RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Dr Doug I know this is off topic and I can send you a PM if necessary but my little Chihuahua is having anal gland issues again. He had a ruptured anal gland 6-8 weeks ago and my vet put him under so he could clean his glands. He was doing much better and now he is back to licking his rear and he doesn't want to poop anymore unless I walk him outside on a lease for a long time. The last time this happened he turned very "needy" and had to be by your side at all times and he is doing it again now. Is there anything I can do to prevent his glands from getting impacted? He has never had issues with this until recently. Burch

RE: Mopar wiring harness on 2020 Wrangler

I used the CoolTech harness on my 2011 2dr JK and will be putting this one on my 202 2dr JK Cool Tech 2018-up JK wire harness Thank you for the info.

RE: Mopar wiring harness on 2020 Wrangler

The Mopar wiring harness is 82215382AB. It is a lot of work to install and you have to be careful with the electrical plugs since the directions are not very clear, but it works well. I used the Cooltech harness on our 2012 Wrangler, but the current harness requires you to remember to flip a switch. Wow, they are pretty proud of that wiring harness. Over 3 times what I paid for the 2015 JK harness. Thanks for the info.

RE: Mopar wiring harness on 2020 Wrangler

You may need also need the harness that enables EPS when being towed. Call the dealer to see if it's available. Search death wobble on for a ton of information. I don't think these are needed on Wranglers but I have heard about the death wobble on Grand Cherokees. I think the electric power steering might be different between the models but I will definitely check. Burch

Mopar wiring harness on 2020 Wrangler

I currently have a 2015 2 door Wrangler setup to tow behind our motorhome. My wife's old 2014 4 door Jeep was also setup to tow. She traded in her Jeep last year on a 2020 and it's not setup yet for towing. I miss being able to take her 4 door on some trips when we have our nieces with us. The 2 door is very cramped. On my 2015, I have the blue ox baseplate and I have the mopar wiring harness for the lights. Does Mopar make a wiring harness for 2020 Jeeps? When I search, I find the same harness that I purchased for our 2015 but I have been told that harness won't work with the JL Jeeps (2018 and up). Burch

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

He posted a few hours ago on Facebook. Saw a weasel in his yard last night. Thank you for the update. I tried to find Richard on Facebook after the last rally but didn't know what his Facebook name was. Glad to know he is doing OK. Burch

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

No posts in 10 days. It seems this long running thread might be coming to an end which I don't like! I guess I am guilty as I haven't posted in awhile but I check in all the time. The fur babies are doing well. They have the life of royalty. They get everything they could ever ask for and get to sleep all day. They don't have to worry about the issues in the world or whether that will get a meal each day. I know a lot of dogs don't get that kind of life but mine sure our spoiled! Richard, I hope you are doing OK. I miss your daily postings. I know your health isn't what is used to be but we would sure like to hear from you. I am so glad I got to go to Sevierville almost 2 years ago and got to meet several of you. At least I got to go to to the last Old Fella event. I hope everyone is doing well. If you get a few minutes, post a message so we know you are OK and people are still reading the Old Fell thread. Burch

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good Afternoon FOOFs! We haven't taken a trip in the motorhome since early February but have a weekend trip planned this weekend. I'm going to try and leave around 2pm or so on Friday and we are heading to Palm Harbor Florida. I will be visiting a friend that is a snowbird that will be heading back up north in a couple of weeks. I am staying in a new to me RV park so I am looking forward to checking out a new area. Little Pinto (our Chihuahua) had to have minor surgery last week. He was bleeding from his behind and was not feeling well. We took him to the vet and one of his anal glads had ruptured. He had to take some meds for a few days and then we took him back to the vet so he could clean both glands. Was only about a 20 minute procedure (they had to put him under) but the poor little guy was in a lot of discomfort (he is only 5lbs). He is back to his feisty self now and I am so happy to see him back to feeling good again. I hope everyone has a great day. Burch

The first two years we owned our motorhome, we had SAFECO for insurance. We had the full replacement policy. After the first year, the insurance went up more than $500 and then the 3rd year it more than doubled in price. We ended up not renewing and went with another carrier. I never did have a claim so I can't comment on that. I think most insurance companies give you a decent price for the first year and then start raising prices at renewal time. If you get a good quote, I wouldn't hesitate to use them as I have not heard anything negative about them not paying claims. Just keep in mind the price increases as renewal time.

RE: What competes with Baystar & Open Road?

I know many on here will frown on this because it's made by Thor but we really like our Miramar. It is basically the same thing as a Challenger, but the models are a bit smaller (ours is a 37'). The Miramar's are probably more mid level but we were set on getting a Baystar until we saw the Miramar at a local RV show. Have had it 4 years and love it. Burch

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Awful quite on here lately. Yes, it has been quiet. I hope everyone is doing well. The wife and I have not been in the motorhome much lately as we are very busy with our jobs. We do have a weekend trip planned for the weekend of April 3rd and 4th up in Palm Harbor Florida to see a friend before he goes back north. Our doggies are doing well, but getting older. Our two Papillons are going to be 11 years old in July. It's so hard to believe they are that old. Seems like we just got them. I hope everyone has a great day. Burch

RE: Ford V-10 vs GM Vortec for towing

We live in Florida and usually tow on flat land but we did take a trip last year up to the Smokey mountains and towed my wife's Jeep that I estimate is about 4500lbs. The Ford V10 did a great job.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good Morning FOOFs I haven't posted in some time but I try and read this forum every morning to see how folks are doing. I know a lot of you are waiting on the COVID vaccination. All my friends here in Florida who have signed up for their vaccinations have already gotten their first dose. My next door neighbor is scheduled to get his second dose on Friday. I just turned 50 so it will be awhile before I am eligible. Right now you have to be 65 or over to be eligible for the shot in Florida. The wife and I have a weekend trip planned during the Super Bowl weekend. We are going to the same place as we did last Super Bowl weekend. Last year was a lot of fun as everyone's sites were decked out for the team they were rooting for. Will be interesting to see how this year plays out with COVID. I hope everyone had a great day. RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I'm sorry to hear about your son Richard. I have a friend that is bi polar and it is like she has two personalities. One day she would be a very sweet person and the next day she was angry and spiteful. You never knew which person you were going to get. I hope he can get some help. Burch

Can't help you with the message but they did a great job fixing our foggy windows in our Motorhome earlier this year.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Merry Christmas! Cold front came through last night and we are only supposed to have a high of 58 degrees here in West Central Florida today. Even colder tomorrow. Too cold for my Florida blood! There are freeze warnings tonight in the area. Hoping all the local famers make out OK. Burch
