How to reconnect awning lever?

The latch lever is not in the loop. It's been this way since we've had it and just use the long strap rod to push it up to unroll. How can I fix this WITHOUT disassembling the awning arm?
THANKS!

RE: Show us what you cook on!

I'm trying to get some consistency using a portable grill. A few match-light briquettes in the bottom of the charcoal starter and then filled 2/3 with regular, 20 minutes and I have a full layer of hot coals. 7 minutes, then flip, another 7 and they are medium-well. Delicious!
(I can't get consistency using the fire rings, the depths change dramatically for site to site.)

RE: Leak down test on the LP gas system, leak detected.

Too Long, Don't Read?
I think I need to replace the propane valves on the water heater AND the furnace. The propane sniffer is going off near the burners of both appliances!
Update:
April
I took it to the service guy to replace the gas valve, but he found a loose fitting and tightened it up. (Yeah, it was loose because I couldn't get it out without buying more tools).
When I got it home everything was fine. Saturday, the next morning the LP alarm was going off again. Called the dealer, service desk said to check battery voltage, it may alarm on low voltage. Checked it, 12.4. Called back and told them to put a note on record about this and I will get it taken care of after we get back from our trip.
Fast fwd to August (it felt like we were camping every other week for 3 months! It wasn't that often, but felt like it. We took two groups of grandkids with us several trips. That was fun.)
The beginning of Aug I was going to test the propane again. When I turned on the propane I could feel it hissing out from around the valve stem. ****, so we took it to the shop to replace the valve on the propane tank. 2 days later they called and said it was ready and that it wasn't the valve, just a loose connection at the POL fitting. (I should have caught that myself!) Go it home, turned on the propane and it was still hissing around the POL valve! I took the regulator off to check it out. The o-ring looked chewed up, so I went to Ace Hardware to get a new one. BTW, it was 5/8 x 7/16 x 3/32, bought 2.
Now let's test again. Turned on propane, 24hrs later, no alarm, the next day it was alarming again! Broke out the propane sniffer, NOTHING. Could not get it sniff anything. MAYBE it wasn't sensitive enough. Checked the specs, should alarm at 50ppm. Checked the detector, it was saying 17x100ppm, 1700ppm. The sniffer should be going off! Hmmm, took it outside the sniff around the tank, nothing. But it did go off in the water heater burn tunnel. (Same as the furnace when all this started!) ALSO, when we do use the water heater on propane, everytime it lights there is a small explosion like a pop-whoosh-burn, but that may be normal, OR it could be that the burn tunnel is full of propane and the explosion may be larger than it should. (Again, same as the furnace.)
Right now I've moved onto other items on the todo list. I think I'm going to make sure the propane is off (it is now) clear out any propane from inside the water heater and furnace and start testing again.
There is a leak somewhere and I need to find it and fix it so we can use the furnace in a few months when it turns cold.
Still having fun with the camper!

RE: Firestone TransForce HT2 LT225 /75 R16 115R E1 ?

Ahhhhhh... The camper has new shoes! 6 for $1382.
(Yes, they were CV commercial.)
BUT... I put my TPMS on when I got home and all read 80+psi. I've been running 65 on the fronts and 60 on all 4 rear tires, just like the RV sticker says. I found a chart for the commercial tires and used it. 4600# on the front and 8400# on the rear. I'm thinking 65psi all around.

This might get you close to the chart
Chart
Edit: Hmmm, bad link. I'll see if I can find the correct link.
Fixed it?
Thanks, Phil

SC to Maine, our first long trip

We've had our camper since Oct last year and have been the SC State Parks, BTW they are fantastic!
We are planning to leave around April to see our son who lives near Hershey, PA and then onto my SIL near Buffalo, NY. After that we are thinking about going up to.
There's a lot to plan and using the RV Life trip planner.
I've been searching for the top attractions in each state, but that's overwhelming. So for those that know, what are some "must see" locations along the way? I'd like it to be those stops that will forever live in my mind, not just something to check off the list.
What are some ideas for Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire...
Thanks! Phil

RE: Roof repairs

OMG I was not expecting those replies!
For now I'm going to patch it with eternabond and hope for the best.
Hopefully I'll get a few years out of it.
Thanks for the replies.

