RE: Tradewinds 2001 model 7390

Check your battery voltage off the batteries. My 6v GC2 batteries are reading 6.4 and 6.3 I have 4 and that is what they are reading

RE: Freedom Remote Control Panel

Any thoughts as to how to post the picture. It's of my Freedom Remote Control Panel inside the MH. The panel does come on when I'm plugged into shore power but doesn't show anything when I disconnect the shore power.

Freedom Remote Control Panel

IMG_1712.JPG This is in my 2001 National Tradewinds and was wondering if it is supposed to light up when I'm not connected to power (50amp) It does light up when I'm plugged into shore power. The picture is of the Freedom Remote Control Panel

Tradewinds 2001 model 7390

My MH has been sitting for about 7 months and today I fired her up with no problems. I have a question on the Freedom Remote Control Panel. As long as I'm plugged into shore power it is lit up showing battery state, DV Volts, DC Amps and incoming AC Breaker Amps, but when I shut down the shore power it shows nothing. Is this the way it is supposed to be? Sorry but it's been awhile since I've used her.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Yesterday my Cookie went to Rainbow Bridge. It was a hard decision but she could hardly walk and her breathing appeared to be difficult. I held her in my arms as she pressed up against me as she went. My other Shih Tzu Rocky just keeps looking for her in the house and yard. I will be getting her back in a week or so in a special Urn with her paw print and a bit of her hair. I don't know what they call that stuff the Vet injected in her but it was so quick and painless for her and that made me feel a little better to know that she did not suffer. She would have been 16 this November 2nd. My Rocky is 2 yrs younger.

RE: Battery Cable Corrosion

I've had the MH plugged into 50amp at my house since mid Dec. Do you think this might be why I have corrosion on the main positive cable, but not on the battery terminal?

Yep, that's it.

RE: Battery Cable Corrosion

What do you think about me cutting off the corroded part of the cable and reattaching it to the clamp?

RE: Battery Cable Corrosion

Simple. Some acid got in the connection. You can clean it up or just replace it. Use heat shrink to seal the insulation to the lug. Otherwise a picture might help. "border=0" For Full-Size Image. See how the corrosion is actually on the battery cable and not the terminal. This cable looks like it is the main one coming to the batteries. Should I try to clean it and then put some vaseline on it or replace it. Not sure where it is connected on the other end.

Battery Cable Corrosion

My hot lead to my 6v batteries (1 of 4) has battery corrosion on the wire just before the hook up clamp. This is the primary positive cable that supports the 4 Duracell GC2 Golf Cart Batteries. Any thoughts as to why this happened? I have the system that replaces the battery cell caps so I can fill my batteries by pumping water into the batteries, anyone remember the name of that system? I need to replace the pump that transfers the water from the container through one of the hoses . This has been installed since 2005 and I have never had any corrosion on my batteries or the cables before now.

Duracell Golf Cart Batteries GC 2

I have a 2001 National Tradewinds and have been using GC 2 Duracell batteries for years. My current ones are 4 years old and I'm thinking of replacing them. When I pulled them up on line at Sam's club The ratings were like 2. What 6 volt batteries are you all using, I need 4. There is no Sam's Club in Saint George Utah.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

A couple of thoughts regarding Cookie: Is this a real seizure or a syncopal attack (fainting) due to the heart condition? If it is only heart related, changing/adding heart meds may be useful, but in the long run this condition won't be reversed. It's kind of unusual for seizures to develop this late in life unless there is another health issue causing the seizure (tumors or metabolic issues). Regardless, a syncopal attack or seizure is usually not painful to the dog. As Dale said, they can be extremely fatiguing and post event most dogs do feel wiped out. Regarding end of life issues, most times the dogs themselves will tell you when they have had enough. Just be tuned in to behavior and be sensitive to Cookie's needs. You both need to come to agreement on final arrangements. The service we use offer a cremation and have an option where an amulet filled with the ashes along with the rest of the remains are provided. Most people who do this bury the remains but keep the amulet someplace special where there isn't a constant reminder. Just an option. What she does when this happens is she lays on her side all stretched out with her legs also stretched out and she shakes and howls really loud, she also passes urine. It doesn't last more then 20-30 seconds. Then she will just lay there for a few mins before she gets up very slowly. Since these last two on Thursday nite and early Friday morning there has been no more. But she does walk very slow and her rear right leg is not moving normally. Even though she weighed in at 13.3 lbs she feels and looks like only skin and bones. She also looks like she is shaking a lot. She won't eat her regular food Hills Science Diet 7+ kibble, so we cooked her some chicken breast with no additives and she has no problem eating that. I just don't know if she is in pain. She does sleep all day and night. Her water drinking is still like it has always been and she comes and goes through the doggie door to use the bathroom. I just hate to put her down if it's not time.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I need some advise. My 16 year old Shih Tzu Cookie was having seizures a few months ago so I took her to the Vet. She was prescribed some meds, Pimobendan and Furosemide which stopped the seizures until last Thursday evening when she had another seizure, it didn't last as long as the previous ones. Friday morning before I could call our Vet she fell over on her side and had another one and this time she also peed. I called the Vet and took her right in where she was examined, had blood work and Xrays. Her heart was enlarged which started a few years ago and she takes Enalapril twice a day for that. The Xrays show that her Kidney is also enlarging and her Liver is also enlarging. For this she is now taking Denamarin 1/4 tab once a day. The Vet says she may have Liver Cancer starting also. Her Furosemide was reduced to only 1/2 pill a day. Here's my questions, I don't think she is in pain but she is slow moving and sleeps all day. I don't want her to suffer, should I have her put down now or just wait until I can see if she is in pain and then have it done. When I do this I am thinking of cremation and having her Urn in my living room, but my Wife doesn't want that as it would bother her to see it every day. I could have her ashes placed with other pets and disbursed in an Orchard. I don't know what to do when the time comes, keep the Urn or let them disburse her ashes? I have never been this close to any of the pets I've had over the years. What would you all do?

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Richard, have you and Sue thought of a Class C motor home? My neighbors flew up to Seattle and purchased a 2 year old 22 foot class c with a diesel engine in it and they really love it. His wife drives it with no problem and it even has a long slide that gives them plenty of room when parked. The bed is in the back so no climbing up over the front seats to sleep. When they get back from a week end trip I'll get the make and model so you can pull it up and look it over. The engine is a mercedes diesel(?) Do you think Sue would drive one if it was small enough?

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

I hope the grand opening ceremony for the animal shelter includes some pictures of the Old Fella statue and all the bricks. That would be really neat :C So would the picture of Old Fella looking up at Richard. That picture says it all.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

When they honor you at the opening of the new place they need to post a HUGE picture of you and Old Fella in the lobby. The picture of you with him looking at you with those eyes says it all. It would be awesome.
