RE: Lodge Cast Iron Griddle

My Wagner (i.e. pre Wagner Ware) 8" frying pan is my most used item. I use it every day. Restaurants up here use the 9" Lodge griddle for items they call sizzle serve. :B

RE: Cape Breton Island

2 areas I really liked are the very northern part of Cape Breton - at least 2 days of walking. & the Fortress at Louisbourg, at least one day of visiting many parts of that community and finding out what made it so special in the colonial era. Cabot Trail - well I used to live within 1.5 hours of Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland. & that has at least 100 x as many places special to Planet Earth over the NS park. You see in the Gros Morne Days the locals insisted on being a part of the park and still are. The Feds insisted on taking local settlements away when they set up the Cape Breton Park. Though, yes, Cape Breton has scenery and music. :C

RE: Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island

IMO big IMO, best place to visit is the reconstructed Fortress of Louisbourg on Cape Breton Island, NS. Plan a day. There are eateries and restaurants. (the 1st from labourers tradition and the 2nd from the upper crust ways of the 18th century) Guides are in costume of the place they serve. :B https://www.cbisland.com/louisbourg/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuo_Sx67I4AIVy1YNCh0N0wtdEAAYASAAEgI7DPD_BwE

RE: Nova Scotia or Prince Edward Island

Remember when crossing to and from PEI, you pay when you leave. There is a ferry and there is the Confederation Bridge. The ferry costs more. Be sure to get your provincial guides and maps from each province and state. Go to www.google.ca, use search term name of province or state and tourism. Each has its own map, which gives you information you won't get on the commercial maps. :C

RE: California registration cost question

Well now, when I first the title read it seemed wrong. I still think that. CANADA is a country. California is a state. If Nebraska could change it's abbreviation as a courtesy to our province of New Brunswick, why can't California be equally mannerly and considerate. After all online for Canadian sites is ".ca" "Calif." registration would be more clear and more considerate. Please consider. :P Some of us wish CA was a separate country.... My brother lives in San Jose. I know that. & such thoughts don't just happen in Quebec, Ca, but Alberta and......

RE: Seeking Advice on Atlantic Provinces Trip

A) https://icebergfinder.com/ B) Go to NL in mid May. Some years many of the icebergs are gone, gone, gone by early June. Other years they are going by NL all June. You never know what kind of a year it is. BTW, lived in NL for 24.5 years retiring in 2008. Ferries have changed since then. You can do lots of logging roads as well as paved roads. Road repairs from winter go on mostly in July. You will want to return, especially to do at least 2 weeks in Labrador. Quebec, check on when the construction workers holiday 2 weeks is. Often it is 1st 2 weeks in August. Other years it is last week of July and 1st week of August. All construction workers are on holiday those 2 weeks. New Brunswick and Maine. One can drive to Campobello Island. There is a ferry from there to Deer Island, then to Grand Mannan Island. I've done Campobello and Grand Mannan. & used to own land near Lubec, ME. The Maritimes is NB, NS, & PEI. Atlantic Canada is those 3 plus NL. Take Ferry to PEI and bridge from. You pay when you leave. The ferry costs a lot more than the bridge. Have you checked the tourism sites for each province? More if you want it. :B

RE: Bird Watching

I watch birds world wide. Here at home I find them by walking or driving, but not in groups with binoculars. The Internet has given us so much on birds. I catch sites in middle Europe and the UK, Of course in all of N. Am. & Hawaii, but somehow not S. Am. There certainly are great sites in the line of Mississippi Flyway or Loon nesting..... I catch them in AU and NZ, but some how not the rest of Asia or currently in Africa. There is a little peregrine in Melbourne, http://www.367collinsfalcons.com.au/, who is one of 3 hatchlings and the last almost ready to fledge. Florida and Gerogia look like they are working from nestorations to egg laying. If folks have sites to fill in more of the world, I would welcome them. We learn so much via these days. :B
