RE: Chock RV on snow/ice. NEED HELP!!!

I was a ski patroller for backcountry skiing. I starting bring my pickup and huge pickup camper. Stud all the way around on the truck tires. Many time the parking lot would be solid ice and snow. I made different size ramps out of 2 x 10's. The bottom had many hex head screws. They are stronger then the tip of the screw. I would drive up onto the ramps till the camper was level. Sometimes the ramp would get so frozen into the ice, there was no getting it out. It stayed and I would make more. KEN

RE: California Sierras - Yosemite etc - July 2021

The last time I was at Yosemite was 5 or 6 years ago on the motorcycle in the summer. I had the worst time ever. TOO MANY PEOPLE. I will never go there in the busy time ever again. I had a hard time even finding a small spot to park the motorcycle. Good luck. KEN

RV Life is the phone app version for RV Trip Wizard. There was a small fee. You can download a state to view when there is no cell / internet coverage. I'm still learning about all the things Wizard does. Here is a screen shot of the RV Life. KEN

RE: Need advice on spacer between camper and truck bed?

For the base layer; a 1" 4' x 8' stall mat works great. Our 2002 Citation camper had a aluminum square channel frame screwed to the bottom of the camper. I think it was 3" channel. KEN

RE: Electric Hummer updates on prices, availability, etc.

I believe Hummer is completely sold out for initial year of production. Maybe we will see some of these on the road by 2022. Ramping production should be easy for GM. Love to see how fast GM can go from 10,000 / yr to 300,000 per year I’ll take a wild guess and say 2026 for 300,000. Jmho. Where are you going to get ALL the electric for 300,000 electric vehicles? That's a lot of Amp Hours. KEN

RE: Which EMS Surge Protector

I installed the hardwired Progressive EMS-HW50C in our 5th wheel. It analyzes the power coming in about 20 to 30 seconds. If the power is not correct in some way it will not let it pass. If for some reason the monitor went bad, there is a switch on the remote to let the power bypass the unit. So far ( 3 years ) it works correctly and seems to be a great product. KEN

RE: Future Used RV Market

Here in Western Oregon (Coburg, Oregon) there is many fairly large RV dealer. All their lot used to be RV's parked side by side by side... now they can barely cover the outside perimeter end to end. I work at many RV Parks on their laundry equipment and they have been full since June.

Stay off the freeway if at all possible. Only use the freeway if you are in a big hurry. The great sights and scenery are not need most freeways. I use US 12 out of Lewiston, Wa. when I go East from Springfield, Oregon. KEN

RE: Time to retire the 7.3 OBS?

You might be surprised how much your truck is worth. The 7.3 engines are highly desired. I got $17,000.00 for our 2002 F350 long bed sight unseen. Granted; it only had 67,000 miles on it. If you like your truck and it can do the job, fix it and keep it. KEN
