RE: Water Pressure Regulator

^^I agree, there is a reason the Watts regulator costs more. The RV Guard model looks like the Valterra regulator. Bad thing about a cheap model, just more expense, when you decide to toss it, and get a proven high quality one. Myself...I quit using any, just fill my 60 gal fresh tank as needed, and have a great, consistent water pressure. Nice too, in case you ever have a water leak, you catch it right away. Jerry I curious....How long have you used this approach, and how many water pumps you replaced? I like this idea, but am always hesitant to, as I'm concerned that the water pumps they put in RVs, like many other RV components, aren't meant for prolonged use. I'd be concerned that if we used the water pump all the time for everything water related like you are advocating here, we'd be replacing a lot of water pumps. How has your water pump held up under this kind of constant use? I full time and use this same method. That means the pumps are used A LOT 365 days/year. I do have 2 pumps pumping at all times but I don't think that makes too much difference other than some additional water flow. I usually replace 1 pump or the other every 3-4 years so that's a pretty good run considering the amount of use they get.

RE: Covid in RV Parks

My brother is a doctor and yes, the flu is causing positive Covid responses. Look at the number of flu deaths reports last year and it's nearly zero as they were all reported as being Covid (in error).

RE: Covid in RV Parks

Keep in mind that if you have the flu or Covid, a Covid test will produce a positive Covid result. It's really hard for anyone to tell the difference so you have to look to your symptoms (loss of taste and/or smell being the biggie) to figure out what kind of sick you actually are.

RE: Strange Gray Powder

Silver will oxidize? We call it "tarnish," but it is still just oxidation. However, it does not flake off any white powder and it's highly unlikely it has plastic handles. None of my silver has ever left a white powder no matter how long it has been between cleaning.

RE: Replaced "Kingdom", any value?

We are such hoarders! We don't need it, can begin to imagine what we would use it for but we can't get rid of it. Just look at all those storage facilities full of unused, unnecessary "stuff". You would be better served to drop it off at Goodwill and see if someone might be able to use it.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Normally, when brushes are used up, people just throw them away. It would seem time would be better spent working on the MH instead of taking the bristles out of junk brushes, but your project, your time I guess. :S Was cleaning up. Spent 2 minutes pulling bristles and taking a couple of pics. Not a big time waster. Too many computers to work on this week, as well as trying to get ready for an upcoming (hopefully) trip out west to my brother in law for his birthday. If I post about the trip, is that going to get deleted? I certainly hope so. I don't need notifications that you have posted about something completely off-topic. Nothing to stop you from posting elsewhere in an appropriate topic if you think it's RV related somehow.

RE: directv genie

We use the Genie and and H25 but I think the Genie and a client would be more effective as everything you are watching is also recorded which does not happen with our current setup. We also have a Trav'ler and it was a simple upgrade when the Genie first came out.

RE: Strange Gray Powder

Silver will oxidize? He never suggested he had sterling silver utensils only that we all call silverware (knives, folks, spoons) was in the drawer. He even mentions they have black plastic handles.

RE: directv genie

If Winegard told you they can, they can. However, it really doesn't matter. Where ever you get it you will be "sold" a leased receiver that remains the property of DirecTV and you will need to agree to the same 2 year contract.

RE: Dish Satellite Dish

Just get the antenna mount plumb and level and use a compass or pointing app on your phone. Set the skew first and then move slowly in the correct general direction. Some needs to see the signal strength on the TV screen and communicate with you.

RE: directv genie

The Genie will work with the Trav'ler or home style antenna on a tripod but nothing else.

RE: Dish Satellite Dish

We currently have 2 Wallys in our motorhome that we use with a Winegard t4 satellite dome. We hate that each Wally is confined to one satellite. We have now bought a rv lot to use and want to install a fixed ground based satellite dish that receives all 3 satellites and will allow each Wally to watch any satellite. We have dish hopper 3 at home and the installer stated our Wallys would not work with the satellite dish at home. What type of dish and lab should I buy for the rv lot. Thanks For your RV lot you install the exact same antenna type you have at home and use your Wally's or you can bring your Hopper/Joey setup from home when you travel.

RE: Dish Satellite Dish

We used to use the Dish Pathway X2 . . It allows you to watch ALL 3 satellites and will work on eastern arch or western arch. It also has 2 output ports - 1 for the main, and 1 for secondary. The issue will be that whatever satellite the MAIN receiver is on is the satellite that the secondary will get stations at the same time ..SO, if your watching 2 TV;s and all is good.... IF the person on the main receiver changes the channel to watch something different, if that show is on a different satellite, the person watching the secondary TV will loose their signal. I believe that's what the OP was trying to explain he hates and is why he wants a standard antenna with 3 LNB's.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

So there is going to be a 6" roof overhang around 3 sides of the coach? I sure don't want you to start 10 more pages of testing posts but aren't you concerned how 80-100 MPH winds (combined driving + wind speed) might effect that? No reason to mention the amount of damage that is likely from tree branches and the like!

RE: Newbie Question on wi-fi

While you will hear bad comments about the Winegard omni directional TV antenna, that's not a Winegard problem. Omni directional antennas are best described as being equally bad in all directions.

RE: Satellite Dish question

To add to that thought, the folks who ran MotoSat before MotoSat went out of business are the same folks who started RF Mogul. Not sure who is running the business these days but I know some of them have now retired.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

I think you are overthinking the shower pan. What you want is access under the shower pan. As long as you have that you can secure the pan and put the walls in place permanently (leave wall access as well to that plumbing) and leak free.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

Considering that he just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary, retirement should be being enjoyed. Instead he's working hard on this project and his computer repair business. Maybe that's what keeps him young!

RE: 2005 Fleetwood Providence 39S

40 feet long (about 35 inside) (45 feet, add a bit more), 8.5 wide (about 8 feet inside) 280 SF. Add any flooring you plan to put in one or more slide outs and you would be pretty close. You will likely have a good deal of waste so add 25% to ensure you have enough matching material.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

But 5 years with no end in sight!? The wife is the real hero to have this thing sitting in her driveway (or yard) for this long and longer. This is no rebuild, it's a complete reinvention and we still don't know if it will even run.
