RE: Dealer Services

Thank you everyone for their response. That is exactly what I thought. but I needed some backup when I told my friend. She is recently widowed and mentioned this to the dealer and they saw a sucker. I went with her to look it over Yesterday and the first thing out is I do not have to lie and I don't. That sent up a signal for me. I always heard the one that says I don't lie, look out. Thanks for all your thoughts on this matter. Jim

Dealer Services

I have a friend looking to buy a used travel trailer. Is it normal for these charges, 1, $300. walk through after the sale 2, $285 Cleaning fee 3, $400 Check gas appliances. I think they are out to lunch, but I have not had any dealer dealings in over twenty years. Help me out. Thanks in advance. Jim

RE: The price of new trucks is beyond comprehension!

I have often thought the OEM’s should offer a version of their vehicles that don’t contain all of the advancements and safety features of the last 40 years. They probably could sell them at a much reduced price for those that don’t like car prices of today. Of course the consumer would need to sign a waiver stating they won’t sue when they are injured or more likely killed when in an accident. If you park a 35-40 year vehicle next to a new vehicle the differences are astounding. Yes, but you could work on that 35-40 year old truck with room to spare. I worked at a Ford dealer in 1978 and that was the first year trucks hit the $10,000 mark.
