RE: Stealth Camping Tennessee

Yes, the Tennessee legislation was passed as a result of the multiple homeless camps.

RE: 2019–2022 CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC POSTINGS

There is no 'perfect' vaccine available anywhere. The problem with the death rate in the US, IMO, is the large number of people refusing to get vaccinated.

RE: Interesting EV’s versus ICE article…

Ok folks. It’s time to show legitimate data/research to back up statements unless you get back to prefacing you posts with ‘My opinion is …’.

RE: Interesting EV’s versus ICE article…

For this thread to achieve anything positive the throwing out claims without any substance has to stop! Otherwise rumors and false info are spread and create more harm than good. If you want to express your 'opinion' state it as 'your opinion' rather than claiming things to be fact which may not be. The topic IS important and should be discussed. However, stick to facts unless simply stating your opinion. Thank you.

RE: Turbo car engine in mountains

Normal day-by-day driving...... no, it is not necessary to idle the car/truck before turning the engine off. Check the auto manual and enjoy the trip. :)

RE: Gas prices.

Moved from ATC due to the emphasis being on the effect of fuel prices upon the RV lifestyle. Please remain on that topic. Thanks.

RE: COVID PERSONAL EXPERIENCES

Ditto here also Dave in terms of Nell and my daily activities.
Tennessee has been one of the worst states in terms of taking Covid seriously; and unfortunately citizens are paying for that mistake; many needlessly with their lives.

RE: What’s with the bags?

The towel is meant to signal a need for help. According to page 70 of the North Carolina Driver’s Handbook (what, you haven’t read this since driver’s ed?), “If you need help, tie a white cloth to the left door handle or the radio aerial and raise the hood of the vehicle.” According to Steve Abbott, Assistant Director of Communications for North Carolina Department of Transportation, the white cloth is meant to signal law enforcement or, if it is a stretch of road that has the IMAP service (aka The Immediate Motorist Assistance Program), it’s signaling one of the IMAP drivers. Afternoon Observer Everything you need to know about the day's news in Charlotte, direct to your inbox Monday-Friday. SIGN UP This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply. If you abandon the car, towel and all, it’s still at risk to get towed. The length of time it’s OK to leave a vehicle unattended depends on the type of road, location, closeness of the vehicle to the highway (this is a safety factor) and the policy of Highway Patrol and local law enforcement in that area, Abbott said. Friendly reminder: “Shoulders are not intended for long-term parking,” Abbott said. “They are there for emergencies and they provide added recovery space should a vehicle suddenly run off the road.” As for those orange stickers slapped onto abandoned vehicles? They function as a warning of sorts, indicating when a vehicle will be towed. “Sort of a last chance to get the car out before a tow truck comes for it,” Abbott said. The white cloth is a phenomenon you don’t see as much now as in the past, Abbott pointed out, and it isn’t exclusive to the Carolinas. “So many people have cellphones now and will call for help, such as HP (Highway Patrol) or their travel service company like AAA, and just remain with the vehicle knowing help is on its way,” he said. RE: 2019–2022 CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC POSTINGS

A 'brief' acknowledgement of those drugs/vaccines shown ineffective is fine. To belabor the topic and/or promote those that are ineffective serves no constructive purpose.
