RE: RV Covers Experiences

If you cannot park under cover a fabric cover is good insurance. I believe most RV's leak by design. Today I helped a friend cover his rig. Be careful putting it on and do not snag the fabric on any edges.

RE: full length bunk end cover

Bunk end covers were never made to keep out noise. Best advice is to run a fan nearby. Or for us it is an electric dehumidifier when not dry camping.

RE: Anyone gone on a Cruise?

If you like eating well prepared exotic foods in large quanities and being waited on while living in luxury in a warm friendly sunny climate and visiting new places cruising is for you. We have gone several times. Our favorite cruise line is Holland America which caters to older people. Going in the off season means fewer kids on board. The size of these ships will blow your mind. I suggest price shopping. Last minute deals are often really good. Yes go

RE: $600K Of Marijuana Seized in MH Near Joliet, IL

I say throw the book at him. That dope creates far more problems than it solves. Glad he got caught

RE: External Holding Tank

I made a dump station by sinking a 50 galolon drum in a hole surrounded with large rocks. I drilled several 3 inch holes in the trum and ran a pipt to just below the ground. Works fine

RE: roof coating

I am probley in the minority but I do not like or use total roof coatings. I reseal seams but why do the whole roof? I have seen roof coatings go bad making it tough to find the point of enrry.

full length bunk end cover

We are almost year round campers. The bunk ends are a big head ache needing to be set up at home under cover to completely dry.Being bored recently I cut up an old rubber pool cover and made a full length bunk end cover. I have to say I impressed myself with this one. It covers all sides and roof held on with tiny clamps and a few bungee cords. Last trip out I carefully removed and bunk was totally dry. Mission accomplished. What am I missing here? Why does Pop Up Gizmo's not make such an item? I believe there is a market

THREADED CAP FOR 1 lb lb

Since the disposable one pount propane bottles are gettin pricey I am now refilling my own. Only deal is the seals are not up to more than a few fillings before they begin to leak. I cannot find threaded caps the these bottles which would make them safe. Anyohe know of such a threaded cap?

RE: Propane Tank Gauge,recomendations please

Open one tank at a time. When tank 1 is empty run off tank 2 while filling tank 1. Key being not to forget filling the empty when you get home.

RE: Dirt

We camp most of the year and like the added warmth of the carpet. We also take lots of kids camping so our carpet is sectioned and sometimes gets pulled out and pressure washed. Then hung to dry.

RE: 20 year old hoses

If you have a long road trip planned I would change them out. Do they feel stiff? They may be hard to find. Better to buy them while at home rather than on the road.

RE: Just curious?

One observation I can make here is high end or low end you get the same cheap plastic exterior oven fan exhaust ducts, roof vent pipe covers, outdoor shower access doors etc,. Airstream is the exception to these. I have replaced my shore power access port door three times. Overall the RV industry should be ashamed of the lack of pride in the product. People spend their hard earned money and get junk. Just my opinion based on experience, talking with people and customer complaints I read about right here

RE: Home Storage

Your pipes and water heater need to be totally drained and anti freeze poured down the sink and shower traps. I blow compressed air through the system with both low point drain plugs removed. Takes me about 12 minutes. Also drain the fresh water tank. In my opinion anti freeze is not needed. Your heater would only heat interior. Not where pipes probley are. Best of luck

RE: trailer size and campsites in National Parks

21 feet seems to be the max in Oregon for the most part. Bigger is not always better. So many variables here.

RE: Question around Cold Temps

We are late season campers like you. Better safe than sorry. I can winterize my rig in 12 minutes and do often during this time of year. I use compressed air and anti freeze down the shower trap.

RE: Quality versus Price

In my opinion the RV industry should be ashamed of the lack of quality overall. I have always felt each worker on the line should sign off on what they do and a bonus given at the end of the year based on number of warranty work. Have you seen the video's on Youtube for RV asembly? Guys running with walls slappin them on. And we keep buying it. Amazing

RE: Frameless windows question

I have observed whenever the RV industry comes up with something like this it is for them and NOT for the consumer. Why in the world would a frameless window be a good idea?

RE: How many of you winter camp? Suggestions for winter camping?

We love winter camping. The challenge is finding a place to camp. Despite high demands Oregon state parks closes many parks for no aparent reason. A whole different envirnment in winter. Quieter for sure. Smart to use dehumidifier. Makes a huge difference in our hybrid

RE: Last Post, DW has died

Really really sorry for your loss. Seems I am hearing more of these stories all the time. Your point is solid. You have some great memories to look back on. You did it right. Life is such a precious gift not to be returned to the giver unopened. It is important to realize this life time wise is a grain of sand on an eternal beach. Really, in my opinion, the only thing we do that has eternal consequences is to decide if the Bible is what it claims or the biggest con job ever laid at our feet. And it that is true what was the motive. For me the Bible is so real proving itself with no doubts. Okay gettin off the soap box now before I fall. Happy trails amego
