RE: Lake Isabella RV Resort

That place was the the worst we've ever been to- bar none. If you have to be in the area find another spot. I can't recommend any though. A little further west is Bakersfield- where there's a huge selection of great spots.

RE: Tips for California early April RV trip

If you like the Desert, see Borrego Springs. Lots of choices in rv parks too. We liked the luxurious- Springs at Borrego. Mineral baths, pool, golf and great dining nearby.

RE: Suggest a sewer hose kit.

Just bought a new TT and waste dump will be a new experience for me. Research on sewer hose leads me to the Rhinoflex. The 20' version is two 10' sections joined together. In my mind, the fewer connections the better. The other version is a 15' single hose. Q: Is 15' generally long enough? I am also intrigued by the WasteMaster / DrainMaster type which uses a Cam Lock fitting. Supposedly a fluid transfer "industry standard." Q: Anyone using these? Obviously more expensive, but better? Less prone to accident? The existing waste fitting has to be modified. Problem? I have the Polychute- which was the Cadillac before Waste Master came along. It's the same construction though with the head permanently attached (has integrated sewer donut and shut off valve). It's going on 10 years with no issues. It was priced similarly to the new Waste Master as well. The real difference between the two is the cam lock. Mine has the standard bayonet but has never leaked. You'd have to look at other reviews to determine if it's a good system. My blogger friend Ray Burr has used his for a few years now and seems to like it. You can watch his videos on it here: Waste Master mods THANKS!

RE: Laws/Regulations for RV Fresh & Waste Water Service

NFPA 1192 covers plumbing and other systems in RVs. Doesn't prohibit grey water emptying into the black tank if that's what you meant. Sure wouldn't want to share "fresh" water and "waste" water. :E :)

RE: Finding 12v wires for vent fan

If you have a light fixture within a foot or so of the vent opening you can just use a coat hanger and bend a hook at one end. You're just going to be fishing through some Styrofoam to intercept a set of 12v wires. Then just tap into the hot side before the light and jumper it back to the fixture...same with the neg side.

RE: Lake Shasta

There's a place at the north end at Lake Head on the Sacramento arm. Has rv spots on the other side of the road with a little market a block away. Also a great burger place on the lake side of the road. They are going to raise the level by at least 20 feet in the next couple of years....closing most/all resorts on the lake side of the road.

RE: Rhinoflex... Not what it used to be

There are adapters available that adapt female to male bayonet from the cam lock..also vice versa.

RE: Rhinoflex... Not what it used to be

Add up what you'd pay over 10 years or so on cheap stuff.

RE: Best Used Class C's? Rank your top five.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Lazy Daze yet. Very solid and although no slides are offered the floor plans are pretty good. Good retro design as well- all aluminum exteriors. Although our both our C's were Fleetwoods- the first was a Tioga, then a Jamboree. Both were good although admittedly not the best.

RE: Stuckey's

dedmiston, Thanks for that. I actually remember some of those offerings but I also remember ordering off the big person's menu. The other fun thing was when my Dad and Mom decided to get off the road early on some days so we could go swimming.
