RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Too bad there wasn't one closer to me in Utah, would have enjoyed meeting everyone. Guess there's not that many on here out West. Well we did have one out west some years ago, in Colorado. That was the only one we could get to as we were both still working. Now we're retired, and in Florida with a new 5er, we could be game for another!

=Martyn Burch - where in the panhandle are you headed? We are going to Navarre Beach. We are staying at Santa Rosa RV resort. It's a little pricey but we have a place on the water. We really like that area and it's been a couple of years since we've been up there. Burch Definitely pricey but worth it if you have a lot on the water. It's a beautiful beach, only about 20 miles from Panama City Beach. Have fun!

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good Morning FOOFs It's been awful quiet here lately. I hope everyone is doing well. Everything is the same here. Monty and I am both getting fatter so we need to go on diets. The other two fur kids are doing well. We are planning a trip to the panhandle next month. It will be my first week off since we went to Sevierville last year to meet many of you. I am looking forward to getting away from work for a week. Burch Sure has been quiet here - hope all are OK. We just dodged Hurricane Sally, but still had 18" of rain and 50mph winds for 3 days. Pretty much passed now. Last year I posted that we were giving up RVing and we fretted about what to do with our 13 year old, and feeling her age, 5er. Well, things can change! We pulled her out of storage, cleaned he up, and traded her for a new Cougar 27SGS. She's sitting in the driveway now and, after all that rain. she doesn't leak. We will be doing some short trips to get her and us ready then plan on doing some exploring of the SE USA. Burch - where in the panhandle are you headed?

Richard - very sorry to hear of the passing of Brenda - she is with the Lord now. Sgt Joe - so sorry for your loss of Cookie, I know too well how that feels. She is at the Bridge waiting for you.

RE: Weight of air vs. Nitrogen

It could also be because there is more tread on the new ones! :)

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Hope all is well with everyone - no posts in 6 days makes me fret! As for me, having vocal cord surgery in a couple of hours. Fingers crossed! Richard, I sure hope you are doing well.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good afternoon everyone. I am getting stronger. Still have the heart monitor and so far nothing is showing up. I still feel tired and want to sleep late in the mornings. Still having trouble with eye sight. but hope that is cured in time. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug and be sure to tell someone you love them. I wish you a blessed day. Stay strong Richard. We are all getting older and we have to keep our faith! :) I have been suffering from hoarseness for quite a while and Dr today found a nodule on a vocal chord. Have to have surgery for a biopsy soon. I have Sarcoidosis in my lungs (this is a genetic condition that causes crystallization of the lymph nodes) and he is concerned that it may be a very rare occurrence on the vocal chord. We shall see, but at 70 I expect these things to come up. We regroup and move on, eh? All the best! Martyn

Burch You got my attention about the electric bike until I saw the price. Actually it was me. ;) Sorry about that. I really liked the idea of the electric bike until I saw the price. Boy that was an attention getter. Maybe someday I will be able to purchase one, but for now it is long way off, There are many available that are a lot cheaper but, as always, you get what you pay for! Fortunately we were in a position to be able to get them and have not regretted it. )

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Richard - I was like you with my bicycle - especially after having both knees replaced and a lung condition. I splashed out on an electric bike. Not fully electric (although it can be if I so desired!) as it has a 6 speed and works just like a regular bike - but has a twist grip to add electric power if needed. When I started riding it I used the electric a lot, but now I find I use the assist only for helping with inclines and head winds, or if I have gone a long way and need help getting home (it has a 40 mile range!). As a result I am now actually cycling/pedaling more than I ever did with my old Trek 21-speed! It is a Pedego Comfort Cruiser. Not cheap I must say, but worth looking up if you are interested. I bought the one that has the low crossbar (ladies version if you like) as I had the same problem as you, in getting my leg up and over - I fell too. Liane liked it so much she has bought one too. Now we cycle every day instead of maybe once every couple of months. :)
