RE: RV sites recommendations for Roseburg,OR, Brookings OR

A cheaper alternative to 7 Feathers is the Douglas county park about 1/2 mile from the casino. Stanton RV Park. It is right on the river. Downside is that it is close to I-5 and traffic noise al night, so if you sleep lite... Casino shuttle will pickup there too. Harris Beach State Park in Brookings. Also Drifwood RV Park isn't too bad but a tad cozy to the neighbors.

RE: Places to stay near Mt. Ranier, Olympic and Crater Lake NPs

Ok, so I now have a place booked near Packwood to see Mt Rainier NP. Any suggestions for areas around Crater Lake NP? Airbnb/VRBO doesn't have much that seems very close... Crater Lake Lodge

RE: Camping near Moab, Utah

A decent place to eat is Moab Dinner in center of town. A full service place with breakfast all day. Lunch and dinner too. Prices were reasonable, service good, coffee okay. They have ice cream freezer and handmade shakes so if your looking for something sweet...

RE: Camping near Moab, Utah

We are in Moab Rim Campground right now and it is a nice setup. Few miles south of town on the east side. Nice, well laid out park, the caretaker is quite a character. Sits above the highway and there is a lot of traffic noise but it calms down at night. Sites are fairly level but gravel roads and sites. Lot of pull through. Good mix of cabins and tent sites. Several have no sewer, but dump station on site. I would return.

RE: How to eat a onion ring

Grab, fold and stuff in mouth. Immediately grab cold beer to chill the roasted fingers, get the beer to your mouth and cool it. If you do this fast enough you won't get blisters in your mouth.

RE: Cummins/Onan Air Filter Removal

Can't remember the details now but you have to get it angled just perfect, use adult words or pray, take a break, then it comes out. To reinstall about the same.

RE: RVs and California's Planned Power Outages

High Winds....could take transmission lines down Better to have the power OFF then lines falling energized, starting fires and then no repairs can be done until fires are contained Seems PG&E can't win for trying! Like they tried so hard to fix (cover up) Hinkley and the Hexavalent chromium contamination?

RE: Hearing aids

I got mine at Costco, for less than half the, price of the “hearing specialists “ Yep that is what I did. Back story is that I went to an audiologist that my Doctor recommended. They ordered in my hearing aids for a nifty $4,000. Went to pick them up and one didn't work so they sent them back. While I was waiting for the replacements I went to Costco, got a test, (and the results were same as the audiologist test) and walked out with a pair, in ears, for $2,000. Several months later back at the Doctor for followup and he was giving his stamp of approval on my new ears. I told him my story. His dad had recently got new ears ($5000) and had dropped one. While looking for it it got stepped on, totaled. They brought back to the audiologist and they replaced the broken one for $500. Like doctor said "Now we know what they really cost." Mine are 9 years old, but for the first five years I only wore them on weekends, as I worked in a fairly noisy environment. Last time I had a retest at Costco they said no change in my hearing. And my hearing aid were now obsolete so take care of them.

RE: New Ford Chassis

That should mean we'll see them on the 2021 RVs. The chassis are always the previous year from the coach. Always the possibility that Ford built up the V10 inventory to carry them through the retooling so maybe it will be a mid-year 2021 change. What I wonder is how long Ford will keep producing the old E-450 chassis before beefing up the new van system to replace it. Not always. I have a 2011 on a 2011. I know of some on a two year old chassis too. 2016 0n a 2016 F53

It appears that you said the parks get "very little money from the general fund." In fact it gets NONE from the general fund. The General Fund isn't Federal grants.
RedRollingRoadblock 09/04/19 08:35pm RV Parks, Campgrounds and Attractions

That is interesting, here in Oregon we are still opening new parks both East and West side of the Cascades. OPRD has a good funding system that gets very little money from the general fund. Main sources are User Fees, RV registration Fees (60% goes to parks), and a share of Lottery dollars. No exactly. 2011-13: $181.5M 2013-15: $189.6M 2015-17 (budgeted): $201.9M 2017-19 request: $219.5M Money comes from: Oregon Lottery (47 percent), visitor fees / RV fees (47 percent), federal grants (6 percent)

Go north and stay in a Washington park. Problem solved. Washington State parks also close loops. the state park on my island will be closing 2 out of the 3 loops soon. Who cares? Then he can complain about that too.

RE: Ford Questions

It likely will look like this. If you don't have one buy an 1 1/8 (?) socket and an extension will work. You don't need to tighten them very tight, just snug them down. And watch for tire shops that attack them with the impact wrench.
