RE: iPhone AT&T Watch TV App - Cast Without Internet??

Thanks for the replies. Good to know the iphone HDMI adapter works with Prime. From what I can gather it's blocked by all the other major streaming services like Hulu, ATT Watch TV, etc. It is usually blocked on them, which is why the only proven one to work (I know, as I have one)is the Apple one I linked to. Now I admit, I have only used Prime on mine, so can't speak for the others. :) It still does act like it's blocked if you connect to the TV and then try to start a video. It gives you an error message. I get around that by starting the video on the phone and then plugging in the lightning connector from the 'dongle'. Works every time. Hope this helps.

RE: iPhone AT&T Watch TV App - Cast Without Internet??

I don't have AT&T but use an iPhone8. When we go camping I download whatever we want to watch from Prime onto my iPhone. You can keep a program at least 72 hours after you have started watching it, but you can keep them up to 30 days before you watch them. I bought an adapter for the iPhone that has an HDMI cable socket. iPhone adapter.. There are cheaper ones on Amazon but a lot of reviews say they don't work. This one is from Apple and works fine for me. You start watching the downloaded/saved program on the phone and it can be watched on the TV once the HDMI is selected. I found that if you try to start watching with the cable already connected it gives an error message, but if you start it on the phone and then plug in the cable it works great! No need for internet/Wifi at all. We are loving the way we can take multiple programs and watch at our leisure.

RE: Turning Point pin boxes on new campers!

Cougar kitchen storage (ie pantry) was an issue for wife (happy wife, happy life). Any concerns in that way in your experience. We are planning a return trip to Keystone considering turning point issues. Yes, that is an issue. However, for just the two of us we find that the cabinets and drawers are more than enough storage space, once you get organized. We had a pantry in our old Chaparral and it was nice to have. DW is pretty picky about things and this was her only issue, but having been on multiple trips now she says all is OK! :B

RE: Turning Point pin boxes on new campers!

Unfortunatly manufacture will not ok removal of pin box and Lippert made Turning Point Pin boxes oem only. They will not match any other pin box as they will not bolt up. I am perplexed due to our search being for shorter lighter 5th wheels. After further searches I found major brands beginning this trend. The Cougar Half Ton Series are 'shorter and lighter' - as you want, and they have a Lippert pin box - it has RotaFlex, which is a rubber cushioning at the hitch point. We love it.

RE: Receiver Bike Racks

Thule Made in Sweden I think is very good quality. I use mine all the time. It is so solid I can use it to stand on going in and out the back door of my truck camper. It also has a built in tightening nut to stop the wiggles. It swings down when not in use. I got an rv type bike rack for free and only had one single bar to hold the bikes. It was not right as the bikes would swing side to side. So I got the Thule and they all have two bars. Very high end with excellent quality stretch bands to hold the bikes. I would look at Thule. I second this. We have had a Thule T2 Classic 2 for 14 years and have carried two bikes on it behind our 5er with no problem. Well worth the money. Best product out there.

RE: Hitch Stablilzers

I use this one from Amazon. I have used it on my 3,000 lb boat and it is great. No movement at all. Used it for horse trailer, hay trailer and motorcycle trailer. All rock steady. Hitch tightener

RE: Coachman Chaparral

I had a Coachmen Chaparral for 13 years. Floors never were a problem. Had one piece of delamination on bedroom window.

RE: Streaming Amazon videos?

Clarification on how long you can keep downloaded videos from Prime. Per Amazon: You have 30 days to begin watching the video after you download it and once you start watching it, you'll typically have 48 hours to finish watching it.

RE: Streaming Amazon videos?

All of my newer Smart TV's already have the prime App then all you need is internet My way doesn’t need you to have internet at all. You download over WiFi at home and then just play from your app.

Mark Twain Natl. Forest, MO

Looking to head to this area for a meetup with some friends in June next year. Any recommendations for good camping spots in this area? We will be 3 5ers all about 35ft. Looking for full hookups and things to do. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

RE: Books for first time RV owners?

Last week while camping a new TT pulled in alongside us in the evening. They unhitched the trailer, leveled front to back with the front jack, then put out the awning and turned on all the led lights, then got in and went to bed. No chocks, no stabilizers. Fortunately the site was only a small gradient. Was going to talk to them but we had to pull out early in the morning before they got up. They sure need some instructional info!

RE: any Cougar 2020 315 RLS owners out there

Hi...I have a quick question. I would like to know which brand of TV came with your unit. I believe my dealer pulled a switch on me. All the reviews I seen on video's about the RV's have 4K tv's and mine is a cheap non 4K westinghouse brand. Any help would be appreciated We just bought a new Cougar 27SGS. It has an LG 4G in it. I was surprised at this and asked the sales folks if this was standard. He said that it was normally a Furrion brand, but they had to use the one from this trailer in another which they had just sold and which was not working - the Furrion manual was still in the packet. They went to Best Buy and bought the LG for my trailer. Sure glad they did, because I would have switched it out for an LG anyway! So, yes, dealers pull switches on these thing.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning FOOFs We are camping in Navarre Beach Florida in the Santa Rosa RV resort. This place is a little pricey but it is very nice. We have a spot on the water. This is our first week off since last October when we traveled to Sevierville. I am hoping that work leaves me alone this week. We are planning a trip to Destin today to do some touristy things and eat lunch. There is an Irish pub that we are going to. On Mondays they have a Sheppards pie special so I'm going to try that. Not sure what else we will do this week. We will be heading back home on Friday. I wish this wasn't so far from our home as we really like this area and would come up here more often but it's 500 miles from us. With only having 3 weeks of vacation time, it really limits how far we can travel from home. I hope everyone is doing well. Burch Glad you like our area! The Irish pub in Destin is fun. The whole of the ceiling and walls are covered in dollar bills. :) WE usually keep clear of that area as they have been working on US98 forever. I call it the world's longest construction project! Next weekend we are heading north from here to Three Rivers State Park for a few days in the new 5er, to get all the 'kinks' worked out :)
