RE: Just bought my first travel trailer

Welcome. If you started with a 37 foot trailer, 5 years from now the wife will want a 42 foot 5th wheel. So just go and buy a F- 350 dually.:)

RE: Battery: AGM vs. Flooded Cell

I like AGM batteries because you don't have to check the acid level. Living in a dry climate the acid in my batteries always evaporated.

RE: How are your solar panels mounted?

I also put a lot of non self leveling dicor under the renogy brackets and use 2 screws per bracket. We travel in Wyoming and Montana and it seems we always have very strong cross winds. Have seen semi trucks tipped over a few times.

RE: New rv's

I think it depends on the brand, We just bought a 2020 Outdoors RV and they have the natural wood cabinets. You are right some of the cabinet colors I don't like.

RE: Cut off switch with solar panels

Can someone post a link of a good switch to shut off power from 270 watts of solar to the controller. Thank you.

RE: Solar panels

I put a lot of Dicor under the bracket and of course on top. We spend time in Wyoming and Montana and the cross winds are terrible, so I really try and make sure the panels are secured.

RE: Solar panels

I have used 3 M double sided tape and one screw on my old camper, but today I installed my panel with a lot of Dicor non self leveling and 2 screws per bracket. The trick is try to find a roof truss if you can.

RE: Solar panels

I sold my TC and now own a trailer. Just got done putting a 170 watt panel on today and ordered another 100 watts. Just make sure you measure where you want to install the panel. For us 270 watts of solar works great but we also camp at 8500 elevation.

RE: My Sprinter stealth ClasB

All electric I would put about 400 watts of solar on roof with at least 200 amp hours of batteries.

RE: Generator Placement questions

It could be 100 degrees in Utah in july, but the nights cool down a little bit. I have spent the night in the dry heat with just the max air vent running and a 12 volt fan.

RE: Palomino Truck Campers

They are built in Michigan, you could see if they have a factory tour. I owned a 1603 pop up about 10 years ago that was built pretty good for the price I payed.

RE: Newbies RVers

If you are talking about class c units, before you buy one go and rent one from cruise america for a week than you can figure out what you like and don't like.

RE: I-70 Colorado in April

We got buried in snow on May 9 last year up by Leadville, so just watch the weather and if I-70 is bad just stay around Denver area 1 or 2 days. Bear Creek State park by Morrison is a nice campground.

RE: Regular cab under Outfitter Apex 9.5?

The sad thing is you will still pay around $40,000.00 dollars for a regular cab F-350 or 3500 truck.

RE: Regular cab under Outfitter Apex 9.5?

I have a Ford F-250 super cab which I love. I don't think it is a problem putting a TC on a standard size truck. A lot of people do it. I do agree a crew cab truck is to long for a lot of parking spaces.

RE: Used truck camper

Speaking of keeping DW happy, we spend a lot of time deciding what camper to upgrade to. She wanted something bigger and I wanted to keep my truck and Northern Lite which are payed for. So in a way I won we decided that on long trips about every 3 or 4 days she could pick a hotel to stay at.:)

RE: RAM 2500 V10 model year 2000

I used to have a palomino pop up camper that weighed around 2000 pounds ready to camp. I agree finding a hard side camper that weighs 2500 pounds wet will be a challenge.
