RE: Black Tank--Borax?

I’m always amused that some of us go to great length to clean/super clean the black tanks just so we can poop in a clean tank, and do it all over again. X2

RE: Micro Air Soft Start for AC

Even with microaire voltage drops to 97 volts, when starting the Dometic 13500 air conditioner with a Yamaha 3000 Sieb. If I add the load support feature on the Magnum to the mix, voltage still makes a huge excursion down and the red over load light triggers on the Magnum remote. Further, I had to "tweak" the cut in voltage on the autoformer to cut in at 113 volts, when on shore power after the microaire was installed. If I were to do it again, I'd save my pennies. (i.e. I "fixed" something that was not broken.) ? I had no problem running my 13500 with a 3200 subaru with no easy start or even a start capacitor. I bought a honda 2200 for portability, would only start with eco off if the conditions were right. Installed the microair and can start the ac with eco on no problems.

RE: Inverter Generators

I had the Honda EU200i and was happy with the performance. I didn’t like having to clean the carb so many times though. It ran my smaller RV a/c just fine on eco mode. The a/c is stock with no types of easy start mods. Its time to buy a new one. I see a number of Yamaha units. The part numbers seem to be advancing rapidly which puts me on alert.. EF2000i EF2000is EF2000isV2 Then i read on some air conditioner easy start page to stick with hondas as they use a 120cc displacement versus like 80cc for the other brand 2000 watt units. They said all generators that have a 2000 written on them are not the same. The yamaha has the pet **** which might make it so i dont need to do the carb cleaning all the time. Then i hear all the talk talk about harbor freight predators, but i guess you have to get the unlimited warranty? What do you guys think? Get yourself a Honda 2200, has a 121cc motor and a fuel shutoff.

RE: Chrome won't run.. fix

I fixed my chrome issues by dumping it and installing Mozilla Firefox.

RE: 1st time boondocking and could not get our AC to work

I am thinking we may need to install some sort of Hard Start Capacitor.. Thoughts?? I wouldn't waste the time or $$ installing a hard start cap which will only result in a marginal improvement vs installing a Micro-Air Easy Start soft starter kit on your A/C. Quite a few forum members now own an Easy Start and report excellent results. X2. I just installed the easy start on my ac and could not be happier with the results. I can run the ac on eco setting with a single Honda 2200.

RE: Battery Chargers

If you have a modern 3 stage converter, you can leave it plugged in year round and not worry about destroying your batteries. Just keep an eye on your water level.

RE: Selling on Craigslist or other web site Scam

I sold a camper trailer and vehicles on craigslist in the past and there have always been some scammers but they're pretty obvious compared to locals who want to actually come look. Just deal locally and it's pretty safe. I'll admit to carrying a pistol under my shirt whenever I have anybody at the house for a look, though. If I really wanted to be careful I'd probably arrange a meeting at the local police station which is what they ask people to do. X2

RE: I am TRYING to buy and RV from you all. Not easy!

I look forward to the day when Rv/auto/truck sales are one price, and that's the price. Isn't anyone getting tired of this sillyness? Remember Saturn? I bought one just because of the fact that you knew exactly what the price of the car was.

RE: Dual 6 volt GC2 batteries and charging characteristics

Keep in mind that upgrading a wfco to something else is usually going to include upgrading the wiring between it and the batteries, unless you're lucky enough to have large wire from the factory. In my case I prefer to use a portable charger.

RE: New Yamaha EF2200IS

I can't find any info if honda has started selling the 2200 again, anyone? I see some for sale on cl and fleabay, but I assume those are probably recall. The recall involves variations of the EU2200i of specific serial numbers so any with a serial number outside that range would not be subject to the recall. Thx. that's what I was thinking. I asked a couple of sellers for serial #'s, but apparently they think by giving those out they are giving away top secret info?!

RE: New Yamaha EF2200IS

Also ... note it's specified noise range of 57 dBA up to a maximum of 65 dBA ... while the Honda EU2200i's noise spec ends at a full power noise level of 57 dBA. That's quite a difference between the two generators. Doesn't the Yamaha cost about the same as the Honda? Depending, yami can be $150 - $200 less. Not sure about the noise level, do they all use the same sound testing location/company, or is it done in-house? I would really like to see a side by side test.

RE: New Yamaha EF2200IS

Thanks all for the input. I question why Yami would knowingly put an undersized engine in their genny when they are in direct competition with big red?? Getting more hp from less cc's??
