RE: Opinion on a campground?

No, not right. But, guess not much to do about it if owners will not take care of reported problem. As you stated you are leaving due to problem, maybe you could ask if you can be moved to a different site away from the party goers for the remainder of your stay? Last thing I would know what to do... leave a review on or if you are on some FB RV pages, tell it like it is.

RE: Slide problem on possible purchase

Again, appreciate the help.... afraid to get into the "unknown" before a purchase. After a purchase, a lot different. Thanks, all.

Slide problem on possible purchase

I looked at a 2004 Winnebago Chalet Model 30BR today at a dealership. The owner said there is a problem with the slide, it will only go out so far and stops. His tech has tried to trace down the problem, but cannot find it and actually with all the other work lined up, dealer cannot let tech spend a lot of time on it. My question is if I would go ahead with this purchase on an "as is" sale, could this be a real costly situation to get into? I can think of a few things it could be, but I myself do not have the capability to fix anything like that. Thoughts?

RE: Rving coming to an end

So very sorry to hear about your wife's health problems. With todays modern science and technology, hopefully she will recover 100%. And, you will be back out on the road. The doctors told me my husband would never be able to travel again in 2008... we made a trip from FL to Branson, MO that winter and traveled until 2015 when he passed away... Don't give up HOPE!

RE: Temporary "driveway" over grass?

Paver addition (if HOA will permit) or for just a temp thing, I would roll down a big tarp, like the 20 x 10 or maybe longer, from Harbor Freight?

RE: Anyone know anything about Thousand trails? Good or bad

I have had the Zone Pass TT for going on the 3rd year now. I certainly have done good with it. By the end of this year, I will have spent like 70 plus nights for free (after paying for the zone pass.) I do not have the full-blown membership which can be quite costly. With ZP, you can book 60 days in advance, yes, up to 2 weeks IF there is availability. Cannot do 1 week here and 1 week there but can do 6 nights here and 7 nights there. I just booked 11 nights at a park in FL at Christmas. With the ZP, there are only a few parks in most states but if you plan your trip, it works out. You have to be out a week (not 5 days) then can go back in or to another park. So many different plans in the TT packages.

RE: Jesse has crossed the Rainbow Bridge

So very sorry, Crowe. Been there and know how hard the loss is. Hope your other baby can adjust. Your loss will be felt by the whole family. That decision is our last act of love for our babies, not to let them suffer.

I plan my own trip. Before RVing, did use AAA Trip Planner with destination.

RE: RV Furnature ???

Maybe a futon (have to watch length, tho) in place of a sofa? Or I see some purchase from IKEA? I think futons are now called Click Clack...

RE: Rapid City, SD area RV park

Chris's campground outside Spearfish, SD is nice. Heartland is nice in Hermosa, SD is nice. I stayed at Southern Hills in Hermosa (almost next door to Heartland) and it was nice, too. Not sure Southern Hills has cabins, tho.

RE: Christmas vacation

Pine Mountain Campground in Pine Mountain, GA and do the Callaway Gardens Christmas Driving Tour or they also have a tour. I did this a couple of years ago and it was great. I just got an email from Pine Mountain on "their package" for Christmas.

RE: Jesse Pt 2-coping with the blindness

So sorry... I am on two Cocker Spaniel FB groups. Blindness is fairly common in Cockers. From what I read, the best thing is not to move furniture. They do adjust rather quickly and most have a good quality of life even if blind. Their nose becomes their eyes and the scent of things becomes very easy for them to navigate. Good luck with your baby.

RE: New laptop?

I have had 2 Toshiba's and last year had to get a new laptop... cocker spaniel stood on keyboard and locked the whole thing up! Yes, my fault. But, I bought a HP at WalMart for maybe 200. Needed one with a CD (or DVD) in it for pictures I had on CD's and other things. This one is now about 18 months old and is literally coming apart. As far as working, it does what I need it to. And that is about all I can say. You get what you pay for.

RE: I'm hooked!

I think boon docking is great for those who have the set up and enjoy it. I have found COE campgrounds which I enjoy and the price is great for me, too. I do like to stay at commercial campgrounds every once in a while. COE has electric and water and a dump station. State parks are great, too. In 28 years of camping, think I have stayed 3 nights without hookups. Enjoy...

RE: 1994 pleasureway

I bought a 2003 PW with 78,000 miles on it. It was the best Class B and enjoyed it for 2 years. The fit and finish is fantastic. I was skeptical about the mileage but the only thing we did have to do was buy a battery and a new alternator for it. Would buy another if I could.

RE: Later and Later Check-in times

Traveling solo, it is hard to do a 4 p.m. or later check-in. And 6 p.m.? With the time change coming up, it will be dark and no way can I back this rig in by myself in the dark (can't much do it during daylight hours.. LOL) I was made to wait at a boat ramp in about 95 degree heat for over an hour until a 3 p.m. check-in. No generator. Late check-ins I have found to be mostly COE parks.
