RE: Water heater

I forget what they call it but it is using engine coolant to heat water when on the road.

RE: Missing orange cover on marker light; Water leakage concerns

I looks a lot like the ones on my 2005. Mine is marked Bargman 59. The number is molded in on the outside. I think per DOT the number has to be on the lens.

RE: Mopkka tank Sensors

My biggest problem is the battery life. We don't use a lot of propane so the sensors need a new battery long before I have to remove them for a refill. I am a tinkerer so I converted mine to a remote battery system. I have a 2 AA battery holder with a switch on it so that I can switch them off when we are not using the camper. This battery box is mounted via magnets to the side of the propane cylinder. This gives me several years of battery life.

RE: Pnumatic car jacks for leveling?

I think you will find it rather bouncy but I can't see any safety issues.

RE: Propane smell inside oven

When we leave our oven pilot light lit for a few days, my wife can smell it. What she smells is not propane though, it is propane combustion byproducts. Get a propane detector and put it in there. They are very sensitive. If there is propane, it will tell you. Otherwise, it is probably combustion byproducts you smell.
My thought as well.

RE: 2020 with stain above awning

It looks like a joint in the trim just to the left of the stains. My guess is that water is getting in and rusting the screws.

RE: Dou Therm 57915.622 won't work.

There should be 2 wires(probably blue) from the furnace to the controller. They need to go to the thermostat. The thermostat is just a switch that connects the 2 wires to turn the furnace on and disconnect the wires to turn the furnace off. You can test the furnace by connecting the 2 wires at the controller and the furnace should work. If the furnace works just extend the wires to the thermostat(common and heat) and you should be good to go.

RE: Finally got the truck, next will the fifth wheel fit ?.

The real question you need to answer is what are the height of the bed rails and overhang of the 5th wheel. The newer trucks are higher than they were a few years ago so in many cases the older 5th wheels are not high enough without some modifications. If you are looking at new 5er's you won't have any problems but a tape measure is your best friend when looking at anything used.

RE: Extended stay propane use

You can't see it from the picture but the male acme threaded end also has the left handed thread inside it where your regulator will attach. The acme thread is fairly new for propane and the older left hand connection is inside on most everything. You just have to look at it.

RE: Propane Tank Level Indicators

wa8yxm didn't include the Mopeka in his list so that makes 5 types.
I have used the Mopeka for several years now. They are way more accurate than most of the others. I have made some modifications that have improved their operation considerably.
1. We don't use much propane so the battery life was less than I would have liked as the battery ran down before the propane needed filling. I modified the sensors with a remote battery holder with 2 AA batteries.
2. I made my own spacers which are bolted to the tank so they don't fall off.
3. I shimmed and added a spot of Velcro to the free end of the sensor so that it maintains good contact with the tank.

RE: Any experience with GM rear view camera ?

No real experience with the camera but I think the plug in is located with the 7 way so you might be OK with the length depending on how you route the wire.

RE: leak at connection to drain pipes and Holding tank

I think you fixed it.
Several years ago I had noticed a slight odor from my gray tank when it was about 3/4 full. I figured out that it was coming from where the drain pipe went into the top of the tank. Further investigation showed the the tank had a rubber grommet that the pipe went thru and the floor forced the pipe slightly to the side which deformed the grommet so that it leaked. A few minutes with a Dremel and no more smell. At least I had easy access to the problem area.

RE: mounting the tireminder booster under a fifth wheel triler

Mine (not Tireminder) is mounted on the ceiling of the front storage bay. The nearby light has 12 volts so it was easy to wire with a switch so I can turn it on while I am breaking down camp.

RE: Refill small propane cylinder

you can refill the green bottles too.
I refill my 30lbs tanks, and then use this adapter to refill my little green tanks from the big tank.

The only problem is that you can't legally transport them per DOT .

RE: RV style AC attic duct work - what is it called, brand etc

I think that they are made of foam board. They are cut to size for what is needed and taped together. Most any foam board will work but the aluminium faced is the best choice. If the big box building supply stores do not have the thinner foam board any HVAC supply will.

RE: Observation--newer trucks tow fivers a bit nose high

I opted to have my 2007 Chevy restored because the new ones are 5 or 6 inches higher. There was no way I wanted to raise the 5er that much.

RE: Furrion Chill 14.5 & 15.5 unit's both use 15.4 amps?

Simple physics. The reason they both have the same amp draw is because they use the same compressor and fan. The difference in the BTU ratings is that the condenser and evaporator are different size.

RE: DIY electrical system

The wiring will not support using both at the same time. It is either one or the other. There is minimal current available for keeping a battery charged when driving.
