RE: Towing camper with van. What rating hitch should I purchase?

Class 3. Our situation is very similar and we opted for class 3. As I recall we could not find a class 2 and the numbers were the deciding factor.

RE: used price

The year is secondary to the condition. I have seen slightly used rigs that were not maintained and have serious issues. I have seen older rigs stored under cover and maintained.

EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY COMPARISON?

We are in the market for a barely used tow vehicle and want to buy an extended warranty. They have always paid off for us. Is there a extended warranty company that you may reccomend? I want to know they will come through for us. Any thoughts or reccomendations welcome.

RE: MH Manufacturer of Choice - Poll

This is a tough question as several brands may be made by the same manufacturer, made by the same people at the same plant.

EXTERIOR STEP HANBDLE REMOVEING?

The handle (left side of entrance door outside) is just yucky after 19 years. Tried cleanser, asetone just not comming clean so thought I sould replace it. How? I am wondering if it is installed at point of construction from the inside. There seems to be no access cover for exterior screws? Any thoughts? I may try painting it?

RE: Said good by our hybrid

Congratulations! You did what I have wanted to do for many years. Our hybrid is still going strong and cannot justify a new trailer. Too bad for us. Many happyt memories for you and yours

RE: Covid 19 warning

I am afraid they will, once again, begin closing campgrounds. Truly I am closer to my neighbors at home than in my self contained RV with the family. I believe a contributing factor is the large number of unmasked protesters in cities across the U.S. who protest nightly atleast here in Portland Oregon. Much more than folks simply trying to camp

FRESH WATER LEAK ?

While camping yesterday the fresh water hose popped off the outlet side of my water pump. I was mildly surprised to see it was just held on with a hose clamp at each end. The hose seemed 1/2 inch too short so replaced with piece of old RV water hose cut longer and returned the two hose clamps. No leaks. Made me wonder just how much pressure the pump, combined with water heater pressure, is actually under? I have had this camper for 18 years so guess it will fly. Just curious

CITY WATER CONNECTION DRIP?

When hooked to city water the fitting on the trailer where the hose connects has a slight drip. Tightening does not cure or help. I replaced this coupling a few years ago. Is there a simple fix i can do?

THANK YOU

Had 6 camping reservations cancelled so far this year. Finally got out to Fort Stevens Oregon state campground. What a blessing to get out. I want to give a big THANK YOU to all campground hosts who really are the heroe's of camping. I saw a host cleaning the restrooms last weekend. I was ashamed of the trash campers leave for them. It blows my mind. I just want to say Thanks and I am sorry for the selfish behavior of others. The host cleaning up seemed cheerful and did not let this disrespect get to her.

RE: ELECTRIC BRAKE ?

Hi guys. I am considering your advice regarding wiring. Trailer is grounded through hitch, load bars and plug and has worked well for 19 years. Still could be a ground issue. When magnets go out is it an all or nothing?

ELECTRIC BRAKE ?

My trailer, listed below, has developed weak brakes. It will barely show when I depress the over ride on the Prodigy 2 brake controller which is set at 6.3. That seems to be as high as it goes. I tightened all four drum brakes via adjuster in back. Did not help. I repacked the bearings two years ago and the magnets had not yet worn to show the wear marks. Original shoes and drums. I have owned this rig for 10 years. Any guesses? I am perplexed. Magnets? shoes? controller? Any thoughts apreciated.

RE: Kayak hooked to ladder?

Kayak weight would not be anb issue. Wind resistance mayt be. I would put opening facing back and give it a try

Thank you all for your input. I now have some direction. Yes, I did post similar and lost the thread. Thought I was getting senile. My bad. Sorry.

RE: Storing with levelers down?

I am guessing you mean stabilizers? No need really. Can't hurt but not needed in my opinion.

NEW T.V. RECCOMENDATION?

Beginning research for a new tow vehicle. Our Kia Sedona has 125K on the odometer. Our tow capacity would preferably be around 5-6K. Seating for six or more. This would be a daily driver so fuel economy is important. Also nothing too big like a Saburban. Probley buy slightly used. Any thoughts? SUV or van. Not a truck.
