RE: Maine Coastal Campground Suggestions

Moorings RV park near Belfast is ocean front. Well maintained. Short drive into Belfast or Searsport. About an hour drive to Acadia NP.

RE: Winnebago Sunova Seat Covers

If they are Flexsteel seats, Lisa Bauer makes replacement covers of the material of your choice. I had her make covers from ultraleather ( not the cheap stuff the manufacturer used) Look under you seats for tags to see if they are Flexsteel

RE: electric RV appliances

Our 2013 Newmar was offered as all electric only when we ordered and bought it new in 2013. I was concerend about not having propane after having Class A's for 20 years prior and having propane refer/furnace/bbq grill/griddle,etc. Now, 10 years later, I have no concerns. Everything has worked OK, I did have to buy an electric grill, and now I have and electric griddle, air fryer, slow cooker and other odds and ends. Refer is huge and works great. Now, we pretty much always are at a FHU site in out travels, which are typically 8-9 months a year.

RE: Florida’s Forgotten Coast?

We stayed at Old Salt RV Park last year... Mexico Beach. It's a short walk ( couple blocks) to the beach. Park was very well maintained and clean. FHU, 28 sites. I don't recall any bike paths nearby. ON that same trip, we were able to snag a site at Grayton Beach State Park. Site had 50 amp and was more than large enough for our 43' coach and toad. easy walk to beach and bike paths are nearby.

RE: Class A gas - fiberglass roof? Who uses them?

When I ordered our 2013 Dutch Star a fiberglass roof was an option. I got it. I looked and current model has the fiberglass roof as standard.

RE: Black and Grey Tank Replacement

All of our RV waste tanks smell. The answer is to correct the leaks. Most likely you have bad air air admittance valve under the sink or lavatory. Richard I had stink in our coach.... it was due to the air admittance valve for the black tank rinse that was located under the sink in the bathroom vanity. I replaced it with a brass Watts valve instead of the $1.50 plastic item.

RE: External Fuel Tank for Generator

Find a different service guy... sounds like he just didn't want to do the work or maybe look into taping into the chassis motor fuel line. Just make sure if you do that, when running the genset, you don't completely drain the fuel tank , leaving you stranded. I've also read where some folks have accessed the fuel tank by cutting a hole in the floor of the coach... could be an option , depending on your floor plan.

RE: Sources for a new/used Jack-knife couch

I replaced ours with theater seating.... it was still in good shape,,, had never even been opened after the initial checkout. I ended up taking it to the dump. Check Marketplace and Craigslist... you may find one there.

RE: New Orleans in April 2024

We've been to them all... we still like French Quarter RV resort the best. Secure, easy walk to the quarter. It is noisy, with the highway and city noises. NO RV resort is a ways out, and at least when we stayed there, the shuttle they provided stopped running early ( around 7 pm I think) so they meant you needed to take a taxi/uber back ( $$$'s) or take the toad in ( $$$'s for parking if you can find it) .

RE: Florida to Maine

ferndale been everywhere---almost, LOL Considering your experience, another question for you. To break up the trip from Acadia to Shenandoah, we're looking to make two one night stopovers. Any suggestions on one-nighters along that route (84 to 81)? Thanks for the help! We stop at Booth Bay after leaving Mt. Desert Island. Stay at Shore Hills. --3 hour drive. After that we head to NY, 6 hours to either Gardiner ( Jelly Stone) or Newburgh ( KOA) . Then off to PA- usually Jonestown KOA. Then to Natural Bridge VA or Wytheville VA or Ft Chiswell VA

RE: HELP ASAP PLEASE: Re chassis/'house' dates on MH

I bought a used Pace Arrow Vision in 2000. It was advertised as a 1998 and the Indiana title and all accompanying doc matched that. When I checked the VIN for chassis it came back as a 1999. This made sense as it was a Ford V-10 and 1999 chassis year was the first year for that motor . Anyway, I bought it, when I titled it in Florida, they use the VIN, not the House build date, so my 1998 became a 1999.

RE: RV Axle Alignment Shop in Buffalo NY area

Run a string or straight edge between the tires on each side. It should touch evenly on both tires if the axles are alligned. If not, adjust as needed.

RE: Florida to Maine

We've been up here ( Bar Harbor area) since late June. Been coming here from FL for the past 15 summers. We stay at Narrows Too as they are very big rig friendly. They are open till 10/23. I would not use I-95 when you get north. Too much traffic. I go 95 to 26 to 81 to 84 then back on 95 . You avoid the messes around DC , NJ/NY.

RE: Air Bag Cost

Are you looking for parts prices/part numbers for DIY installation OR installed prices? Installed prices. ZF ( independent front end) bags were $400 each, rear bags, $300 each. 1 hour install labor for each one. This was at Gaffney last month

RE: Selling an RV/payment

when you cash the check do not walk out of the bank with all that money. have the bank issue you a cashier's check that you'll take to your bank to deposit. No, I don't want to deal with banks. My question was about cash transaction. Walking out is fine, as soon as the buyer isn't shady. I will not sell to a shady buyer, have pretty good spidey sense about people. Just want to make sure I won't be given fake cash, so won't sell to cash directly one on one. Banks parking lots are pretty safe, and I'd drive around to lose anyone who might be trailing me (I've been around some dangerous places in this world, know the procedure) 10 yrs ago , I sold our previous MH for about the same price you are talking about... guys came over, looked at it and we negotiated price... they went to their car and came back with a bag full of cash. Wow... I wasn't about to try to count it or check for fake bills... so we go to a local bank and they run it thru their machine which counted and checked for fake bills and all was good.
