RE: Oregon rules for pumping gasoline & covid-19

New Jersey was the only place that I recall was backwards enough to not allow one to pump their own gasoline. bumpy Well I welcome "backward" NJ pumping my gas. You won't see the typical losers like in other states that get $5 worth of gas and abandon their car at the pump for the next 1/2 hour to get their junk food groceries for the next week, inside. Gas jockey keeps the pumps clear.

RE: Single Piece Metal Door Frame Conducting Heat

You hit the nail on the head. You need a "thermal break" from outside frame to inside frame. I never heard complaints from anybody before about heat transfer. If this were winter you would have ice on the inside of the frame instead of it being too hot.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

The Tesla is street legal, handles well, and is fast with 5 people inside an air conditioned cabin. That Mustang is useless for anything other than turning money into smoke. But it also looks way cool. The Tesla looks like a four-door sedan. There's a reason nobody hotrods four-door sedans. Don't forget, it sounds way better too:C

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

But there is some incoming data that considers huge numbers of solar panels themselves may cause issues with local heat retention. This being due to the lower albedo of the solar panels compared to the land without the panels. Square miles of solar panels may not be as "green" as it would outwardly appear. Not nearly the effect of the square miles of black topped cities.

RE: Buying an AC online??

I bought a few things from them. Shipping was a little slow, but I didn't need it in a hurry anyway.

RE: Broken rear window

I got the frame out, but It sure didn’t want to come out easily! Being the top one it is somehow hooked into the rubber molding above it. The glass shop is charging me $85. to replace the glass. My fear is that I will break it trying to re-install it. I went to the Keystone dealer and they said it is a Kinro window, not Lippert. They didn’t have any service info on it, so I have e-mailed Kinro to see what they recommend. If I do break it, I will put plexi glass in the second time! Wish me luck. Tempered is very tough. Just don’t hit the edge as it may shatter into little cubes. Agree. I am a door contractor and I have taken tempered glass and flung it into the dumpster and it will just bounce around. Laying flat you can stand on it. But just a light TAP with a hammer on the edge....POOF!!!! lol.

RE: Obesity in America

In 2020, 83 percent of men and 72 percent of women will be overweight or obese. Currently, 72 percent of men and 63 percent of women are overweight or obese (people who are overweight have a BMI of 25 to 29, people who are obese have a BMI of 30 or greater).... Interesting...And I don’t think it’s getting any better... Don't even really need specific statistics. Just go anywhere in public and you will plainly see how many people are overweight AND obese. I can remember back in school kids who were fat. They were the odd one or two. Now a kid that fat is like every other kid that fat and a thin kid is the odd one or two.

You can add Volvo to the list of manufacturers abandoning ICE.

RE: Buying RV from a far away dealer

What difference does make when the local dealer says they can't fix your warranty work for 6 months or a dealer 1000 miles away can't fix it for 6 months either. Buy where you get the best deal. You are going to end up fixing yourself anyway.

RE: You have 13 yrs 11 mths left to buy a GM gas or dsl vehicle

As Ev's become more and more common that means there will be less and less ICE's on the road. What you will see happen is the opposite of what all the EV naysayers are saying about number of charging stations. They say EV won't catch on because there aren't enough places to charge on the road. When EV's take over there won't be gas stations available anymore for all your ICE drivers. Nobody is going to keep a gas station open if they are selling 1/4 of the amount of fuel that they are now selling. This alone will accelerate the demise of ICE even more. You will be hearing ICE drivers complain that they aren't going to drive cross country if they don't know if there will be an open gas station when they need it.

RE: RV Dealers

So I was looking at a new 2021 Springdale and I happen to ask if this trailer would be ready to go if I bought it right now. The salesman said they do not supply sewer hose, WATER hose or Propane Tanks.....is this normal?....kind of turned me off... I wouldn't worry about that stuff. I would worry about how the dealer is going to handle warranty work. Add on the contract: Warranty work performed and completed within 30 days or else the dealer starts paying you a set $$ amount for everyday over 30. If the dealer is cutting every cost, they will not/would not sign any contract concerning penalty payment for untimely warranty service. It would be very unusual, to not have propane cylinders supplied with any new RV trailer. Jerry If the dealer wants you to buy his RV then let's see him stand behind his business.

RE: Power pedestal wiring question

If they wanted to limit you to the 30A receptacle, then they wouldn't also provide a 20A receptacle. Actually, the National Electric Code requires that every site with electricity have the 20A receptacle (even when there is also a 30A and/or 50A receptacle). I assume this is at least partly to cut down on people using 30A to 15/20A or 50A to 15/20A adapters which frequently do not have proper overcurrent protection--and, presumably for that reason, are also frequently not UL listed. I agree that it is perfectly within one's rights and reasonable use to plug things into both the 30A and the 20A receptacle, unless the campground specifically requests otherwise. Using the amenities that are included with your campground fees is perfectly reasonable--I don't see where it's any different than using the playground or swimming pool or nature walk, even if not everybody who camps makes use of them; it's part of the package deal for getting the site. I believe they require the 20 amp outlet as a "service outlet" in order to have electricity available to to do work as needed for maintenance and repairs. Just like you have to have an outside service outlet on a house so workman have electric available to them.

Just buy a hitch with a shock absorbing shank. Probably safer than that ball.

The semi should be getting the new 4680 batteries, https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50877867773_3723245309_o.png 4680 batteries video I am a big Tesla fan, but that picture is way out of proportion.

RE: Build my TV

Upgrading from a 27'TT to a 41' 5er. Obviously now also need to trade in my TV for something more capable. Relying on the collective wisdom of this group for guidance. I do not have any strong brand loyalty beyond american made -- concerned about driving experience, ride comfort, towing capacity for the quoted trailer, and reliability. Make your proposals. Pretty well set on a diesel, but convince me if I am wrong. Trailer is 40' UVW 14344 lbs I agree with going with a diesel and if "American Made" is your requirement (It's my requirement as well) then GM and Ford is your excellent choices. Well FISH what about the life of the truck the 6.7 PS that's Made in Mexico??????? The OP wants an American made truck that means only Ford and GM fit's the bill and that's how I roll as well. Perhaps you can sing to the choir who will purchase a foreign built truck from a foreign company that's controlled in Europe that don't reflect our values like your Ram product. Built for America https://i.imgur.com/10oD45hl.jpg Interesting Ford has a HD truck assembled in the USA with an engine built in Mexico. Ram has a HD truck assembled in Mexico with an engine built in the USA ...And who owns Volvo Trucks?
