Anyone have a 2018 Keystone Cougar 29 series 5er?

SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) is looking at a used Cougar 29RES. If someone has one of the 29's (any floor plan would do) I'm looking for info on the hitch height. Specifically, when the unit is sitting level, what is the measurement to the bottom flat plate portion of the kingpin? Trying to figure out if a 2017 F-250 4x4 is too high to tow this on the level. Any other general info on this model line would be appreciated.

RE: Good Sam recent experience

Good Sam has promised to reimburse for the service and to address the problem internally. I'm satisfied. And over 10 or 12 years, I've used the service 4 or 5 times and this was the exception, not the rule.

Good Sam recent experience

Yesterday (10/27/2019) at 11:09 AM EST, we had reason to call Good Sam Roadside Assistance for help. Our 5th wheel camper had completely lost a tire, rim and hub assembly. We provided the original contact with our name, plan number and the details of what the problem was. This one call continued for 39 minutes! We spoke to 3 or 4 different staff members who each asked the same repetitive questions, name, number, etc. Quite frankly the impression being given was that none of the staff members knew what a 5th wheel was! Call ended at 11:48 with promise of call back. Having heard nothing we called Good Sam again at 12:35. After 10 minutes we were told that we weren’t covered for this problem but by furnishing credit card information help would be provided through a “mobile mechanic”. A 2:30 ETA was given along with their phone number. Good Sam never called back after the 12:35 call. At 2:40, having received no help and no phone call from either GS or the “mobile mechanic”, we called the “mobile mechanic”. Some company called FYX Fleet. They had no record of a call from All-State (their term for Good Sam calls) and after 15 minutes of research advised they had no one in the area who could help. At that point we contacted a local tow company who arrived promptly, helped secure the broken axle and escorted us off the interstate to safety at Campers World. To say that I’m disappointed in Good Sam is an understatement. As a member for 11 or 12 years, I thought I understood what I was paying for and what level of service and responsiveness I would receive when I called. WRONG! Will be chasing reimbursement - I'll update as necessary.

RE: Removing a B&W gooseneck from F-250

Wow! Learned a lot in a hurry. That Demco product would be the perfect solution. BUT my hitch is a slider. And the Demco product page says it won't work with one. Need to check on that further, And thanks to all for the plug suggestions - never thought there would be so many required that it would be on amazon.

RE: Removing a B&W gooseneck from F-250

I prefer a standard hitch and will install the base crosspieces myself. Just can't picture running around with a hole in the truck bed! The deal I can see on the frame rails says it's a B&W setup. So probably not original OEM.

Removing a B&W gooseneck from F-250

Looking at a used 250 with the B&W gooseneck setup. I know how to remove most of the hardware but is there some neat and simple way to cover the hole in the truck bed? Anyone else done this?

Looking for replacement AM/FM/CD unit

Our 2002 Holiday Rambler has one of those wall mounted combination units near the door. About 9x9 and an inch thick. Wiring enters through the backside from the kitchen cabinet. Most of the functions have died over time. Anyone make something similar I could attach and splice in? Looking for ideas. Thanks!

RE: 2007 Holiday Rambler Alumascape 32SKT

Holiday Rambler was an excellent brand. They hold up well. Like every other manufacturer they have gone of out business several times and who ever holds the current rights to the name would know nothing about your particular unit. Try and get someone intimately familiar with RV's to inspect and give their opinion. In my personal opinion that price is extremely high. Try for some comparisons on the various used RV sites.

RE: External TPMS recommendations?

We've settled on TST. Seems to be suitable for our needs. I had hoped that Amazon would have it on sale during prime day, but that didn't happen! So, we'll pull the trigger next week at their current price of $297. Thanks again for the tips and guidance!

External TPMS recommendations?

Be mounting new tires shortly and decided it would be worthwhile to upgrade to a TPMS system for monitoring. There seem to be hundreds of different types available. I'd prefer to have one that reads both pressure and temp if possible. Looking for recommendations from those of you who have one and like it. Thanks for any input you can offer.
