RE: Interesting times to be shopping for my new truck camper

Full lockdown for the US could be coming soon. My daughter is a nurse manager and she told me yesterday that the doctor told her its coming. She said the doctor has a government security pass. I'm not totally sure its going to happen...just passing on info I have been told. The way the virus is spreading it looks like that is what will happen sooner or later.

RE: you like Torklift StableLoads? / Upper, lower or BOTH?

Several years ago I had a 4000 pound plus hard side TC with slide, mounted a Chevy 2500hd SWR short bed. I had Super Springs, Ride Rite Air Bags, Big Wig Sway Bar, Lower Stable Loads and 19.5 inch tires and rims. Took the Stable Loads off. I think the Super Springs, 19.5 inch tires, rims and Big Wig Sway Bar did the trick for the Sway. It handled very well. Only needed around 20 to 40 psi in the air bags. Really I had so much stuff/overkill that I don't think the stable loads would ever engage so it was a waste, but I do see where they can work if you allow them and not over due it like I did :B

RE: Seven Truck Camper Videos - Seattle RV Show 2020

Thank you for the videos. I'm a quarter inch over 6'4. I was looking at the newer Northern Lite 10'2. Was worried about the interior height after seeing West Coast Roller video awhile back. With your video gives me hope so I need to go look at a newer Northern Lite 10'2 and see if I clear the AC unit :). I wished Bigfoot would raise the interior height to 6'8 and give us a real queen bed 60x80. They are missing out on sales from us taller folks :)

Probably no need for any. I'm looking at Hallmark myself and have basically the same truck, crew cab, long bed with factory sway bar, 4140 max payload. You should be 1000 to 1300 pounds under max payload capacity once loaded. Let us know how it loads up and what you do.

RE: Raising TC Off Bed

Two different types of campers for a truck. One that sits on the bed rails and one that doesn't. I'm guessing you have a truck camper that doesn't sit on the bed rails, but sits on the truck floor. Camper that sits on the rails can be called a topper, cap, canopy, shell, camper shell. Some today have a small cabover. These ones with a small cabover are hard side or pop up/top. This type of camper clamps to the bed rails. This type of camper usually doesn't have jacks to lift it off the truck but there are some/very few on the market that do. Camper that sits on the floor of the truck and clears the rails is a truck camper. These too can be hard side or pop up/top. These would be easier to take off the truck using jacks. This type of camper uses tie downs to secure it to the truck. These are fully enclosed and heavier than the camper that sits on the rails.
