RE: 24 ft or less B+ with over head bed.

Not Ron but it may be,they have a completely different front suspension and the rear on mine has one less leaf spring than the E350 of the same vintage. I bought a 2006 Chevy 3500 based Tioga Class C 26Q, I test drove about a dozen or more of the same or similar types all on Ford E350 Chassis and just one test drive in a Chevy based one and I was sold. The ride and noise level inside with no banging was the greatest thing that I noticed.

RE: sewer line upgrade - need to replace cap and sewer hose

Dutch has good Ideas and I use the Rhino brand too.But I like a Clear Elbow connected to it so I can see if the tank is clean after dump and rinse As for the cap I like the ones with a handle, much easier to use with these old hands,Like this one it also comes in clear. the small cap is useful to drain anything into the hose doing away with that surprise when opening the large cap.

RE: Black Tank Dump Valve

I found that lubricating it during a dump as in this video works. I have used this method for many years to lubricate my valves and have had no problems with them at all. This Video will show how to do it

RE: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?

eldel,Very nice. Thanks for the picture, Looks like you have done a great job on the Mods that will truly make this unit your very own. Are those all new seats? That table apparatus in the foreground of the picture looks pretty heavy duty,I have not seen anything like that,Is also used to lift something? How does it work? Great job on all of this, please keep us updated on all the Mods that you make.I am sure that these will be very helpful to the others here.

RE: Safe T Steering Stabilizer

Thanks Guys! I had a through and accurate alignment from a truck center and they said they increased the caster as much as possible with stock Ford parts. I also installed a TPMS to monitor tire pressure. It still is a bear to drive especially with a cross wind or passing truck. I understand it is a high profile vehicle but I am hoping to find something to tame it down. I appreciate the replies! When an 18-wheeler overtakes your RV, the bow-wave hits the left rear of the coach first, and that pushes the rear toward the shoulder. When the body rear moves right slightly before the rear axle does, it amplifies the push to the left that you feel in the front causing you to correct by steering to the right. As the 18-wheeler bow wave moves toward the front of the coach, it pushes the front of the coach to the right, and when the body moves right slightly before the front axle does, it amplifies the steering correction you have already done causing you to have to correct to the left. This whole thing, if you are not used to the feelings, can be quite scary. One way to overcome that is to install Vortex Generators like Air Tabs They cut down on the dead air and drag on the rear of RV and greatly reduce the bow wave of passing trucks. I have AIRTABS on my Class C. They really help on a cross wind situation,no more sudden buffeting. It has stopped the sideways push when being passed or passing a large truck. They are a vortex generator that produce a counter rotating air trail several feet behind the vehicle, This airflow alteration improves vehicle stability. As far a mileage it may helped some but the stability they provided is amazing.

RE: Trailer or Motorhome...For a Boater/Fisherman-Which Rig?

Have you thought about a Toy Hauler? I saw one at Newport Dunes a few years ago, pulled up,dropped ramp and unloaded boat and trailer using a winch, left and returned with truck and launched the boat. Great fun to watch the launch ramp while having a bite at the Back Bay Bistro There were a few old posts here on the Net about that but the pictures have all gone away. I think there are YouTube videos too. You might ask over in the Toy Hauler sub forum, they are a pretty tight group and very helpful.

RE: Dry as a bone,…again

I would verify it too, mine says on the specs 30 gallons but it holds only 26. With 2 of us,we can go 4 days or more with a shower or 2. I do what others have suggested, but I also subscribe to what we out West, because of our long standing drought do. Something that was ingrained in us long ago," If its Yellow let it mellow,if it is Brown flush it down":B:B:B

RE: Buying a Former Rental Class C. How many of us out there?

Pepi's Mom, Welcome to the Forum and a future member of the Former Rental Owners Club. There may be a way to have access to the storage area thru the night stand,as One member did for a laundry chute,it is something to check out. There may be another place to use, under the couch by opening it up as STEVE-OTR did to store shoes,it may have room for the litterboxes. Just some suggestions to look at. Please come on back and tell us how it all went and your thoughts. Again Welcome and thanks for the post and also going thru all those pages....:B

RE: Need a new TV antenna

When I bought my RV it had a Winegard Batwing that was not working, I cleaned up all connections and tested to see if it was broken, it was,so I replaced it with a new bat wing then ran a Channel Scan I was not impressed with the amount of channels that I got. This was done in my driveway here in the south bay of So Calif about 30 miles from the transmitters, using my SensarPro. I then went out and got a Wingman add on, that put my channel scan up to 85,but I had a clearance problem with the Wingman,it would hit my A/C unit when lowered. So I opted to put a Jack Antenna Head on and my channel scan went up to 174 https://i.imgur.com/jo4c1hQl.jpg width=280 http://i.imgur.com/7ZrhCTUl.jpg]http://i.imgur.com/7ZrhCTUl.jpgheight=220 TheJack replacement head Is Cheaper than the Winegard replacement head I always get beat up by the techies, who will bring up a very old post that is not reverent now. The debate will go on and on, but I know what works best for me,in the real world.

RE: Need help locating a part.

I believe the OP is talking the rear factory sway bar. If that is so then the rear brackets would be These Brackets that attach to the rearend housing,I really don't see how they could fall off. If he is talking about the Rear sway bar end link this would be it. Both hold the rear sway bar up,I can see how this may break.

RE: Roof Vent covers

I also have used MaxxAir covers on all my Roof Vents for more than 10 years with no problems. For the one that has a fan I prefer the Fan Mate The clip system makes it easy to open up and clean when necessary and the 6 year warranty that others do not have. If you are looking for vent lids.First see what type vent lid you have using this https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51MRpzoL6xL.jpg For long lasting vent covers Polycarbonate ones are the ones you want. If you haven't done this before Here is a short video that will help you. You may need a new seal that goes on the metal edge this will make it a tight seal This is what you need Replace like this

RE: Broken waste ball drive arm - Thetford toilet

OK! Easy peasy. Done deal. Probably took less than an hour start to finish. On a different note, I was puzzled by what I saw when I looked down into the black tank with a flashlight. Not what I was expecting, but that's a question I will pose in a new thread. Good to hear, thanks for coming back and letting us know how it went. Now for that next thing.......Looking for that new thread!!!:B

RE: Battery & electrical questions

It would be good if RV manufacturers would include a placard that clearly states this kind of information including location of solenoid switches, fuses, reset buttons, etc. The proper operation of generator, converter/charger, transfer switch, chassis alternator, house and chassis batteries, etc., is critical to running air conditioning, furnace, fridge, microwave, water heater, interior lights, fans and entertainment devices.I wonder how renters figure this stuff out once the are out on the road. They can easyly find most of it on Instructional Videos in many languages or Instructional Manuals also in many languages.

RE: Another Redwoods Question

For sure visit the Visitors Center near the Burlington Campground,it is very informative on all aspects of the Redwoods, Then look at This map it will tell you all about the Avenue Of the Giants, you can download it or have a copy sent to you, that was my choice. That website has a lot of information on all the things to see on the Avenue Of the Giants. You can go to Myers Flat to the drive thru tree or for a adventure just go about 20 miles north to the Victorian Village of Ferndale, the main street has antique stores, art galleries, and specialty shops, quite a place.
