RE: Dishwasher install issues on 2016 Fleetwood Excursion

In place of the oven, I think you can just get the stove top portion of the oven rather than trying to figure out a counter top. Ours has the old fashioned style cooktop with front controls, but no oven underneath. Atwood Cooktop

RE: Here is something for you Class A people to upgrade to

I knew once Porsche introduced a 4-dr and SUV, it was a slippery slope from there :) Beautiful coach.

RE: Help finding fresh date Tires

When I bought mine we discussed the "age out" before "wear out" issue and the dealer was sympathetic. He ordered 8 new tires so all had 6 week fresh date codes.

RE: Car Trailer behind a class A MH

But then again why not just book 2 spots at the cg then ?!? That may be OK for a real slow campground, but I haven't seen a real slow campground in the last several years and it really sucks to see people booking sites for their toads and boats! Especially river or lake front! Just my vent - many campgrounds forbid it anymore.

RE: Very Bad RV Wreck in Oregon

Forget about the guardrails, just a shoulder would have been nice - yikes! Those are white knuckle roads.

RE: Coach battery size/model

Inverter? He means your charging system aka converter Not everybody has an inverter/converter combo device in their installed : their RVThat's true, in retrospect I don't think the Vista 26HEs had an inverter. Thanks for pointing that out.

RE: Coach battery size/model

If you do go to AGM batteries as Ed Gee suggested, you may have to change the settings on your inverter to AGMs.

RE: Washing clothes while underway

We like to do laundry while running down the road. If I remember correctly, we have to run back and restart the washer and/or dryer if I happen to shut the generator off and restart it for any reason.

RE: Refrigerator question for you class A campers

Ours came factory with a 20 cubic foot residential fridge, (6) 31 series AGM house batteries and a 2800 watt inverter. If we are parked not using the coach, it can run the fridge about 24-30 hours. If we are using the coach inside, the generator needs to run several hours daily to keep the batteries up. The generators can be set up to do that automatically.

RE: Wanna bring a golf cart and a Jeep towed

We're selling our vacation home in SW Fla and plan on using our Challenger for future vacations of a month to 6 weeks. I'm thinking I might want to buy a golf cart to bring along with my Jeep towed. Is there a way to do this? Maybe something to put the golf cart on and then hook up the Jeep. Are campgrounds that golf cart friendly anymore? I was going to sell the Jeep and do a Gladiator or F150 with a cart because my wife has difficulty walking these days, but a host that has traveled a lot says don't bother as they are mostly restricted now to just the host.

RE: Newmar Sold

Beyond the entry level Forza DP, Winnebago doesn't make anything bigger right now. The Horizon was on pause with the transfer back out of Junction City Oregon back to Forest City, and that is it. No Journey, Tour, Grand Tours in the lineup for the last year. Maybe Newmar will fill that spot for the higher end DPs. Winnebago had to diversify or die, and they have been between Grand Design, Chris Craft and now Newmar. They could learn some things from each other I think. Winnebagos available documentation of build is not duplicated by any other builder that I have seen.

RE: Would this be crazy??

You'll go a long ways to be more comfortable than this. beaverhttps://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2005-Beaver-Motor-Coaches-Monteray-40--Laguna-Diesel-5008369527 A 60k budget isn't going to buy you a 170k rv. It was only it the high 40s before it came down.

RE: shield for towed car

The OP is talking about the shield that attaches to the cars base plate! Not the rear rock guard under the RVI realize that, but I'm saying that if you get rid of the source of the problem, you don't need the fix to the problem. The standard mudflap behind the axle should be sufficient.

RE: shield for towed car

I got rid of the full rear mudflap in the back and don't need any kind of shield anymore. The mudflap was causing the issue.

RE: tires

You may pay a little more but you will never be sorry you bought Michelin. Shop around. I just replaced my Michelins XZA3 with X Line Energy Z, but I've been plenty disappointed in Michelin before. The XZA3s that came off were severely cracked to the point I didn't want to run them any more after 7 years even though Michelin said they were fine. There are many suitable alternatives but you do have to alter tire size. Also, Shop price before jumping in with FMCA discounts - Mine were cheaper retail than FMCA discounted, and once you bring up FMCA you are stuck with FMCA pricing per the agreements.

Not sure I would want the noise associated with that tread.

RE: Picking up our new rig

Congratulations on that rig! Hard to find on their website anymore, but at the bottom of the page on winnebagoind.com there resources for your specific manuals, wiring diagrams, drawings, even parts lists. Also plenty of support on facebook groups specific to Winnebago diesels. Enjoy!

RE: Would this be crazy??

I ditched the F350 dually and 5th wheel (which also pulled a Jeep behind it occasionally) in favor of a MH and Jeep - don't miss the truck at all because all it was to me was a motor for the trailer. Now I have room in the garage! The only thing you may not be considering is a $50K MH is going to need a lot more money for maintenance and repair than a new $50K truck.

RE: thoughts on our 2019 Rubicon

I read old Mechanics Illustrated and you should have heard the controversy when Detroit integrated the ignition switch with the starter back in the 50s, eliminating the need to engage the starter with the foot pedal. You would have thought the world was coming to an end - The horror to think you would be stranded out there when this new fangled ignition switch failed and you couldn't manually engage the bendix. Nothing changes does it :) Although my heart did race a bit when the 2019 Sahara would shut down to save fuel - nothing I would like on the trails, although I know you can bypass that.

RE: thoughts on our 2019 Rubicon

That's incredible on the fuel. They are nice, I've rented a 2019 Sahara a couple of times.