Roof repairs

Hello all,
Been busy with other stuff and need to update a few threads, but this first: Roof leaks...
On our last trip it rained a lot. When leaving the park, water poured out from the front and rear of the overhead bunk into cab, down onto the dash and down our backs. Probably a cup full but felt like gallons. Sooooo I went on top today to do an inspection.
Above the front clearance lights, I'm sure these were the culprits. I'm thinking eternabond there. Maybe some dicor first then eternabond. Thoughts?
(That water that is showing came from the garden hose, I took it up on top just in case I need it.)
Peeling roof coat, I'm thinking I should peel off these flaps, maybe lightly sand down those areas, scrub the roof and then put on a seal coat. Product and method recommendations?
And around the vent covers? Should I lay some eternabond down here or something else?
All thoughts are appreciated!
Thanks, Phil

RE: Tire covers?

Good info for the newbie!
We are camping monthly in our class c. I think I will use that money toward a new set of tires which will be needed soon as those are almost 7 years old.
Thanks to all!

Tire covers?

Firstly do tire covers help, not much or a lot?
What should I look for when buying tire covers?
Any recommendations on which ones to buy or stay away from?

RE: Replacement furnace valve? Removing valve?

I'm trying to remove the furnace valve. How do I loosen this gas fitting?
There is the aluminum fitting on the left, the brass fitting in the middle and another brass thin fitting on the right up against the furnace wall.
Is the thin brass nut on the right supposed to be held still with a backing wrench while turning the brass middle fitting? Or holding aluminum fitting still on the left and turning the brass middle fitting?
Depending on which one is to be held still will determine which way I turn the middle fitting.
Thanks!

RE: Stuck in yard, ruts. Install driveway? Ideas please.

I was going to mention the cost, but forgot to. It was initially $650, but after developing a blister on my palm, I asked about how much to scrape the grass off the top. So $680 was the final price. I rounded it to $700 and had him fill in a few low spots with the scrapings.
BTW, his dually got stuck dumping the load and had to use his bobcat to pull it out.

RE: Stuck in yard, ruts. Install driveway? Ideas please.

I did it, rather had it done. Scraped the grass off the top, put down driveway cloth, had 6 tons of crusher run spread and compacted, then another 6 tons. It is SOLID!
Forgot to take pics of the entire process, but here's a couple after the first dump and compaction, and then done. Will soon be anchoring the landscaping timbers.

Replacement furnace valve? Removing valve?

The saga started here.
I need to replace the propane valve on my Atwood Hydroflame 8531-II-12v. Part number 33337 White Rodgers Valve 25M16-701 (DC). It is not sealing well and setting off my propane alarm.
Could y'all help me find it. My searches have not found it.
Thanks!

RE: Leak down test on the LP gas system, leak detected.

I think it's going to be the valve, but 1st this video
Edit: more like it opens when not being told.
NOT Valve, control...
Check for continuity (voltage?) across the 2 blue wires before and after water column drop. And battery voltage across red/yellow.
https://i.imgur.com/BMdTTrAl.jpg
Edit again: that's strange, even without the control board plugged in I detected gas in the exhaust port. Hmmm...

RE: Leak down test on the LP gas system, leak detected.

All good stuff above, but I have found 2 problems.
1- regulator to tank connector was loose! I had found it loose before and retightened (hand tight). This time I moved the "c" ring and moved the plastic hand wheel out of the way so I could get to the nut and put a wrench on it.
https://i.imgur.com/1mwpp2ul.jpg
2- Ordered one of those gas sniffers and been hunting the leak. That took a while: turned gas on, went round and round, inside and out for over an hour, nothing! Left the gas on for 2 more hours... tester went off like a rocket inside the furnace housing outside after removing the cover! Went inside to confirm the furnace was off, it was.
Now I need to figure out how to test the furnace system. I want to make sure the thermostat is actually turning off the furnace and it is not a bad thermostat. Then check to make sure the valve is closing the way it should (I think this will be the problem).
STILL, I don't see how the furnace valve being stuck open would cause the propane alarm to go off when going 60mph down the highway. Scratch that, 10mph start/stop traffic congestion.
It has gone off 3 times, once the last night of a week long camp in February, next in that start/stop traffic, then most recently when having the fridge cooling down the day before leaving for a short boondocking experiment.
So this where I am now, troubleshooting the furnace system.
