RE: one more time I need some help

I would buy 2 group 27 agm batteries, with the 100 watt solar on the roof you can camp a long time off grid. That is what I have and it works great.

RE: Tie Downs

You could use happy jack tie downs or look on craigs list to find tork lift tie downs for your truck. I would stay away from pocket type tie downs.

RE: 2019 Northern lite

I own a Northern Lite 811 and the furnace works great. I sold my Lance because we were always cold in the winter. You will be very happy with the NL. Best non slide TC built.

RE: Conquering the Great Divide

I agree a hard side TC could get beat up pretty good. My son has a roof nest on a jeep that would work a lot better.

RE: I 70 west of Denver .. vail. Pass..

Everytime I travel I-70 east or west there are a lot of potholes, I am getting in the habit of looking for holes in the roads in every state now.

Conquering the Great Divide

I just got done reading this article in trailer life magazine. It makes me wonder if you could do this trip in a TC. Living in Colorado I spend a lot of time in the Mountains, but this trip would be a lot of fun.

RE: HOW to GET RID of a LOT of GOOD STUFF I Might Use Someday

I use the back seat of the truck for lawn chairs, generator, firewood and small stuff. We like to cook on the campfire so we use stainless steel cooking rack and Rome pie irons. If you can put solar on your camper that way you only carry the generator as a back up. The main thing is to keep it simple.

RE: Securing batteries in forward compartment (Security)

I would built a wooden box around them and use star bit screws or torque screws I think they are called, that way a person would have to have that bit to get at them.

RE: Leaving Trailer Hooked Up

I hope that every one is safe in your area. I am kind of a prepper so my TC is always ready to go, my biggest challenge is getting DW ready to go. It sounds like you are well prepared.

RE: Gas station at junction of 75 and 93 in Idaho

We use google maps and the satellite view. Also RV parky will show gas stations.

RE: Which to comprimise on? Toilet or Heat?

Being you live in Canada did you look at Northern Lite TCs. We sold our Lance 825 because it was to cold in the winter the 811 we have now is a lot easier to keep warm.

RE: What can I do with/expect from a generator?

I camp in the Rockies at about 9000 feet the little genny works great. I have 2 group 27 AGM batteries we don't have a microwave. The genny will run the furnace and frig no problem. I run the genny about 1 hour in the morning to charge the batteries. I also have 150 watts of solar also. But you can't rely on sun in mountains.

RE: What can I do with/expect from a generator?

If all you want to do is charge the batteries, I use a Ryobi propane generator it is only 900 watts, but for the way we camp it works great. I did buy a 12 foot hose so I could hook it up to the TC propane tanks. Sold at home depot.
