RE: Camping at Pocono Raceway

Unfortunate you will have to wait until this years infield campers are contacted to renew for next year. Next year's Pocono Weekend will have two races held on the same weekend (June 2020). That means two groups of campers will have to fit into one weekend event (assuming no duplicates). I have been in the reserve camping spots between turn 2 & 3) but the word is they will be opening up camping in turn 1. From an experience standpoint its great...concert and event during the weekend in the infield. Only drawback compared to other tracks is the bathrooms and showers.

RE: Miles per day.

I am 51 and when traveling with family we only have so much time. So I may knock of 300 miles after work only to do 600 the next day to get to our destination. I have traveled up and down the east coast and without a doubt I average 50 miles per hour taking into effect bathroom brakes, traffic etc.

RE: Towing Golf Cart on Utility Trailer

Golf carts are not built to withstand traveling long distances at 70 mph on an open trailer. Roofs, windshields, acessories and the like can come loose or otherwise be damaged. You should consider a good cover. I have seen suggested that I leave the windshield down to allow the wind to blow through. I have a Class A so the higher roof line should help block the wind more than say pulling with a truck/car.

Towing Golf Cart on Utility Trailer

Just looking for any advice of lessons learned. I will be picking up a golf cart and 5' x 10' utility trailer. I have a Fleetwood Bounder 34B class A. I bought a 8" drop down hitch to help level the trailer and ratchet tie downs for the four corners of the cart. Any thing else I should be considering for the 900 mile ride from Massachusetts to Myrtle Beach.

RE: Help getting out of NYC

I just did this same route a few weeks back from Liberty Harbor. I suggest going Rt78 west and pickup Rt287 north. This will avoid GW Bridge and put you over the Tappen Zee Bridge. You stopping at Normandy Farms in Foxboro? Its a great Resort Yes, we are staying in Normandy Farms. It looks great. We have 3 nights there. It sounds like that route around the GW bridge is the way to go. I know it is impossible to avoid all tolls in that part of the country, but I am hoping to avoid the BIG tolls. My father in law went over the the GW bridge two years ago in his class C towing a smart car and it was almost $100 to cross. He thought they were joking. They weren't. I have my EZ pass transponder box ready. We have budgeted for some tolls on this trip. Normandy Farms is a 5star resort you will love it. I live 30 minutes from there and grew up going there with family. Three out door pools, one indoor, hot tubs etc etc....it has everything including a great dog park. I use my EZPass over the Tappen Zee all the time.

RE: Interstate 95

Avoid Boston area at all times...I work in Boston and traffic is always bad.You can take Rt495 off of Rt95 north and go around Boston and heavier congested areas.

Indy 500 Camping

Well of course watching the Indy 500 has peaked my interest about camping with a class A motorhome. Have have been to several NASCAR events but never Indy. Any information or thought would be greatly appreciated. Do they allow infield camping? Is that the best approach? What should I be thinking of for a first timer? What is a must see and do?

RT95 Corridor Area Attractions

I will be traveling down to Myrtle Beach from Massachusetts and was looking for area attractions for a short stop or overnight stay. I would be looking for items south of DC and not to far off of RT95. I looked into the Wilmington Area that then would allow me a direct road south to Myrtle Beach. Just something to break up the ride. Thanks
