RE: Ideas on selling Thousand Trails membership

Escapees, a full timer focused organization has a memberships section on their rvnetwork.com forum site to post memberships for sale. Might have success there.

RE: Brake system for 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

What kind of tow bars do you have? We have the ready elite tow bars with integrated mechanical brake. Nothing to install in the car and not invasive to electronics. The Ready Brute Elite does require the installation of a cable from the brake lever on the tow bar to the brake pedal on the vehicle, but other than that it's a great system: we use it on our 2020 Jeep Gladiator and our 2022 Jeep Wrangler. 2X on the Ready Brute Elite. It's a simple system that works. If you're handy, there's some excellent videos to help with installation and on the Roadmaster wiring (with diodes) on the Grand Cherokee. You'll have to take the front fascia of the GC off for the installation. Kinda scary at first especially since it was only months old when I did it. I drilled holes through the brake petal to connect the cables and feel it's a good way to do it.

RE: F/T RVer Health Insurance - Feedback

We had both and would suggest going elsewhere. Wouldn't pay for a flu shot and DW's female tests. If you have an existing med issue, they won't cover anything for the 1st yr of coverage. Didn't work with Mike Neighbours Good luck

RE: Slides out or autolevelers down first?

On my 2014 DP with airbags as I posted prior it is advised to drop air from the airbags, deploy leveling jacks With the engine running (will not operate if not) then move the slides out after the engine is shut down, slides will not operate with the engine running, nor for that matter will the awning deploy with the engine running. My slides will work while the engine is running. While my directions from Newmar doesn't say to; one very experienced and knowledgeable poster suggests (on newer Newmar DPs) to run the engine while using the slide motors because they are connected to the chassis batteries. All this leads to as per stated previously, each needs to follow the directions for their units.

RE: Slides out or autolevelers down first?

On our rig, while aired up slides out first then level. On leaving air up bags, slides in then jacks up. That must be something new for Newmar, they were always level first then slides. I'm thinking maybe the full wall slide has changed things from the old days. My 2015 Dutch Star instructions says to leave aired up, don't level first, deploy slides. Same as Ro"n"Joe. I believe this instruction is there to protect the full wall slide. Yes it's backward to some but that's why you follow mfg's instructions. I'm 8 years in following Newmars instructions & no issues. I'm guessing you have the newer "Star Chassis". I was told at factory pickup that the slideouts are setup to work with airbags inflated. Nothing was mentioned about protecting the full wall slide.

RE: PEI

We liked Marco Polo Land Campgrounds in Cavendish. Big rig friendly and stayed 7 nights last summer.

RE: Big Bend National Park - RV PARKS

2X on BJ's in Terlingua for 7 nights last March. IMO nicer than Big Bend Resort down the road. Don't bother going with a clean RV since campgrounds are dusty.
