RE: Diesel vs Gas

In my opinion it is much easier to drive a diesel pusher that a gas MH. A pusher is also quieter. The engine never seems to strain like a gas engine. The ride is much better. I always seem to have a lot of power.

RE: tire pressure

We use 100 in front and 110 on rears. Have done this for 18 years this works best for us. We have a lot of weight 35,000 lbs to hold up.

RE: Insurance declared value of used motor home

Please do yourself a favor. On our first diesel motorhome we had ACV. We had it in indoor storage. Two years later the facility burned to the ground. The insurance company wanted to give us 1/2 of what we paid. It took us one full year to settle the claim. We did get more than what they originally offered but it was far from what we should have gotten. On the motorhome we purchased to replace it we now have a stated value. We can't live thru that again. Chances are we will never have another total loss but if we do we will get what we paid.

RE: Selling MH

I've sold trailers and vehicles all sorts of things on Craigslist. It works the best for me. You do have to be careful of scammers. But you still have to be careful on other sites also.

RE: Cost to install apparatus for Flat-towing

Our Jeep dealer charged me $300.00 to install the base plate on the Jeep. I purchased a new Roadmaster Sterling from a person who never used it because they traded their motorhome for a 5th wheel for $200.00. Saw it on Craigslist. I think I paid about $250 for the base plate.

RE: Is A New 2018 Still New?

A few years ago I purchased a new 3 yr old camper that was advertised for 30% off. My offer to them was 50% off for cash. They said no way but before I left the dealership I signed the papers for just what I offered 50% off.

RE: Help finding fresh date Tires

I agree with the other posts. I have ordered three sets of tires since I have owned our motorhome. I have always requested no dates older than 6 months. Twice some of the tires were older when they came in but the dealers caught that and reordered newer ones. It seems to be difficult to order absolutely new tires. My dealer said they do not make motorhome tires daily they make them on cycles.

RE: Low air alarm in 2000 Monaco Diplomat

Note what I said was two sensors. My mechanic thought he solved it replacing one sensor only to find out he needed to replace two. He said it is confusing with all the wires but found the second sensor.

RE: Low air alarm in 2000 Monaco Diplomat

We had the same problem with our 2001 Holiday Imperial. It was one of the air sensors. There were two.

RE: Do you leave plugged into shore power...?

Even when we winterize it and in storage for the winter we keep it plugged in.

RE: Pros and Cons of owning a class A RV

Pro the convenience when driving down the road. You need or want something you got it no stopping to get outside to get it. Bad storm no worries you're already in the camper. My wife has several health issues and she can sleep as needed while I keep driving to our destination. Con If it breaks down it is much more of an issue getting it repaired and while it's being fixed you have no place to stay. Much easier to find a place to get a tow vehicle repaired and much much less expensive. Even with the higher cost of expense of maintaining and running a motorhome we feel it's the only way to go.
