RE: TT for full time living or negatives of trailer brands

Are you buying this TT new or used? You stated "First I have a tow vehicle that can tow 8,000 pounds with a tongue weight of 8000 pounds." What vehicle has a tongue weight of 8000 lbs? I fat fingered, 800.. 800 pounds. That’d sounds like a suv p rated tires and debatable frame or unibody construction. Trailer jumps to 6500 pound max weight. That’s a small trailer dual axles max 23ft 25t. Typical 23 foot hybrid camper with would be your maximum trailer for sleeping or a couples small trailer.

RE: using a 2012 ridgeline for towing

What’s a ridgeline in the realm of 1/2 ton 150/ 1500 series. That whatever pickup is a 1/4 ton or less 75/750 series boat hauler.

RE: 2003 Coleman Caravan C25-SLB - Help?

Drains to fresh water tank and low point drains should be there . If none hook up airline and blow out our all lines. Follow up with winterize. If no draw by water pump you can add one. Very simple add with parts at any plumbing store. Next go to water heater to see if it has a hot water bypass. If none you need 6 gallons of antifreeze in the hot water tank. Hot water bypass can be sourced at chinazom.

RE: What do you want in a campground?

After 10 years of family camping I evolved to strictly boondocking. Have state and national forests to disperse camp at my leisure now.

RE: Trying to find this floorplan

Most camping trailer I’d pull behind a unibody fake suv with zero off-road attributes is a 10 foot popup camper. Somebody’s in a bad mood.... 3 pages worth of people saying too much for your CUV.

RE: Trying to find this floorplan

So what lol so called SUV do you own that may or might be 5000 rated. Mostly modern day cough CUV including joke exploder and traverse can’t tow a utility trailer empty unless they have factory equipped tow package.

RE: Has anyone looked at the Jeep Gladiator?

Many Gladiators are showing up on the roads in PA. Some seen towing 22 foot lake boats, and other toys. Looks to be a colorado, ranger, taco, and frontier killers. Soccer mom mobile 4 door jeeps will soon be gladiator versions.

RE: Newer RVs....ugh

Most campers made are delamninating before they reach the dealer. The junk single axle garbage trailer dominating the newbies are ready to self destruct this winter.

RE: Is this forum dead, wow

Yeah forums dead, popups are dead. I finally got my estimate and total information on my 07 Jayco 1206 that got t-boned back on 7/13/19. Paid $2k for the rat and got $6300 lol. Goodbye camping as a norm with kids in sports now 80 percent of the year.

Camper T boned while enRoute on camping trip

Back in July I was on my way to a weekend trip with my daughters. I was in my k2500 suburban and towing my popup camper. A 17 year old with learners permit ran a stop sign and drove right into the pup at front corner and a frame. Immediate total for that disaster, truck however different story. Given the rareness and frames on k2500 subs and k2500 avalanches they have an bend in frame and non reparable driver side rear shock mount. The outrigger broke off the frame from truck totaling the k2500 sub. If you have a pickup that minor side force can break that shock mount and get replaced. Out of luck k2500 subs and Avalanches.

RE: New 2020 Rockwood Premier 2716g, ready for camping

Hi Mike. Glad it’s working out great for you. Biggest benefit I see going back to pups is the boondocking and off road appeals. My 12 foot box with front trunk is 20 feet long closed. That’s long to k turn on a forest road but doable.

RE: 2018 flagstaff superlite has condensation on walls

Thanks for all the information on condensation in camper, will invest in dehumidifer that can run on generator Is this your first time owning a camper? How cold is the area you are in? In the mid-atlantic we get serious condensation in the spring and fall.

RE: 2017 GMC SIlverado Crew Cab Short Box

I didn’t have my phone on me to take a picture. The biggest menace was a 7500 pound trailer on a 36” extension bar. I wanted to get out to see how well the 883 was strapped down.

2017 GMC SIlverado Crew Cab Short Box

Really got to see the potentials of a 2017 Sierra/Silverado 1500 Short Bed 5.5 ft bed. It had kayak racks loaded, Harley Davidson 883 in bed with rear wheel on tailgate. It was towing a 30 foot Jayco white hawk RLS with 2 bike rack strapped to rear bumper rack. WDH Reese straightline hitch was attached to 36 inch hitch extension to clear the tailgate down. My mind is made up on the half ton truck do all!

RE: Front floor water damage need to remove heater-seats

I’d scrap it. The job you are doing involves removing entire floor, adding aluminum supports to frame, sandwiching new foam between two layers of luan. Supporting side walls, recreating front wall and putting entire project back together. Good luck!

RE: Awning?

The previous owner repaired the fabric but did not replace the hardware that was damaged. The parts that are missing would cost more to replace than buying a new one. So no repairing this one. Jayco style awning poles and hardware can be replaced by any poles and rigging you can find at hardware stores. My rain/kids episode bent the main header bar. I looked around property and found a heavier gauge bar. Drilled 3 holes and then boom had a new hardware setup.

RE: Gizmos for Hybrid Ends

Yes pugz are worth the investment. Summer good, winter great, spring/fall no issues with condensation.
