Fuel nozzle gets stuck

I just purchased a 2005 Winnebago sightseer 29R. Stopping for fuel in Oregon and the kid pumping gas had to fight to get the nozzle out and ended up smashing his thumb in the process. I put fuel in later that day in California and did the same thing. Third and last time I fueled up I struggled again to get the nozzle out. I made it without hurting myself that time. Im not even sure what I did to finally get the nozzle out. Im pretty sure Oregon and California have different types of nozzles so I don't know? Im worried that the next time I wont be able to remove it and have to call someone plus your holding up the line while you mess with it. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas would be great.

RE: The big purchase

Thanks. Yeah the part about the inspection is a great idea and one that would weed out the ones that know they are trying to sell a bucket of bolts. Im looking at ones that are in the 2004-2014 range with a slide out dining area and fixed or slide out walk around bed in back. Less than 30' and less than 100,000 miles.

The big purchase

last May I decided to retire and go full time RVing. Since then I have had my first yard sale and put my house on the market. They say that's the hard part. So if that's the case why am I freaking out about making the purchase of the RV? I want to get a used class C and pretty much know what kind of floor plan and length I want. I have been all over Craig's List, RV trader, E-bay and many dealer websites as far as 500 miles away. A lot of what I here is if you go private seller you should try and find one that is the original owner. So my question is if anyone would like to offer an opinion is. Would it be a good idea to post an add wanting to buy an RV? Something like looking for responsible original owner. One who has kept up with all the maintenance and such, willing to negotiate? It appears to be a buyers market for used RVs so screening the sellers may work? I have seen enough adds to kind of spot the scams and unknowledgeable sellers as well as cruise America adds (without even having to open the adds anymore)Any thoughts on this?

RE: Traveling and Workamping in Calif.... DMV info...

Looks like this topic is spinning off to the political side of things. I have lived in Ca. my whole life and have been paying tax's since 1975. With that said I don't plan on being here much when I retire and go full time RVing. So whatever I can do to save the outrageous tax and licensing in this state wont bother me in the least. And has anyone been to the DMV lately? I didn't think it could ever get more fouled up than it has always been but the state found a way to make it even worse. Anyway I wanted to see if anyone has seen the LLC in Montana adds to save on sales tax and licensing fees? Has anyone any experience with that option?

Bed alterations

Hi Im still in the market for my first RV. My question is about the models that have the odd shaped bed in the back corner. Is there any way to modify that maybe with a smaller mattress size so it could be accessed from at least one side? Climbing in and out from the bottom is not something I want to do if Im living full time in it. Thanks
