RE: 170VAC coming from my Onan generator

Check the batteries and verify your meter is reading correctly by checking voltage from home source.
Just saying cause I had this happen to me once.

RE: Replacement Scare Light Bulbs

Scare lights aren’t annoying, it’s the owner of the scare light that’s annoying you.
You know what annoys me? Satellite dishes.
Especially those tripod mounted dishes.
Makes the campground look like the Jansky Very Large Array. :P
:):)
At least satellite dishes don’t bark...

RE: Water heater check valve

If you blow out, why do you not blow out the Washer also?????? What you do is, install a 1/2 gallon of antifreeze in the washer, set the water temp to Warm/Cold. Then when blowing out start a wash cycle. You will hear the 2 water valves blow air after the lines are purged and when the dump cycle activates, the antifreeze will go thru the drain pump. A lot easier. Doug
Thanks Doug I’ll consider that. I was just following manufacturers instructions.

Water heater check valve

I always winterize by blowing out lines then putting enough propylene glycol in the water tank to properly run enough through my wash machine. I went to bypass the water heater and when I turned the pump on I could still hear something filling in the heater tank....
Quickly realized the check valve was leaking.
Had I not happened to hear that I would have wondered where all my antifreeze went to after completely filling the water heater...
My rig is 15 years old something to think about replacing that check valve....

RE: For all you carpenters

I have honey bees and make my own equipment (bee hive boxes). I have so many boards that were cut wrong. Then I realized the book I was getting my instructions from had the wrong measurements. Now there is a updated version of the same book with the correct measurements in it.
Yes reminds me of some plans I had bought a number of years ago...For an Apple cider press...When I finally got around to building it several years later I called up the author of the plans to make sure there were no mistakes found in the dimensions.
Of course he said there were no changes and when I started the project I ran across several measurement errors in the plans which involved a bunch frustrating fixing.

RE: Power cuts out when pump runs (on DC)

I don’t necessarily think they are implying your batteries are bad it’s just that your voltage readings are of no help in trying to diagnose the problem with a solar charger in the loop.

Dometic r m 2862 duty cycle

Hi all, I have a pretty good understanding of absorption fridges but one thing I’m a little fuzzy on.
When I go to unplug shore power at home I always listen for the gas burner to kick in on my fridge...
Now, would I always hear the gas flame igniting or, if the fridge was “up to temp” ie, off of its duty cycle Would then the gas flame not ignite?
I’m assuming there is a duty cycle??
Please someone clarify this for me thanks!
