RE: Rear Kitchen - good idea or bad idea?

Your local dealer is a fruit cake as he/she wants you to buy what floorplan they have in stock. Get the trailer you desire and suits your needs... That right there is the Absolute and Final Truth.

RE: Sharp reverse turn with Equl-i-zer hitch?

Wow, all these years with a Equalizer and i didnt realize i had a problem until now. Maybe i dont back up at what you all are referring to as a 'sharp' angle.

RE: Full Time Living Recap (Almost 1 Year)

You gave it a shot in a way that worked for you, and found out that it isnt for you. I see no problem with this, even if you had lost significant money (so long as you could afford it, of course). How many people are out there wondering 'what if' they had tried it. We made a list of WHY we wanted to go fulltime. I wont go into details as our situation is unique, as is everyone else's. But anyone thinking of going FT would be well served to have some (at least) vague idea of what they'd like to get out of the experience.

RE: Star Link

I am holding out till they get a version that I can use in my RV. Currently, the home stations are geoblocked so that the system doesnt overload if too many people move into a small area. As the satellite network fills out, that will go away.

RE: 4 seasons toy haulers under 5000lbs dry weight?

I've done 20s regularly (with above freezing daytime temps) in a TT with a slide (now Theres a leak point) so i wouldnt think that would be a problem for you as long as you are careful with your water/fluids. I seem to remember seeing a couple of models recently that advertised ducted/heated underbelly. Sorry, cant rem what they were but the were in the 21-22' range.

RE: Has camper quality gotten any better in the last 10 years?

Our previous TT was a early 20teens and we have been shopping seriously the last couple of weeks for a new one. They look the same to me as far a quality or the lack of it goes.

RE: Nomadland

I got the sense of the movie that altho it can be a tough life, its a life that some choose because nothing else suits them as well. It also showed how folks help each other out. Lots of angles to the movie, which is why it won the awards imo.

RE: Wix for blogs: Do I start a blog or a website?

Interesting thread and timely to my interests. Thanks all for the ideas and info. ((i am looking at making a website that updates our travels so that friends and family can follow us as they like without a constant stream of emails back and forth. i dont really want return traffic and indeed may just password protect it anyway. and, like Bob, just for the fun of doing it.))

RE: Gmail Reverted to Portuguese

Hi Ed! Good on you for using Proton VPN. I have used their email since they were in beta and love their privacy policy. Do you use them for mail too? As to VPN usage, does Proton VPN allow you to force select your country you are routing thru? That could fix any language/measurement unit problems that arise (if your prob is indeed caused by that). I use Nord VPN and often country-surf just for the heck of it. I am just going by stated policy re Google, Facebook, and the rest who actually come out and say that they harvest and sell private info. I have no prob with anyone who wants to do that, just that everyone knows what they are doing. Someone once said that if you cant figure out who is paying for a service, then the answer is that You Are. Google/FB/et al get a lot of money selling targeted advertising.

RE: RV Magazine

From chocking to TP, it sounds like the mag may have fired anyone who ever RV'd and hired only internet-experienced writers.

RE: New post on bike carriers

From my many years of rv'ing if it is "RV rated" then it must be cheap junk ! Guy Sadly, i agree that is god's own truth. Theres plenty of good options for hitch mounted bike racks. We'd never had a problem with Yakima or Thule.

RE: Tennessee state parks

If you have a reservation and dont see anyone/office is closed, go ahead and Camp! Otherwise, just stop in at the office and go from there. I have yet to get/need a reservation at a TN state park, but i tend to go when its not crowded. (btw, Cove Lake SP mentioned above is an Outstanding birding park for those interested)

RE: Gmail Reverted to Portuguese

Are you using a VPN? I have seen language and measurement units change routing thru different countries. Agree with all re de-googleing (and de-Anythinging that sells your personal data. all you gmailers are aware that google reads and harvests info in all your gmails, right?).

RE: CG in Central FL With Golf Cart Access to Stores

There are some small 4-wheelers that are/can be street legal. Not sure if there are electric ones, but that may be an avenue to investigate.

RE: South Lake Michigan

Wow. Just... wow! As someone who grew up in Michigan and who tries to get back nearly every summer to the beautiful lakes and trees of that state, my mind is boggled! How in the world can anyone visit all 49 of the other states and miss this gem? I hope you decide to leave about 3 days earlier and tour Michigan. You'll skip the horrible Chicago traffic by driving up the Lake Michigan side, over the mighty Mackinaw Bridge, and through the Upper Peninsula. Many great sights to see along the way. Then follow US 2 westward! (edit: I've assumed you are doing this in summer weather. If you are contemplating an imminent departure, forget what I said... Michigan is probably just white right now.) I was floored also. MI is in my top handful of states to visit. And you are doing yourself a Tremendous disservice by not spending some time in the UP. I had never been there until i attended an in-laws wedding in Marquette but after that I look forward to going back as often as possible. I just avoid the cities.

RE: Getting Started - Longer Distance Camping

Another vote for taking the dogs. Just like children, they are part of the family and should be trained to a minimum social standard before being allowed in public tho.

RE: Heavy Duty leveling block suggestions

Well I was going to say i use the composite porch decking cut and stacked to appropriate sizes, but then you put the qualifier that it had to be in the weight range of a 37 footer (which i have no expereience with), so i wont say anything. ;)

RE: Rear Deck System Worth It?

What you folks are missing is that Everyone must agree with Everyone else or then you are Wrong and/or a Drooling Idiot. I think this is some kind of rule in the terms of service for the Inturweb or something.

RE: Stone Mt Ga

We enjoyed the laser show, assuming they still do that. I seem to remember some controversy some years back about it being un-PC.

RE: Dishes for RV

We use paper also. Call me Captain Evil if you wish- i really dont care what people think. Ummm. Quite the chip on your shoulder already! No one is calling you Captain Evil. I don't see anyone judging just presenting different views. We all have our standards as to what we think is acceptable resource use. Was making a joke via taking something to its silly extreme. Sorry if i offended you. If you use the 'Advance Setting' to post youcan include emojis to let others in on your joke otherwise your post comes across as 'serious' *like yours did) ;) :W :p yah, i'm usually just too lazy when i'm being flip tho. hitting that advanced posting button is just SO much effort on us retired folks.
