RE: Propane tank

Personally I have never found a guage to be accurate. I tun twin tanks with MANUAL switch over so I know when to fill a tank and am not surprised when both tanks run out.

RE: Still shopping

An honest seller will have no problem taking the unit to a non biast third party shop for thorough inspection. Look at blue book value.

RE: Don’t Use TSD Fuel Card In Oregon

Oregon is terrible that way. I pay $17 per year just to paddle my kayak. I need a "water access permit".

The freezer flapper door inside my Dometic Americana model # RM-2551 has cracked and need a new asembly. Found some new online for $124. Not thinking this is a good inversment as it is nearly 20 years old and every time it runs I give a silent prayer of thanks. Anyone know of a reliable down to earth used parts source?

RE: 1967 Terry key

I hope he is not buying it without seeing inside? Yes, go with a lock smith. Or if you feel adventurous he may be able to remove all the screws holding the door frame in place and gently remove the foor in the frame

RE: General Question on Size

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like your trailer sales person was not to informative. He should have told you all about what you need. Based on the numbers you provided I say you are in the zone for towing, but just barely. I will tell you you may want to also add rear tow vehicle air bag assist. You do have a brake controller? You will need one. I suggest you take the rig to a qualified shop and have them show you how to set it all up correctly then go for a short trip . There is alot of experience on this very helpful forum. Keep asking questions.

You are better than I am at searching the answers. Much apreciated
Oasisbob 10/28/20 07:09pm Hybrid Travel Trailers

I could NOT find specific info on this. Are hybrid trailers allowed inside yellowstone campgrounds within the park? I figure unless we all sleep with cacon around our necks we are fine. What is the official rule? I could not find this online.

Considering a camping trip from Portland Oregon going to Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore then Silverwood theme park in Idaho. Do you guys do your own route planning or use a service such as AAA?

RE: Mildew on popup tent insides

Yes, it is a good product though corrossive due to chlorine content. Our hybrid is 20 years old and has original bunk end fabric in very good condition. It is this way because we always set up at home after a wet trip and run the electric water collecting dehumidifier. I have always thought these dehumidifiers should be built in as standard equipment

Forgot to mention this will be our daily driver as well.
Oasisbob 10/11/20 09:06pm Tow Vehicles

Our RV listed below has served us well. With 140K and a list of repairs we are cutting our loss and researching a slightly used TV. We would like 5K tow capacity. May get a non hybrid trailer soon. We are considering Ford Explorer, Dodge Durango and Nissan Path Finder. Any thoughts on these rigs or others? Our price range is a firm 25K max. Wiling to go two years old and will buy extended warranty. Throw us a bone

RE: Poo water

Take it to the dump station, rinse and repeat. Hopefully you have a tank flusher built in. Never, never let it get that full again. You can damage the wood under the toilot as it leaks around the base. Only way to really check tank level is to look down the toilot when flushing. I am not a fan of chemicals but this may be needed. If you still smell sewer gas check the drain vent tube first of all. If the bowl holds water your flush seal is good

RE: LP gas Regulator... better brands?

Simple. It's cheaply made poorly manufactured ****. I have replaced so many parts on my rig just for this reason. They should be ashamed. But then again we keep buying it for lack of alternatives. They are lucky the japanese have not got into the game

RE: Aluminum or fiberglass trailer

I own fiberglass but will always take aluminum. Here is why. Aluminum panels can be replaced if need be from accident. Fiberglass pre fabs are vacuum compressed and sealed. Can one ever be repaired without compromising the area? Also al hides scratch's and do not need decals. Just an all around better choice in my opinion. Ever notice when the RV industry comes up with something new it is more than for them than for the consumer? Frameless windows? On what planet is this a good idea? Rubber roofing? pre fab walls? Just sayin

RE: blackwater waste valve seal question

Sorry I cannot answer your question. May I ask if you use chemicals in the tank? How old? A friend just replaced his black tank valve after less thyan one year. My rig is 20 years old and I have never had a leak nor have I ever used chemicals. Just curious

RE: Towing camper with van. What rating hitch should I purchase?

Class 3. Our situation is very similar and we opted for class 3. As I recall we could not find a class 2 and the numbers were the deciding factor.

RE: used price

The year is secondary to the condition. I have seen slightly used rigs that were not maintained and have serious issues. I have seen older rigs stored under cover and maintained.
