RE: Nashville with kids?

If you stay at the Opryland Hotel they have an indoor water park. Your children may be interested in the Adventure Science Museum for children. And as Crowe stated the Nashville Zoo would be great. You could also consider the General Jackson Boat.

Land Between the Lakes

Looking for input for Land Between the Lakes campgrounds. Thoughts on the various campgrounds if you have stayed at more than one. Are there any that you wouldn't go back to, if not, why? Naturally, we would like to have a site on the water, but we enjoy heavily wooded sites too. We are looking at the Piney Campground in the Southern area. Any other nice ones you have experienced in that area? And, yes, we have searched the archives on this site regarding Land Between the Lakes, before anyone suggests that. ;) Regards, The Piddlers

RE: Model year differences

Something to think about regarding the 2018 is when did the dealer actually receive the unit? Mid to late 2017 or early 2018? How long has it been on the lot? How old are the tires already? I tend to think of how many people and traffic that trailer has already had in it sitting on the lot. How many times the fridge has been opened, the recliners have been opened, the bed raised, the shower opened, etc. and that would make me take pause. While I realize there is potentially money to be saved and that weighs heavy but at the same time consider the use that trailer has already endured by sitting on the lot that long with every Mom & Pop and 2 or 3 children browsing over it. Best wishes for whichever unit you purchase and happy camping!

RE: Slides out / level

Sorry, I can't keep my fingers silent any more! This responses on this post are the reason why I quit posting completely on these forums. No one here has truly answered the OP's question. Everyone is side tracked, bashing the OP with WalMart parking etiquite. Did anyone even bother to read her question? It started out: "If we stop for a night at say Walmart"... In other words, If we stop for at night at say (for example) Walmart.... what about my slides if I'm parked on an unlevel suface. Her question has nothing to do with WalMart. But no, everyone jumps on WalMart overnight parking. Sheesh! I sent the OP a PM and explained the possible repercussions if extending the slide outs on an unlevel plain. OK, so bash ME again, and again and again. I'll post again in a few months! I am so glad you are back! I sent you a pm when you left. Thank you for giving a true answer to the post! I firmly believe that between Dutchmensport and Old Biscuit anything can be resolved or fixed.

RE: Rear-Living TTs: Likes, dislikes, features, models...

Previously we had a rear living Keystone Passport Elite 31RE. Loved it!!!!!! It had the 2 full slides with many windows and it was wonderful! In the event of rainy weather it was so nice to have all that space in the living area. Counter space is a biggie for us. We like to have room for the coffee maker, toaster, etc. and not have to move things around. We had a corner shower stall in that trailer and a full queen size walk around bed so no complaints. Really can't think of any negatives. We have since went to a Grand Design Reflection 303RLS Fifthwheel because we wanted more cargo space. We now have the big window on the back and it's wonderful when camping at the lake. Can't beat the view. Good Luck!

RE: Andersen Hitch questions

We have a 2017 F250 and have no issues. We pull a Grand Design 303 RLS, it tows level, we have good rail clearance and no issues with connecting. We also have no issues with turning radiance. So far so good with the Andersen!

East Tennessee

We would like to visit East Tennessee later this year and are looking for suggestions. We are not city specific but would like to be a 30 to 45 minute drive in to Sevierville, Gatlinburg, etc.. We prefer electric (50 Amp) & water and don't necessarily need sewer as long as there is a dump station. Prefer wooded sites in a more natural setting. Typically we do not stay in "parking lot" style campgrounds. I have searched the archives on the forum but haven't been able to find the information. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

RE: Andersen Hitch issue

We have a Ford F-250 and use the Andersen Hitch and have no issues with it. Wish I could be of some help but we have never encountered the issue you are having.

RE: Guilty pleasures

My guilty pleasure is walking around the campground everyday for exercise and looking at the other trailers thinking, wow, that's pretty, or wow, what were they thinking, or wow, how did they bring so much stuff. I like to do this also. I like seeing others peoples rigs and a few times have struck up a conversation with the owners. They might give a wave and I will stop and say something like "THAT is ONE NICE RIG" and proceed to ask how they like it, how long they've had it and it always leads to where have you been and what places have you liked best. Great conversations are had and friendships are made. My other guilty pleasure is eating well. Cooking on my grill from fresh fish and shrimp to filet mignon. Oh, and some Jack Daniels No.27. Good stuff. Couldn't agree more! We have met some really nice and interesting folks. Really didn't think about the cooking aspect but normally we try a few different things that we don't cook at home. Have tried several different wood grilled experiments.

RE: Hard for us to get past Grand Design

We made the change this year and went from Keystone to Grand Design. Like you we went to a couple RV shows and various brand dealerships. We liked the floor plan and the finishes in the Grand Design.

RE: One thing you use ALL the time?

Weather permitting we always use the awning with our folding rockers and the fire pit most every evening while enjoying a nice beverage.

RE: What's the one thing that you have but hardly EVER use?

Like others have stated we have never used the oven except for bread storage. We purchased a set of round grapevine ball string lights for the canopy and we have never used them.

RE: We finally bought our first Travel Trailer!

Well we finally did it.....we (my wife and I) bought our very first travel trailer! A Grand Design Transcend 26RLS. We are supposed to pick it up in the third week of April. We really liked the layout of the trailer. It seems to fit our needs exactly. So now we need to pick up the other RVing essentials like sewer hoses, water hoses, surge protectors etc. Your recommendations and suggestions are welcome and appreciated! I was thinking of getting a 20' and 10' sewer hose. Is that enough? What is the best brand to use? Waste Master? Rino? Other? I'm planning to install a hard wired surge protector. What type? Are there any other must haves? You should join the Grand Design Forum. Lots of great info their also.

RE: Forest river plant explosion

Forest big lost A fire is always a loss to someone, their home, their workplace, their lively hood. A fire is not a joking matter.
