RE: Stopover between PEI and Maine

Saint Andrews is a lovely little town. I have never been but am told there is a nice campground only 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants. Oldcow

RE: Anyone driving Labrador this year?

I am doing it on a dirt bike this summer. My understanding is that between Red Bay and Happy Valley Goose Bay there is approximately 350 kms of dirt road. Oldcow

RE: Honda or Yamaha inverter generator?

Hi, I would buy neither Honda or Yamaha. I would purchase a Champion 3400 with remote electric start. I would consider the Harbor Freight 3500 inverter generator, with electric start. Can you elaborate why please? Oldcow

RE: Timing for Atlantic Canada

I'm not sure if I should let you guys scare me off or not. I do most of my camping in spring and fall, to avoid crowds. Maybe this area is enough cooler and less crowded anyway that I should reconsider. I don't mind cool, but wet is a problem. Are insects worse in June or in July? My original plan dodges the holiday weekends. Part of my plan is to visit Acadia park in Maine just before Memorial day, because it gets crowded later. June is great cool weather in NB, NS and PEI. I have not been to Newfoundland in June but I hear it is cooler and rainy. July is certainly better for that province weather wise. No matter what time of year you come, the warmth and sincerity of the people is always there. Black flies can be bad in June if you are in wooded areas more than in July. Oldcow

RE: Timing for Atlantic Canada

Mosquitoes can start being a hassle in June, so can the black flies. But its not like in Alaska or Yukon, if what I read about those places is accurate. You should be fine to get a place to camp easily enough but if you have a specific area or specific national park you want to stay at, I encourage making reservations. Late May and Early June are great for camping as the kids are still in school so less crowded for sure. We have had rainy springs the last couple of years. Newfoundland can be cold and wet that time of year as well. Oldcow

RE: Stainless steel sinks

RV sized sinks are sold as bar top sinks in the retail market. Traditionally, they are smaller than a standard kitchen sink. That may not be true with your RV. Measure the size of your original sink and shop with those measurements. FWIW, I restored both a polymer bath sink and a double bowl stainless in my trailer using rubbing compound and some sweat equity. They are now gleaming like new. Milne seem to be shallower. I did some searching and did not find anything. I will hit the keyboard again tonight. This is now a project for next spring. What measurements do I take? The size of the hole of from lip top lip? Oldcow You want to use the overall measurements and the bowl size measurements. Here is a page of different stainless sinks: Moen sinks Thank you I will check these out. Oldcow

RE: Stainless steel sinks

It is better to replace with a residential sink from big box stores. RV SS sinks are paperthin. I used to leave the dry-z-air container in the sink in my last TT. Some chemical droplets spilled over on the SS surface ate some pinholes through it. That’s what I plan to do if I can fins some. Oldcow
