RE: printer on the road

We carry a Canon ImageCLASS LBP6030w. Very small and light weight. We also carry an Epson PictureMate for 4x6 color prints. Both are really small and work well. Housted

RE: JC refrigeration AC or DC upgrade?

I converted our last may. Would never have any thing else.My primary reason is that I did not have to rebuild the cabinet as you would for a residential fridge. The doors and such are the same as the old cooling unit. YMMV Housted

RE: Cell phone signal Booster ?

X4 on the WeBoost. We just returned from a trip SoCal to Montana and back. First long trip with the booster....it really helped in marginal areas, but one stop in rural Idaho there was NO signal at all, so the booster cannot make a signal. It only boosts what it sees. It was recomended by a friend and it worked as advetised for us.:) YMMV Housted

RE: 12V Refer Conv. Kit by JC Refrigeration - Anyone used it?

What is the benefit of the kit vs just installing a 120v residential refer. The kit prices look to be from $700- over $1000. The big advantage to me was the fact that I keep the same cabinet and doors which match thr rest of the cabinets. No changes to the cabinets required. Runs on 12 volts thus no inverter required. Price for my kit was less than a replacement gas/electric absorbtion unit. YMMV Housted

RE: 12V Refer Conv. Kit by JC Refrigeration - Anyone used it?

I installed ours in May of this year. Could not be happier with the service and the results.:B Keep the same cabinet matching the rest of the interior but get the advantage of a compressor type (like a residential refer). I have 1300 watts of solar and 400 AH of lithium so the 8.5 amp draw is no problem at all.:B No more worrying about level or over heating !!:) Housted

RE: Anyone use Quick connect for water hose?

I use these on all my hoses....They are leak free and very secure. Banjo connector --> https://barndoorag.com/search-results/?search_query_adv=garden+hose+banjo Housted

RE: Need 12v refer Info

Based on the above video, I installed one of the JC Refidgeration 12v compressor unit in my Norcold N-821. Reasons... 1. keep the cabinetry and box the same 2. Runs on 12 volts and does not require propane. 3. Much better performance in really hot weather. 4. Relatively easy to install. Biggest problem for me was getting the refer out of the trailer, fortuately my neighbors son was here and could help me. We leaned the hard way to remove the doors and all shelves first...DUH.:S We used the refer on a trip to AZ where the tems were over 100 every day and it worked fine. I measure the draw on my batteries constantly and the fridge uses 8.5 amps. I must mention that I have 1100 watts of solar and 400 Ahrs of lithium batteries. We are sold on the conversion. :) Housted BTW the unit was cheeper than a replacement adsorbsion cooling unit.

RE: Furnace fan speed control

I did this several years ago and love it. I used this one --> https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07B4B2X35/ref=dp_prsubs_1 Works great, but really shows the change in speed with voltage change. Sometimes must run faster than we like to keep the sail switch engaged. Would do it again. :) Housted

RE: "Auxillary" Fuel tank vs installing a new/larger tank

I had the 52 gal tank installed over 5 years ago. It has worked flawlessly and is plenty of capacity. Current price is $1375 total. Aero Tanks in San Bernardino -> http://www.aerotanks.com/ Housted

RE: SEWER HOSE STORAGE

When I converted our 5er to 50 amp I was left with a nice little outside compartment where the 30 amp cord was stored. Added 3 small round vents to the door. It holds 2 10s and a 5 easily. Housted

RE: Question about the output from my DIY Solar

Get the remote monitor for your controller called MT-50. It will show the amps and volts from the panels and to the battery. Amazon has for about $30 works really well. BTW: I have one to monitor my 80amp controller and 1100 watt solar array. Housted

RE: Burbman Crosses over to the Dark Side....

We have much the same truck, but with the aisin trans. Wife calls it her caddy!! Absolutely love the truck, it took a while to find all the goodies it has. Had it since new...now has 40K mostly towing out 14K# 5er. Had a local company replace the stock fuel tank with a 52 gallon. Housted

RE: TorkLift Glow Step Resolution Install

We love ours....we have the 5 step model. We are able to make the top step the same rise to the floor of the 5er as all the rest. Housted

RE: 50 Amp Receptacle to Inverter

I have that one and have been using for 2 years.,,powers everything in the coach exept A/C.How often? A 3kw inverter should easily run your air if your batteries can do it. If I had the expensive hard start system the 3000 watt inverter would run it. But even with my LI batteries it would not run it for long! I have a built in Onan for use when I need A/C. I have 1050 watts of solar so the generator is vey seldom needed to charge the batts. We boondocked for 10 days in Jan in AZ and only had to run the gen on a rainy day.:) Houston

RE: 50 Amp Receptacle to Inverter

I have that one and have been using for 2 years. Works just fine and powers everything in the coach exept A/C. Draws a LOT of DC current for a short time to make coffee or run microwave. Runs her hair dryer just fine. Cost is reasonable. Housted

RE: 50 Amp Receptacle to Inverter

I did as many have suggested....wired a 50 amp wall mount outlet to the output of my 3000 watt inverter. I have a switch on the 110 feed to the converter so I can turn off when on inverter. Runs everything in the coach, but thr A/C. Don't have to have special circuits or anything. Housted

RE: Battle Born Charging

In January of this year we went from 420 AHr of AGM to 300 AHr of LI. Changed nothing else...Same solar (1050 watts) Same solar controller (80 Amp mppt). Biggest difference are: 1. saved 170# of weight 2. voltage drop througout discaherge is much more level and higher. 3. Had to re-program the solar controller for LI 4. Now turn off the converter at home and let the solar do all the maintain. I went with BattleBorn after seeing some youtube videos of their manufacturing processes and seeing one of their batteries disassembeled. Based on my experience so far I am not sorry for the change :B Housted

RE: Installing an automatic transfer switch

I plug my shore cord into the inverter and thus the xfer switch functions normally....cord/generator/coach. Has worked for years.:) Housted
