RE: CARB smog testing motorhomes Every 4months by 2024

Follow the money. It's better to collect a fee four times a year than once. Emission testing has out lived it's usefulness. Az. has a standard that you pass if tested below 40. Attendants could never tell me what the 40 meant. MY Powerstroke tests between .2 and 1.5 for 22 years at $25.00 a year. One emission tech thanked me for letting him rip me off. He had no answer when I ask when was the last diesel didn't pass. It's not government pulling all the polluters off the road it's manufacturers building more efficient vehicles. The consumer wants good fuel mileage & power resulting in cleaner burning. They have four cylinder cars doing what it took eight to do. They do a better job with half the pollution. A vehicle isn't going to start polluting within a few months without showing some kind of malfunction that an owner is going to fix without government hassling him..Only in California... Just an opinion.. Jerry

RE: Attempted truck theft - I hate thieves

I understand my F-350 full size 4x4 is a favorite mode of transportation across the Southern desert. They tried to steal the truck at a gun show. Only one door lock was damaged. I guess the mental giants got to thinking, what would the owner be at a gun show for? What mood would he be in if he saw someone stealing his truck and he was armed? If it wasn't for the ruined lock I would almost find it amusing how stupid some thieves can be.

RE: Maybe getting a longer trailer

I have a F-350 CC long bed and sometimes the swing length of the truck is more of a problem than the length of the trailer. If the 4 ft. additional trailer length is divided on the tandem axles you may basically have only a two ft. longer trailer for backing.... Just a thought... Enjoy your new trailer :~) Jerry

RE: Lubricant - Need Quick Answer

In my opinion silicon lubes are good for rubber or plastic like window channels etc. The best I have found for metal is Slick 50 Spray lube. It's hard to find but I just ordered some from Amazon. The first time I used it was on the screw jack on the trailer and the weight of the trailer pushed the jack back down. Not enough friction. I keep a can or two around ever since.. PB Blaster for penetrating..

RE: Onan Microlite 4000 shaft locks up on occasion

I've had almost the same experience. The generator wouldn't turn over to start. I reached in beside the unit until I could feel the motor cooling fins. I was able to turn it by hand a little and it fired up. It's done this a few other times.. It must have something to do with the position it stops..???

RE: Wild Animals

We've had different raccoons as pets. Imagine the results when a adult coon learns to open a cabinet and finds a box of corn starch?? On a fishing trip on Canyon Lake I slept on an air mattress & sleeping bag on the ground. In the middle of the night I woke up by something pawing through my hair. I knew it wasn't a mountain lion so I slowly looked up into the beady black eyes of a skunk a couple inches away. I slowly looked away and waited 'till he was satisfied. He had four buddies who just wandered through our camp, unmolested by me of course, then wandered off...Some folks are afraid of wild animals. They have no reason to harm a person unless a person threatens to harm them. They know they could be injured in a fight and not be able to hunt. Four coyotes cornered our 94# Pit Bull/ Mastiff and didn't attack. The dog was smart enough not to start anything. The occasion was mutually understood and ended.. It's a shame humans aren't that smart.. My uncle told me when he was a teenager he had a pet skunk that he took with him when he visited his buddy working in the kitchen of a fancy restaurant. The skunk wandered away from him and into the dining room. The women went into a screaming panic . That scared the critter and he emptied the restaurant. My uncle said he grabbed the skunk and got out of there.. It seems skunk stories are most all funny depending of your point of view. I've been sprayed once. Walking a game trail at night I didn't see him coming towards me. I brushed him with my foot and he brushed back. I had to bury my clothes. Not his fault ......

RE: Dog attack in Lancaster CA

Dogs always get the blame if they show any aggression and bite someone. They're smart and can sense danger that isn't apparent to their owner. She mostly knows what I'm thinking when it pertains to her. I've had Pits and Rotties for about 18 years. We have a 94# Pit bull/mastiff with a kitten personality but is protective of our property. I hired a roofer to fix a leak and she was more aggressive toward him than I've ever seen..I should of turned her loose. He was a scammer..Charged over $1000. and didn't fix the leaks. Call it my imagination, fantasizing, whatever, but she likes every stranger that comes to the house. I'm not suggesting she knew he wasn't going to do the job but I believe she sensed his mental personality. That's my story and I'm sticking with it..:) :). .
