RE: Flying J / RV Lanes

When I had my gas truck I would use google earth and look down on the stations and look for stations that sat on corners where you use the end pumps. Pull in use end pump pull straight ahead and go out other entrance. Not needing to go by the front of the store. He will get to the point as he drives by them what to look for. Jeff

RE: Bought a second truck.

Brings back memories. I bought brand new a 1976 F 250 four by four regular cab 360 CI and a auto with 410 gears. I came with Goodyear tires big block tread and 16 inch wheels. Check and see if they made two different front axles as mine had a much bigger front locking cap with six or eight Allan cap screws holding it on . Manual locking hubs. That year uses a slave cylinder for the power steering that was prone to leaking. I was used on the farm pulling loads way more than it should like 6 ton fertilizer carts or a pallet of seed corn in the bed 3300 lbs I had it 26 Years longer than my first wife 23 years. Wish I still had it Jeff K

RE: How's that 6.6 gas working for you?

Iv had a 2015 GMC 1500 6.2 eight speed with NHT package pulling a Keystone Bullet 30 ft. At around 6500 lbs. using a Equilizer 4 point hitch. Nice truck hated pulling trailer with it. Lots of power and plenty of payload. Trailer did not sway but could never drive without 2 hands on the steering wheel and would porpoise a little on bridges . Part of the problem was with that package came 2O inch wheels that are P rated with short sidewalls. I currently have a Grand Design 30 foot TT weighs 7000 lbs and a GMC 2500 Duramax same hitch. Absolutely love this truck see signature. Have towed over 20,000 miles with this setup. Rain wind mountains doesn’t matter. Been from Ohio to the Rockies 3 times and would not change a thing. 36 gallon tank gets me a range of 400 to 450 miles before I needed to fuel up. Most times I would just fuel up when stoping for the night. With the 6.2 gas1500 small tank it was every 200 miles hated that. I would not change a thing !! Jeff

RE: PUZZLER: Slides & jacks are dead

If your slides are rack and pinion there electric and your jacks may be electric also. Sure sounds to me like you have a electrical problem . First you need to do some checking with a volt meter what’s the resting voltage after a night of charging let them rest a couple hours and check compare to battery charts that are available on the internet. While your at it check the charging voltage also and compare to what your converter is rated at. Look at your converted and after making sure shore power is disconnected then tighten all the screws on the distribution board both sides. Something going on your batteries are not charging or bad converter. Could also be a bad frame ground or battery ground. Sluggish slides or jacks are almost always a low voltage issue.

RE: 30amp Gen/50 Amp RV Generator Help

Maybe your running through a surge protector that’s detecting a open ground . Other people have said if that’s the case you need a neutral grounding plug and plug it into one of your 110 outlets . Some one will come along and discripe this better
