RE: Super Basic Solar Upgrade

Not "super basic," Tim. Do it once and do it right. Other than wire, here's a complete system from WindyNation nearly identical to mine:

RE: need help with electrical

Yes, according to the seller everything was hunkydorie. Why would a seller install new batteries?

RE: Battery maintenance

Your generator is adequate but it takes a long time to fully charge RV batteries...bulk is fast but absorption phase to float....2 to 3 hours. The “power” of your recharging system isn’t usually the limiting factor. Batteries accept less and less as they fill. Solar would be far easier.

RE: Camper jack torn off driving

No picture! You can repair the wood part but can you replace the skin that you’ll need to peel back?

RE: need help with electrical

RV batteries charge while driving when wired properly but not a bunch. What is the age of the batteries? They do eventually fail and not recharging fully daily shortens their life greatly. Solar is the easy way to recharge. 6.35 volts is a full 6 volt battery.

RE: 1976 Ford Midas

The market for a fixed up 45 year old RV is limited IMO.

RE: is forest river rockwood mini2506s a good buy

The four feet won’t make much difference but a slide will.

RE: Best tow vehicle for our rig

You and your family will just need to accept that when pulling 7500 pounds (wet/loaded or 8700 if that’s a dry weight) you’ll go slower...and for safety you need to go slower.

RE: need help with motor size

“but do not want to join the 40 mile per hour tops crowd” For many new motorhomes on a steep grade that’s about all they’ll do.

RE: Need some help with equipment to boost internet

Weak signal or lack of campground bandwidth? I’ll bet the signal is okay.

Americans need to respect Canadian law and closed border.

RE: Charge across 2 6V batteries is 11.78. Is that right?

Two full six volts should read 12.7 volts after resting and you need to get them there daily for a long life. Solar is your answer.

RE: Tire trucks

Since OP won’t tell us what surfaces he drives on, how much weight he carries and pulls, his level of road noise tolerance or even specific truck until asked, I’ll pass on tire recommendations. This isn’t poker and you can reveal your cards.

RE: Large camper with single AC

With everyone apparently running their A/C in the park, how was the voltage?
