RE: Pop ups

The only manufacturer still offering popups is Forest River under the Rockwood and Flagstaff brands. They're overpriced flimsy pieces of junk.. Yep.

RE: Pop ups

PS: No... we didn't get anything new... still dragging around our old Viking. Truthfully, it has spoiled us... nothing we've looked at, even the NEW stuff, isn't as roomy or as panoramic as our PUPTENT!

RE: Pop ups

Maybe they just haven't found this forum yet...? I do know this: with the real estate market as overheated as it's been, a whole lot of folks have been taking advantage of the insane valuations in their homes, taking the money and "going mobile" in RVs (including pop-ups) until things cool down and they can afford to buy back in again. As a result, your everyday, average pop-up has gone from relatively affordable to crazy expensive, and that's IF you can find one! We actually had to get on a list with a local dealer and wait for a USED pop-up to come available! If past is prologue, though, the housing market will cool and maybe we'll see a spike in availability of lightly used RVs and pop-ups at much more reasonable prices as folks return to fixed housing. We can dream, can't we?

RE: 87 to 85 octane-what altitude?

Roger that, QC... in my experience, it's hard to beat a RAM, no matter the year, no matter the octane! Drive safe. - m

RE: 87 to 85 octane-what altitude?

Thanks for the info. I am presuming you mean 85 octane when you refer to low test. I should have been more specific... low-test here (in AZ) is 87. By the way, we're almost always hauling or pulling something, if not our Viking, then a ½-ton utility trailer for the business.

RE: 87 to 85 octane-what altitude?

We run the same engine as yours on low-test, we live at 6200', make weekly runs down to 1400' and back, no knocks, no pings, no problem.

RE: Tent Trailer Set Up Question

You might want to consider an Aliner... it's hard-sided and as close to "push-button" operation as a pop-up tent trailer can get. We're seriously looking for one to replace our old Viking.
