RE: The world of tow vehicles would be a better place if

Biggest problem with the F450 besides the rear-end is the fact it generally has a lower cargo capacity than an equally equipped F350 since the overall Truck is heavier.

RE: Satellite Dish question

It's hard to eliminate SD as many small independent stations don't broadcast in HD. The rumor has been floating around now for several years even with specific date for it to happen, and it hasn't happened yet and doubt that it will.

RE: Calculated MPG

I don't stress over MPG, but I have checked that my "Lie-O-Meter" is pretty accurate. So I do reset the DIC at each Fuel-Up just to make sure there isn't any big change to indicate a possible problem.

RE: synergy tires

Sutong China Tire Resources is what I found for the Parent Company.

RE: Towing capacity

Doesn't really matter, many are just looking for one poster to say "You'll be fine, I've done it for 20-30 years", doesn't matter that others have laid the numbers out saying they can't or at least shouldn't, as long as they get one "Good to GO" they're gone.

RE: Where are all of the snowbirds?

All the Snow Bird are basking in the Sun and don't have time for this, too many Happy Hours and Pickle Ball.

RE: Wifi options

If you have NO Cellular service I think you're out of luck until Star Link gets fully established. If you can get some cellular service probably Verizon or AT&T phone or Jetpack would get you the most service. We have a Jetpack with Verizon and have had very few places where we couldn't get online and we've been as far North as Alaska and Newfoundland and most everywhere in between.

RE: Are the HP wars over?

Just wait, GM has a 500 HP Duramax coming out in '24 or '25, maybe sooner. I went from a 397 HP '11 Duramax to a 445 HP '18 Duramax and to be honest didn't really see a huge difference pulling our 19.5K Fifthwheel.

RE: Windows 11

Presently the upgrade is a free download, but I assume that eventually when they start shutting down Win 10 they will be a charge for the upgrade. I've done both of our Lap Tops with no issues.

RE: KOA Installing EV Chargers

I think we're all going to pay for this stuff even if we never use it. Just like paying School taxes even if you don't have kids, everybody pays.

RE: Carrying extra fuel in Canada

When we went in 2014 I carried two 6 Gal Diesel containers between the Hitch and Tool Box. Even used them several times just to be on the safe side.

RE: Wheel Pattern for 2006 Open Road 5th Wheel

Don't know if you can get 17" wheels to fit the trailer, the normal upsize from 16" is the 17.5" wheels.

RE: For those with no bathroom access during travel mode.

In the Age of Covid we avoid public rest rooms like the plague. Yes we pull into the Rest Areas, but use our own facilities as we know who sat on that seat last.

RE: Sailun tires

I was hoping to get 5 years out of my GY G114s, but one blew at 4 1/2 year, lucky it only took the Plastic Fender Skirt. Now have 2 year old 17.5 .Sailuns and already lost a section of tread on one and it's made in China and before the recall date. So maybe the change was made in China before Vietnam.

RE: Garmin RV GPS

I like my 785 with the built in Dash Cam, and it's 7 inch screen is plenty big enough for me without totally blocking the view.

RE: For those with no bathroom access during travel mode.

It would be a deal breaker for us also. With our Front Bath it just requires us to roll over the bed to get there, mush easier than trying to put the slide out.

RE: towing with ev6

OK, how many EV charging stations has everyone seen where they Camp?? I don't recall a single one. Now I guess if you can use a stand-a-lone charger like an electric Golf Cart you could charge overnite, until CGs catch on and start charging for it.

RE: Automatic Transfer Switch

I concur, Generator is the primary input on mine. Can be connected to shore power, start the genny and it switches from shore to genny.

RE: Do's and don'ts of towing a loaded 12" tandem behind 5vr??

The quickest and easiest setup for a small trailer like that would be to install a Surge Brake setup.

RE: Sailun tires

So far as I know, I'm the only one who has had a section of tread separate on a two year old China made Sailun S637 215/75R17.5. Like the others tire never lost air and didn't even know it happened until a day later as that section of tire just disappeared with no damage. I switched to the Sailuns after a 4 1/2 year old GY G114 blew and did some minor damage.
