RE: Traveling with Propane on

Yes, we always ran with LP on UNTIL we stopped for fuel. I would pull over before we got to the station and turn it off at the cylinder. After fueling, I would pull out of the station, or at least away from the fuel pumps, and turn it back on. Then I would enter the TT to make sure the frig was lit again. Safety first!!

RE: Best cell phone provider?

Wife and I have different carriers. She has ATT and I have Verizon, so one of us will have a signal at 99% of time.

RE: Quiet door latch

I agree with Wildtoad above. Now is the time to TEACH them how to do things properly. This includes manners as well as care of equipment.

RE: Dry camping in SW Utah

Arches N.P. and Monument Valley are not SW, but are in Eastern Utah.

RE: Purchasing advice?

We just completed a 1700 mile round trip to Smoky Mtn. N.P. and every RV dealer we passed was jammed with units waiting to be sold. Don't believe the hype that RVs are "flying' off the dealers' lots. While at a Love's truck stop, I met a driver who delivers RVs. He said their business had slowed down as dealers weren't ordering any other than special orders.

RE: Good Sam Credit Card from Cometity Bank

I had an Academy Sports credit card issue by Comenity Bank and had nothing but trouble. Supposed to get a $15 discount on first purchase using their card. Academy would not give me the credit because Comenity didn't put a "code" on the coupon. Another example was a check I sent upon receipt of the bill. Next month, I got their statement and it showed I hadn't paid PLUS $20 late fee plus $5 interest. I hit the roof, called them, and they insisted they hadn't received it. My wife then paid online (which I don't like). I didn't use the card for about 3 months and got a statement showing they DID receive my original payment. Called them and they would not give me my 'late fee and interest' back. Horrible lack of service! I cancelled the card!

Great for target practice.

RE: OEM vs Aftermarket - Chinese JUNK Comparison

In your original post, you said you fought to "save" the vehicle from being totalled. Just curious why you would have wanted a truck that had been damaged so heavily?

RE: Antelope Canyon

That is near Clear Creek, isn't it?

RE: Slide design by Grand Design

Simply take it back to the dealer so the service manager can tell you "we're really swamped now so leave it, and we'll get to it around the middle of July."

RE: Yellowstone with pets

Neither you, the dog, or your neighbors will enjoy having him on this trip. He will be hot, lonely, barky, etc. You will be rushed, frustrated, concerned about him, etc. Your neighbors will not like his barking when alone, they will be concerned about his welfare in the truck or RV, etc. Best to leave him at home or board him in a town near YNP.

RE: Poor IT Management

You can change the name of your post to simply "Poor MANAGEMENT" as it all starts at the top. Since the owner is only concerned with income, the entire company gave up on providing good and accurate customer service. GS used to be so good!!

RE: Columbia River Gorge Hwy

I understand what a permit is. I don't however, know what a "timed entry" permit is. Do they only allow you so many minutes? Do they give you a required exit time? Hope someone will explain the "timed entry" aspect. Thanks!

RE: Columbia River Gorge Hwy

Sounds like it is just another fee for being there! Haven't been to Disney for 20 years so don't know (or care) how they handle crowds.

RE: Columbia River Gorge Hwy

Would you please explain what a 'timed entry' permit is, and why they have it?

RE: Min. black tank for 7 day Boondock?

Depends on your wife mainly. Some women use 1/2 roll of TP every time they are on the stool, thus having to flush several times to get it all down. My experience would say 25 gal. is enough for 3-4 days max. In 50 years we have never filled our black but the grey fills up in several days. Fresh can always be added....but then where is it going? Black or grey?

RE: RV Roof Damage (water leak???)

I doubt that your insurance will cover this as they would want to what occurance took place. You can't tell them what happened, when, and where.

RE: Idaho Campgrounds

I agree with most of the above advice. Too hot in August, Sept. better. Torrey's is a nice quiet spot and convenient to the Sawtooth area and Challis area. The area around Salmon and N. Fork is nice to explore and fish. Depending on what you enjoy, Idaho has it all, just in different areas. With your 4-5 weeks you could check out the Cascade/McCall area, then roam on up to CDL area. It's all beautiful.

RE: Custer State Park Sylvan lake 32’ tt

If the park told you 25 TT max then accept that and book in another CG in the park. Most of the others will be able to handle that size.

RE: US 12 Lolo MT to Kooskia Id

It is a good highway with good scenery. When you get into Idaho, it follows the river with many campgrounds. Don't know what months you are planning on but if spring or autumn you could have snow.
