RE: I didn't buy an RV

I think its apples and oranges. Boating is a whole different things. Personally, I have found the vast majority of campers to be helpful and friendly.

RE: Roof Issue

Consider a flex armor roof. I don't have one but everyone who does seems to be happy. A rather large expensive but you know you won't have to deal with it again.

RE: Don’t know anything

Could use a little more information... Is money an object? How big a travel trailer?

tongue jack slipped

We were setting up our camper and like I always do I set the tongue jack down on several blocks (the ones you can use of leveling or placing under the stabilizing jacks). I noticed immediately it was slipping. I didn't know what to do. I yelled for my daughter to hand me some more blocks and I set them right next to the blocks i already had. It eventually stopped and was resting on both sets of blocks. I raised it again and rehooked to my truck. I was able to set it down again without incident. Any reason why this would happen and how can i prevent it?

RE: question about battery

So when not in use I should have the battery disconnect turned to off?

question about battery

Can someone explain to me what the battery actually does on an rv? I just got a new 2020 Transcend. It has a battery disconnect switch. When I park in our drive, I turn the disconnect to on. It has been parked for a week and battery is dead (the slide won't go out, lights don't come on etc.). I have plugged it back in to an outlet and it appears to be charging again. What exactly does that battery power? If it has a disconnect switch in the rv, should I still disconnect the cables? I don't understand electrical. I don't know a volt from an amp.

Battery Disconnect switch

I just bought a Grand Design Transcend. It has a battery connect switch. How does this work? When I am parked in my drive should it be on or off? What about when I am plugged in?

Extended warranty

I am purchasing a new 2020 Transcend tomorrow. I am sure I will be offered an extended warranty. Any suggestions on if they are worth it or not?

Cleaning black streaks

We have an aluminum siding travel trailer. We can't get rid of the black streaks. We have tried the LA Awesome cleaner with a pressure sprayer and had no luck. Any suggestions??

RE: One very last water tank question

Thank you. Can you advise on what page you see info about the circuit breaker reset on side of tank?

One very last water tank question

Where would the fuse be for my hot water tank. It is a direct spark ignition. I have checked the box with the fuses all are marked but none mention hot water tank

RE: Hot water heater

Is there a possibility it could be a fuse?

Another hot water heater question

My travel trailer has a gas only hot water heater. Would this be (I don't know if I am wording this correctly) connected to a circuit breaker or a fuse?

RE: Hot water heater

I tried the running burners on the stove . They worked fine but not the hot water heater. It doesn't even sound like it's trying. If it was pressure ...what's the remedy?

towing without a weight distribution

I have a 2019 Wildwood X-lite 30ft travel trailer. I am towing with a F350. I currently use an EAZ lift set up with weight distribution and sway control. One of the weight distribution bars won't stay in. It keeps coming out of the (not sure what you would call it) hitch. It appears that the retaining clip is bad. I know it can be replaced and is a cheap part but I am not handy. Is it okay to tow my trailer (approx. 5500 lbs) without the weight distribution or sway control?
