RE: Water pressure problem

Yes, we're using a regulator and park water. Was going to take it off park water but discovered that now the water pump isn't working! Just one thing after another.

RE: Water pressure problem

Thanks for the input everyone. I shall attempt to remove the kitchen faucet top and see if the screen is the problem. It affects both the hot and cold water. Not using our tank but I should check to see if it does this when on the pump. Should I disconnect from city water first? We didn't have this problem in the prior park, so I don't think it's a design defect. Unfortunately the bathroom sink is not the kind you can unscrew so I don't know how that will be fixed.

Water pressure problem

We have a Prime Time Spartan. The water at the kitchen sink is a dribble, and the water flow at the bathroom sink is only slightly better. However, the shower has great pressure. I can't figure out why this is so or how to correct it. We use a regulator because the manager said that the pressure is high. Any ideas?

Bremerton WA rv parks

Looking for something close to Bremerton for a 3 month stay. Has anyone spent time in the area?

RE: About to GO Full Time

We have a FR/PT Spartan. And while it has had it's problems it's not a bad rig at all. Certainly the insulation is good. I love the island. But it doesn't have a dedicated dining area, and I miss that. Looked at the front living room models and it was a hard choice, but we went with the Spartan. Kind of wish we had gone with the front living room model instead since we don't have toys per se. Oh well - live and learn!

Tank heater confusion

Does anyone have a Spartan or something similar? On the control panel there's 3 switches for the tank heaters, but they're not marked grey, fresh, or black. I could just switch them all on but would like to know which goes to which.

RE: Oregon Coast trip

There's a good friendly poker game at the little bar/grill across the street from Turtle Rock rv park in Gold Beach. We always stop there when in the area. The Barnacle in town has good garlic fries, too.

Pin for ladder?

Checking the rv after traveling from NM to WA I find that one of the pins that hold the ladder to the frame outside has broken. How it happened I don't know. Any suggestions on replacement?

RE: Keeping fridge cool in high 90s temps

Thanks, all. I'd turn the rig if I could, but the little park we're in only has sites set up so that one side is to the east and the fridge slide out is to the west, so it gets the worst of the temps and sun. I'll go check Harbor Freight for one of those shade sails. It's got to be better than a piece of cardboard! The fridge was installed - I didn't do anything to modify it - and the door is one large piece with 3 rows of venting openings. But I'll speak to the tech guy in the AO and see if there's a fix he can recommend. Started putting the fridge on propane too, but as I said the compartment is too shallow to accommodate a fan. Thanks all!

If you need rv repair in the Shiprock/Farmington NM area

We found a great rv tech located in Farmington who was willing to drive to Waterflow to fix our fridge after trying 3 other people/places. His name is Mike Mead and he owns 12 Volt Electrical Service & Repair. His number is 505 324-6548. Don't bother with Farmington RV - I called them and the service dept said that while they don't do mobile one of their techs passed by on his way home and they'd ask him to stop in. Waited until 8 pm, no phone call to say he wasn't coming that day or any other day.

Keeping fridge cool in high 90s temps

Currently in Waterflow NM and the temps are hovering in the mid to upper 90s. My Norcold 2118X isn't happy. There's no room for a fan to circulate the air. Any ideas for shade? I was thinking, as a temp measure, taping a piece of cardboard to provide shade. It won't look pretty but since so far I've had to replace the board inside and had to have the computer reset I'm not concerned with pretty.

RE: Insurance?

Thanks, everyone. I'm checking into USAA as well.

Insurance?

I'm finding Progressive to be on the expensive side for what I'm getting, and checking around for alternatives. Who do you insure with, and how do you rate the company?

Freightliner M2

thinking about upgrading to a Freightliner M2 to pull our hauler. Does anyone have one and can give us the pros and cons?

RE: Wintering in a toy hauler

Thanks for the replies! Before accepting a job my wife makes sure there's a park open close to the hospital, and they are pretty limited. A lot of them do close. Judging from the weather this winter it's probably a good idea NOT to go away from the coast.

Wintering in a toy hauler

I get offered jobs in snowy areas of the country frequently but I've been leery of accepting one. Definitely not in my old rig which was built for AZ weather, but this one has R54 insulation everywhere and I'm thinking that if I can find a park open I could try it. Has anyone else done long term winter camping up in the northern part of the country? What was your experience?

RE: Who doesn't haul big toys?

I travel as a surgical tech and this is our 3rd rv. We've had an old Class A, a Carriage Cameo bought new in 03, and now this Spartan bought last year. We've got the computer desk, a large shelving unit, computer desk, bookcases, washer/drier, and assorted other stuff in the garage. Going to rearrange it as much as possible at our next assignment to accommodate a small dining area.

RE: Spartan 1245

Well, guess the shakedown cruise is always full of surprises! We bought the same model and have had a few problems too. Fridge came without the center sealer so had the thing running constantly but that was added and it's good now. Island countertop has a crack - our tech has the replacement waiting for us to get there. Ditto the king pin shroud. Most annoying right now is a thumping from behind the pantry. That might be the wash/drier lines but it happens when we aren't using them so it's a puzzle. And I can't get the back door to let down now either. My tech said it was a cheap plastic part - a lever or something - but he'll have to replace it when we get back to CO.

RE: Hidden Litter Box

Hard to find a good spot and with 2 boxes we really don't have anywhere convenient to put them so we put them in the garage and scoop often. Pity no one designs for pets! So many of us travel with them it would seem logical to do so.

RE: What 5r (ToyHauler) do you own?

Prime Time Spartan 41ft model. It's got some problems but it's our first toy hauler so we didn't know what to expect. In hind sight would have taken the bath and a half model. Most problem is a banging behind the pantry that we'll have to cut through a wall to figure out. Not looking forward to that! Might be the washer/dryer lines.
