RE: Ram 2500 only carries 2300 lbs.

I would say typical pin weights run 500 to 1000 pounds over the brochure dry weight, maybe even more depending on location of storage areas and floor plans.

RE: Anyone pulling a Montana 3120 with a SRW short bed?

Everyone always says Duallys are no good in snow. When I was still working, my Dually was my "Go To Vehicle" during snow storms. Now I did have approx 700 or 800 pounds of sand bags in the box all behind the axles. I traveled 50 miles one way to work in Rochester, NY with Lake Effect from Lake Ontario. If roads were real bad, slow down and put it into 4 wheel high and motor on passing all the little 4x4 SUVs in the medium.

Yes they'll pay up to the limits of your policy. It's the follow on Civil Suit by those Lawyers that advertise on the Tele getting Millions for their clients.

RE: Fuel mileage

I don't fret over my MPG, but I do monitor it because a sudden drop can indicate a problem that might be resolved before becoming something serious.

RE: Why is 5th wheel standard vs Gooseneck?

Not everyone has all the cameras, but I can see my fifthwheel hitch in my rear view mirror, but not the floor of the bed.

RE: RV furniture by LCI

Ours was also peeling, but reupholstering wouldn't have fixed the sag from the springs. Replaced with new from Lambright Custom Chairs of Topeka, Indiana.

RE: Fuel mileage

For easy planning, figure 10 MPG and you can't go wrong.

RE: Air Bag Pressure

My Dually rides much better when loaded than empty and I'm on OEM suspension with no add-ons now pulling 19.5K.

RE: Anyone towing 5ver with lifted truck?

I can see lots of sparks at night with the rear of a 5er dragging going down the road.
Many of us will still drag a little entering some fuel stops and that's with unlifted TV and level 5ers.

RE: Fuel mileage

Pulling 19.5K average 10, some times a little less, some time a little better.
'18 Duramax Crew Cab Dually. Got just about the same with previous '11 Duramax Dually with same trailer.

RE: Montana Front Living question...does the bumper hit often

It's just the nature of the Beast. We travel level with our 43' unit and have dragged a few times. You just learn to be careful with driveways and other dips in entrance ways and such.

RE: TireMinder i10 TPMS

Good Travel Friends were running a Tire Minder and totally shredded a tire and didn't know it until a passing car pointed towards the rear of their RV. Pulled over and nothing left of the tire, BUT the Tire Minder still showed good pressure. They switched to a TST shortly after.

RE: Blue DEF

I had a 2011 Duramax that I put 115K on and used the cheap stuff, I.E. Walmart Brand most of the time. Only DEF issue was with the two original defective NOx sensors.

RE: 2021 Ram 3500 H.O.

OK, at 37,100 Lbs towing that would equals 7,420 pin weight at 20%, don't think any have increased their payload to handle that. Those BIG towing numbers generally only relate to Gooseneck trailer that have way less pin weights than fifth wheels.

RE: Axle Ratio, new truck

Here's the 1st gear ratio for GMs 6 speed Allison and the new 10 speed:
New 10 speed 4.540 : 1
Old 6 speed 3.094 : 1
So with the lower first gear the 10 speed will give you the same overall pulling power with the taller differential gears.

RE: Fifth Wheels with an onaboard Onan

We started with a pair of Hondas, but for just a few hours in the evening I had to drag them out set them up and chain them so they could walk away, then after use had to wait for them to cool down before re-storing. They worked, but a PITA. On board, push the button and have power, when down just push the button again, don't even have to go outside. But will admit that good for long term usage.

We can self isolate in warm climate just as easily as in cold, so we haven't changed any of our plans.
