig the hole... A jug of water and some hand sanitizer and a roll of paper tolls. Box of some kind to toss all this into. Many years of car and VW van travel has taught me... Gary HauptAnd if you had a wife who is 89 as the OP stated his is I'd like to see you convince her this is a good solution. Dave Not sure I could wait long enough to dig a hole sometimes. :B For someone 89 I would go with a small portable cassette toilet.

RE: 27 footer vs 32 footer, towing/handling difference?

Just one other thought. Even two trailers the same exact length can tow differently. One could tow noticeably better by design. Jerry Agree. My 34' TT tows better then my previous 26' did. Assumed it is because of the the wide stance axles but who knows.

Because all they see is Help and Support. Maybe it should be reworded? Agree. "Forum Posting Help and Support". Does seem pretty clear though. :B

RE: Sticker shock

Midnightsadie....Don't know where you're from but around here you can make $15 stocking shelves in a department store. I was making $28/hr. back in 401k match, 75% of healthcare, paid holidays, and 3 weeks paid vacation... See what RV dealers are charging per hour compared to what they pay their mechanics.

RE: Are RV shows worth it?

Not a big fan of RV shows myself. Generally not many accessories being offered for sale, other then camp ground memberships, and to many people cramming into the inventory on hand. If I want to look at whats out there I prefer to stop at a dealerships and look around.

RE: Filling Propane While Traveling

Tractor Supply if one nearby plus they charge by the gallon so only pay for what you are getting and they usually seem to be the lowest price around. X2

RE: Sticker shock

Whats as bad as the hourly rate sometimes can be the diagnostic fee. Had a water pump making noise that eventually started to leak. Took it into the shop and told them I needed them to replace the pump. When I picked it up there was a $150.00 diagnostic fee. At least they did remove the charge when I pointed out I had specified what I wanted done.

RE: Local news story made me chuckle (stolen? dog)

If it was stolen to train fighting dogs then it will have a very short life of pain and misery. Not everybody has good intentions. I doubt it will be trained for fighting. But, we don't know the breed of dog. A Chihuahua won't be used for fighting. A Pitbull is a different story. There were probably adoption fees, license, etc. associated with the dog before it went to a new owner. Yes, it is theft. Do experimental labs buy dogs? Dogs like Chihuahua are not trained to fight but are called bait dogs for fighting dogs to practice on. Low risk of injury for the fighting dog.
