RE: Germs, viruses and fuel pump handles and doors

Fuel pump handles, perhaps are the worse for spreading germs and viruses ,maybe with door handles of businesses being first. Someone who has just finished shoveling out the barn or milking parlor, or has a cold or flu or a virus most usually does/may not wash their hands or use a sanitizer of disinfectant wipe before pumping fuel, or entering a store. We carry the little packages of disinfectant wipes but don't always think to wipe our hands...and the pump handle with them. We are changing that if we can find more wipes. I always use disposable nitrile gloves to pump diesel as 99% of the tiem they are oily with leaking diesel and you can wash all day and not get the diesel out of your hands except by wiping on the upholstery it seems sometimes. Maybe I need to sue them to pump gas too and even open doors of gas station. But for certain wee will wipe the pump handles with disinfectant wipes. Would be good if fuel stops haad them next to the pumps. Where is the data support your claim about fuel pump handles?

RE: Is Socializing a Dying Thing in the RV Community?

Was excited to get back into RVing in the last year as both the wife & I had done a lot of RVing in past lives going back a # of yrs. One of the things we were looking forward to was getting to meet new people along the way. So far in a 1/2 dozen trips or so back into it, with the exception of 1 trip we've only seen what I would call 'shut-ins'. Understand not everyone wants to chit-chat with strangers / some might prefer peace & quiet, but it's really been kind of a drag not running into neat / interesting people while camping. Never thought one would have to join a club in order to have some social interaction out on the road but I'm beginning to wonder if that's just the way it is nowadays.... Maybe they don't want to be bothered by people trying to chat them up.

RE: Upgraded my tow vehicle, do I still need a WDH?

You really don't understand the purpose of the WDH. A WDH has nothing to do with your truck and everything to do with the load carrying capacity of your receiver. Sound like you need to educate yourself on the subject, I suggest going to the manufacturer of your receiver and get the numbers. Then compare to the tongue weight of your trailer. Most likely you have the standard class III hitch; 5K lbs weight carrying and 10K lbs weight dist. Tongue weight is 500 lbs weight carrying and 1000 lbs weight dist.

RE: Dog Attack

In many cases where a dog attack occurs, the irresponsible owner is the problem. With this type owner, pet has no training, often times no vet care/vaccinations, and the owner, little income/assets. It leaves the injured party almost no recourse to recover losses. The attacking dog may be confiscated/put to death, but little comfort for the victim, be it your pet, child, or yourself. Sadly the irresponsible owner will eventually just get another dog. Jerry Yes surely it it couldn't be because certian breeds are bred and have instincs to kill.

RE: Campsite Sanitation - Beware

I really dont see the problem. If you hadn't seen it you would never know either. Doesn't mean it didn't happen. The problem could be: exposure to raw sewage could result in unwanted sickness or disease for the exposed individual. Just Google: Human exposure to untreated sewage. Or if you are a pet person and your Fido walks through the raw sewage and then walks through your RV and hops into bed beside you.....well ......you might as well share a toilet seat with a stranger before the paperwork is completed. Think about it. Sanitation, like others have mentioned, is a good practice to add to one's routine. Lakeside Theres sanitation...then germaphobia. There is no way that anything was contaminated by a guy rinsing his hose. People (probably you) are way too quick to jump on someone who doesn't do things exactly the same as them. Doesn't mean a problem.

RE: Disinfecting water lines

How is bacteria going to go against the flow of water and into your hose?
