RE: Question for those with an Auxiliary diesel fuel tank

Please what type of filters? Most filters require pressure to pass the fluid through the filter. What being talked about here is gravity feed system with no pressure to force the fuel through a filter. I suppose an old style bowl with ceramic element would work, has that type on all the old farm tractors we had on the farm and their fuel systems were all gravity feed.

RE: Traveling with Propane on

When we had our TT and a Gasser TV, I would just pop inside and turn the fridge to OFF quicker and easier than turning both tanks off.

Not facial, but I have several small scars on my back. Just get checked twice a year.

RE: Getting propane tanks in and out

Nope, no Olympic Weight Lifter. Just grew up on a Farm and we also ran a small Saw Mill and Lumber business. But time has taken it's toll and can't even think of doing the things I did when younger. But I can get my tank back in, yes it's a struggle but do able, wouldn't want to do it all day long.

RE: Getting propane tanks in and out

Maybe I should have added that I'm a 74-year-old Female and can still manage to get a 40 pounder in and out, just don't have to do it often.

RE: Tight turn across narrow culvert?

Are you turning off a narrow two lane road, preventing you from starting the left turn from the far right shoulder?

RE: Credit Cards For Fuel Discounts

I'm currently using the EFS/TSD Fleet card, only good on Diesel at major Truck Stops. Doesn't work at Pilot/Flying J because Marcus has a Good Sam deal with them, if Life GS member 8 cents of Diesel and 6 cents off Gas, but works at Loves, TA, Petro and some of the other big names. Discount varies by station with an on-line app showing stations and the discount. Just saved $50 on a $280 fill-up. This is not a Credit Card, but more of a Debit Card as it has to be tied directly to an account.

RE: Getting propane tanks in and out

We use very little Propane, current tank in use was opened in 2019 and still has gas. We have a Residential Fridge and an Induction Cook Top, so only Propane appliances are the Furnace and Hot Water Heater. Wintering in Central Florida for the cool weather we use the Electric Fireplace Heater and Heat Pump on both AC. So filling and lifting our 40 Lb tanks isn't very offen.

RE: Traveling via B&B/hotel vs RV

We like knowing who last sat on the toilet. We do pull into Rest Areas on the Interstates, but don't use the facilities for the same reason as already mentioned.

RE: 5th wheel front tripod

MORryde now sells a unit similar to that Valterra unit, but inserts into the rear Receiver Hitch

RE: What Upgrades needed for a 3/4 ton pickup

Then you would have a Diesel and not a Gasser, the down hill part was tongue and cheek.

RE: What Upgrades needed for a 3/4 ton pickup

Maybe it's just me, but not sure I would be trying to pull a 14K Fifth wheel with a gasser unless it was all down hill.

RE: Motor Home GPS Phone AP

Well either of those apps keep you off a road with a low over pass?? Last I looked neither of them offered the ability to enter height, weight, and length.

RE: Motor Home GPS Phone AP

I'm running the Garmin 785 with the built-in Dash Cam. It connects to my phone for traffic updates while traveling. So sort of the best of both worlds.

RE: GM 6.6 & 3:73

Then sorry can't help. Last gasser I had was a 1987 Silverado 1500 with the 350/5.7 On my third Duramax 2005, 2011, and current 2018 pulling three different Fifth Wheels, but very close to the same mileage with all combinations.

RE: Will a 3/4 ton do

Come on Guys, we all know that these "Can I tow this or that with what ever" don't want actual honest answers. They're only looking for that answer that says "I've been doing it for X number of years". Once they have that answer there're gone happily on there way, regardless of all the negative truth full answers.

RE: GM 6.6 & 3:73

Before I can answer, are your talking 6.6 Gas or 6.6 Duramax Diesel???????? Will make a huge difference in the answers you get.

RE: Do you unhook for the night?

Again, It Depends. If hooked to shore power and have a GM the RV's converter will actually be putting a charge into the TV Batteries while also charging the RV's. If not on shore power you would be draining the TV's batteries also. I believe with Fords there is a battery isolater on the charge line between the TV & RV, so no issues hooked up or not. Rams I know nothing about.
