RE: Tires

Definitely upgrade the load rating tires and always inflate to max PSI. That rating allows for heat. Under and over inflation leads to tire failure. BAD advice! Please explain. I have run max psi on three different trailers, all of them with "china bombs" and have not had one blowout or even a flat. Lucky I guess?

RE: Portable generators with auto start capability.

Thanks so much for recommending it. However, I decided to buy a Honda EU2200i after a few days of thinking. Here's is the link to the website that I order it https://www.rvweb.net/best-rv-generators-reviewed/. Because my RV is a little small so Honda is more suitable for me and it is also not too noisy. Good choice!

RE: Adding a vent to roof

I just did this to a 2016 Coachmen Apex 239RBS. I had the same issue of not enough ventilation in the front (bed area) of the camper. I do have a fan (small, one speed) at the rear of the camper in the bathroom and thought about just replacing that with the Fantastik fan, but I just knew it would not work as well as having the fan up front. My roof is nothing more than a sandwich of rubber over 1/4" luan plywood, 4" to 5" of styrofoam and the ceiling which is 1/4" luan. I used a magnet to locate supports (mine are steel) and they are 4' on center. I have ceiling lights that run in the center and length of the camper that I was able to get power from. The wiring actually lays on the ceiling in a hollowed out "raceway" in the styrofoam. They sell a vent install kit which will have butyl tape to use under the vent lip, mounting screws and dicor caulk to seal the top. So far so good. No leaks and nice air movement up front.

RE: Android question

Didn't want to disturb the Android vs. Apple topic so thought I's start my own - I've got a Samsung Galaxy S5 with 16 GB of memory, and an additional 16 GB microSD card installed. Is there any way I can move some of my installed apps from the internal memory to the SD card? The internal memory is close to full, but the SD card is almost empty, and I can increase the size of the SD card at will if I start to fill it up. Open up the list of apps, open each app and it will show it being installed on internal memory. If it can be moved to the sd card it will show the option of moving it. I have found that most apps will only work on internal memory and cannot be moved to the sd card.

RE: 25ft Toy Hauler Suggestions

Anyone aware of any that length with slide outs? Grand Design has one with a bedroom slide, it's 26'11" hitch to bumper. Looked this one over real good and really liked it, but dealer started talking out of both sides of his mouth and killed the deal. Edit for length

RE: Chevy C-5500 Kodiak Duramax potential safety issue!

Had this happen to a work truck, it would occasionally sound the alarms and die when taking a curve fast. Topping off the surge tank seemed to help until one day I could hardly drive the truck even with a full surge tank. I ended up replacing the sensor at the bottom of the surge tank, problem solved. You'll have to get the sensor from a dealer, the only place I could find it.

RE: Black Tank--Borax?

I’m always amused that some of us go to great length to clean/super clean the black tanks just so we can poop in a clean tank, and do it all over again. X2

RE: Micro Air Soft Start for AC

Even with microaire voltage drops to 97 volts, when starting the Dometic 13500 air conditioner with a Yamaha 3000 Sieb. If I add the load support feature on the Magnum to the mix, voltage still makes a huge excursion down and the red over load light triggers on the Magnum remote. Further, I had to "tweak" the cut in voltage on the autoformer to cut in at 113 volts, when on shore power after the microaire was installed. If I were to do it again, I'd save my pennies. (i.e. I "fixed" something that was not broken.) ? I had no problem running my 13500 with a 3200 subaru with no easy start or even a start capacitor. I bought a honda 2200 for portability, would only start with eco off if the conditions were right. Installed the microair and can start the ac with eco on no problems.

RE: Inverter Generators

I had the Honda EU200i and was happy with the performance. I didn’t like having to clean the carb so many times though. It ran my smaller RV a/c just fine on eco mode. The a/c is stock with no types of easy start mods. Its time to buy a new one. I see a number of Yamaha units. The part numbers seem to be advancing rapidly which puts me on alert.. EF2000i EF2000is EF2000isV2 Then i read on some air conditioner easy start page to stick with hondas as they use a 120cc displacement versus like 80cc for the other brand 2000 watt units. They said all generators that have a 2000 written on them are not the same. The yamaha has the pet **** which might make it so i dont need to do the carb cleaning all the time. Then i hear all the talk talk about harbor freight predators, but i guess you have to get the unlimited warranty? What do you guys think? Get yourself a Honda 2200, has a 121cc motor and a fuel shutoff.

RE: 1st time boondocking and could not get our AC to work

I am thinking we may need to install some sort of Hard Start Capacitor.. Thoughts?? I wouldn't waste the time or $$ installing a hard start cap which will only result in a marginal improvement vs installing a Micro-Air Easy Start soft starter kit on your A/C. Quite a few forum members now own an Easy Start and report excellent results. X2. I just installed the easy start on my ac and could not be happier with the results. I can run the ac on eco setting with a single Honda 2200.

RE: Battery Chargers

If you have a modern 3 stage converter, you can leave it plugged in year round and not worry about destroying your batteries. Just keep an eye on your water level.
