RE: Anyone with the Ford 6.2 Carrying TC

I haul a 2017 Northern Lite 811 on a 2011 Ford F250 FX. The truck weights around 7000 pounds empty, with the camper on the truck it weights 10500 pounds. We spend a lot of time in the mountains and the 6.2 gasser does very well. But sometime I will get a new truck with the 7.3 gasser.

RE: New Ford 7.3 Gas

I also have been interested in the new 7.3 gas Ford F350. I own a 2011 f250 with the 6.2 gasser with a 6 speed tranny. I think the 10 speed tranny with more power would be good in the mountains.

RE: Interstate 80 thru Wyoming and Nebraska

In the spring time Western Nebraska can have very strong crosswinds.

RE: Adding extra solar panel to 2019 Northern Lite

I just put another 100 watt panel on my 811. I have put solar on before and I have had good luck with Renogy products. The charge controller that Northern Lite installs at the factory is a pretty good one.

RE: Wet Bath Toilet Cover

Buy a adjustable pole and shower curtain that you can slide across the front of the toilet when showering.

RE: Visiting Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton Ntl Pk,s

I would go the first or second week in Sept. In 2013 we went the last week in May and there was 6 feet of snow everywhere.

RE: Visiting Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton Ntl Pk,s

We went to Glacier National Park Sept 1st to the 7th 2019 and the weather was great. 4 days later they had 4 feet of snow. I agree a week in Glacier and a week in Yellowstone.

RE: What Portable Propane Gas Grill Do You Use?

I know you are looking for a gas grill, but they are dirty to store. Having a TC we are limited for space so I bought a stainless steel grill rack for the campfire. It did take time to learn how to cook on a campfire but it is worth it. What I really like is the clean up is easy. Also you can't beat cooking with rome pie irons.

RE: Who has sold everything and started rving for life

First Welcome. You have to say more about yourself and the RV you own.

RE: Yellowstone 2020

I tell everyone that I know if you are going to Old Faithful in yellowstone don't forget to go in to the lodge. It is really well built and the fireplace is one of the biggest around. The history of building is really cool.

RE: Yellowstone 2020

I have been to yellowstone 3 times,in 2013 we arrived about 3 days before memorial day yellowstone lake was froze over and there was about 6 feet of snow almost everywhere. We just went there on our way back from Glacier National park around Sept 8, 2019 and it did have a lot of people but you could park pretty easy. I think you will be ok with your class c because it's only 24 feet long. My truck camper is about 23 feet long on the truck.

RE: Sleeper sofa replacement

You have a trailer drive to the east coast and buy one. Make a vacation out of it.

RE: NEWS STORY: Ford/Lance guardrail bridge

It was a lot of snow that day, Arvada 16 inches, Boulder had 22 inches of snow. I was up in Leadville in May and it had 12 inches on the ground and still snowing, really don't like being out in those conditions.

RE: YNP to add cell phone access at Canyon Village

If they only put small device's on the building's that are already there I don't see a problem. I do agree do not put up tower's.

RE: replacement battery door

I have seen people use marine style small doors on Truck campers, when they rebuild them.

RE: Please help me decide on a truck camper

Northern Lite and Bigfoot campers have about half the seams as other campers. What I like about Lance campers they really try to keep the weight down. Which does help a lot. If I was looking for a short box camper with a slide the 855s would be my choice.

RE: Please help me decide on a truck camper

I have owned both Lance 825 and now I own a Northern Lite 811. Both are great campers but the NL has less maintenance and will stay warmer inside in cold weather.

RE: Northern-Lite 8-11 & Solar?

I have the 1 factory installed 100 watt panel, it would be easy to add a second panel on the other side. But if you want 4 or 6 solar panels I would add a rack system.

RE: Signing a power of attorney for bank when selling your RV

Selling things over my life time I really think I have seen every scam. If I don't believe the deal is for real I will tell the buyer to bring cash to my local police station, and we will make the deal there. Funny after that I don't hear from them again.

RE: Ryobi 900 Watt Propane Generator

I have owned my Ryobi generator for 2 years it has worked really well for us. Most of the time my solar will keep batteries charged up but if the sun isn't shining it's my back up.
