RE: 5th wheel lifting bracket

I’ve got a B&W Companion hitch so about six months ago purchased this same lift bracket. I didn’t like the price either but my Chiropractor charges $55 per visit so for me it’s the lesser of two evils. The lift bracket makes easy work with the Companion hitch for removal and installing it back. Money well spent

RE: Fifth Wheel Riding Nose High

Just making sure on this, can the pinbox be adjusted? Ours was a bit nose high, I lowered the nose by raising the pinbox up from the middle setting to the highest. The results lowered the nose to be almost perfect level.

RE: MorRyde steps - one solution

As my Dad used to say, “necessity is the Mother of invention”. Nice solution you came up with. I have Torklift Steps on ours, not intending to be negative against MorRydes, but have had a few times when the 4 step unit we have needs longer legs hitting the ground. I’m about to add a fifth step which will sold those situations.

RE: New style entry steps

The Torklift Revolution Glow Steps are a far better step. The are adjustable up an down and you can get in your camper even in a tight garage.... Completely agree. If you ever have a situation where space is limited next to the unit you will not be able to deploy them, but the Torklifts you will. We store ours and I see many with the MorRydes pulling theirs out to get inside. We have Torklifts and even onepce with the unit next to us so close we couldn’t get our door open all the way I could still get our steps out and safely inside.

RE: Faded front cap

Bob, have you decided on a color? I have a buddy who caught something on the lower part of the front cap of his TT which was replaced. The new one needed Singed so he spent a little extra and had it done in a two tone with one color matching his truck color. Your front cap would look nice matching your truck.

RE: Handrail and Ceiling Light

Would you have a link to the dining light? Also, we have a 2016 27-5L which I recently relocated the light switch that’s under the upper cabinet controlling the two lights above the sofa (big improvement in being able to ready it). If you aren’t on the NROA Site where I posted it let me know, I’ll send you info if interested

RE: Traveling with the roof vent open

We have vent covers on ours so they are well protected. If not I would have them closed. Sometimes I have them open but never in dusty areas

RE: Gray Tank Insulation

Nicely done improvements. Owning a 2016 AF 27-5L, I was recently adding a bracket to the frame for JT Steongarms so needed to cut back the Coraplast in two small area. I was surprised to see the area covered by the Coraplast showing a bit more surface rust than the frame totally exposed. Next summers project!

RE: Fridge Defend ARP Device

I installed one on ours a couple years ago, spent a good amount of time reading and rereading the instructions for my Dometic. The toughest part was reaching up for the sensor on the flue and not cutting my arm on the sharp tin. It works well.

RE: Locks on Propane tanks?

Propane Compartment doors are NOT suppose to be locked (easy access to service valves if needed)Just about every fifth wheel has propane in the lockable front compartment or lockable side compartments. I see no reason for public access.Neither of our two fifth wheels or two others I'm familiar with have locking doors for the propane access. X2 Every 5er I have owned or looked at didn’t have locks on the propane access doors.x3, NO locks! X4, but I did drill the hold down between the two tanks to lick the wing nut with a long shank Masterlock I had on hand.

RE: Recommendations for 30 -32 ft 5th wheel

I like the looks of the Grand Design but I don't know about the frames and running gear, maybe someone can enlighten me. To me the most important things are stuff you don't see. Wiring plumbing, frames, axles along with the fit and finish. Completely agree, was looking at GD before purchasing our Arctic Fox 27-5L near,y 4 years ago. No comparison when comparing the frame and many components they are made from. Never had a regret.

RE: storing power cord on new f'ver

I have a 50 amp SO cord I easily for iinto a milk crate along with adapters and other things occasionally needed for connecting power. On top of those are wheel chocks that goes down first.

RE: Residential Fridges

I certainly see some day the absorption fridge in outs gets replaced with a residential fridge. My question is for those who have them do you have problems with the door opening in transit, if so what do you do to secure it?

RE: Fold up stairs blocking door

I’ve said the MorRyde Step above would be a deal breaker and last week proved why as the boat parked next to our fifth wheel in storage was so close our door couldn’t fully open. Man handling steps with removable brackets isn’t something I would do even though I could. I debated between the MorRyde and Torklift Steps before selecting the Torklifts and have never been disappointed with them.

RE: Disc Brakes in along with 8k axles.

Wow, fantastic job! I think I would be a little nervous under there while it was only on jack stands, though. :E Thank you! The hydraulic jacks were also down and the jack stands I used were more than plenty to support the weight. I had 10 points in contact with the ground. It was very stable. Same way I’ve done when needing to be under ours without the wheels/tires on. My only difference is I’ve got a 4pt leveling system instead of six. Very solid and I seriously doubt both would fail at the same time. Very nice work!

Nice HD find and thanks for sharing the info. Will be checking it out.

RE: TST 507 parts are expensive.

Why not order numerous packs so you have some extras for next time and cut down on the shipping costs. TST has provided excellent service to me on numerous times with timely emails and replacing a sensor free of charge when one failed after the warranty period was over.

RE: Keyless locks

I’ve had the RV Lock keyless for about 3 years. Simple install, can be opened with the keypad, fob remote and old fashioned key. Like a Ford Truck Guy, imreplacemthe batteries at the beginning of camping season. No problems with anything.

RE: Rubber Roof Cleaner and Protectant

I didn’t use STP back in the day either. Wow, I haven’t even thought of STP since that time. Also, back then we kidded about it really meaning Stop Teenage Pregnancy.

RE: New SRE 4000 and Disk brakes

MorRyde will estimate SRE4000 at about $1100, and you will be amazed how good it is. I’ll agreee with how good the SRE4000 is. I installed them last year on ours and the improvement is noticeable on bridge joints and other bad spots in our roads
